What If Fear Is A Signal To Pray

Fear does not wait for a convenient moment, it shows up in the middle of real life. We open with Psalm 56 and stay with David’s refrain until it sinks in: trust is a choice you make while the threat is still there. Along the way we pray for you, your family, your marriage, and for those who feel abandoned, abused, or alone, because faith is not theory when people are hurting.

Then we turn to Luke 1:1–25 and walk through Zechariah and Elizabeth, Gabriel’s message, and the consequences of disbelief. The theme that keeps surfacing is timing. We want answers now, we want relief now, we want the promise now, yet God moves “at the proper time.” If you’ve been wrestling with impatience, doubt, or the silence between prayer and fulfillment, this Bible reading and commentary brings language to that struggle.

We also talk candidly about marriage advice through Proverbs 5, the importance of Scripture as a light for your path, and why passing down stories of courage matters. A Medal of Honor profile of Jeremiah Z. Brown leads into a wider reflection on American history, including the Barbary War and the Treaty of Tripoli, and how history can shape the way we think about conflict, ideology, and responsibility today.

In your son's name we pray. Amen. Marriage verse for today. Proverbs 5, 18 and 19. May your spring be blessed, rejoice in the wife of your youth. She is a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts intoxicate you all the time. Always be drunk on her love. Wherever you're getting your marriage advice from, folks, it better line up with God. And if it doesn't, you need to trash it or can it, as we used to say, at the Marine Corps. Luke 1, 1 through 25. Many people have set out to write accounts about the events that have been fulfilled among us. They used the eyewitness reports circulating among us from the early disciples. Having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I also have decided to write an accurate account for you, most honorable Theophilus, so you can be certain of the truth of everything you were taught. When Herod was king of Judea, there was a Jewish priest named Zachariah. He was a member of the priestly order of Abaha, and his wife, Elizabeth, was also from the priestly line of Aaron. Zechariah and Elizabeth were righteous in God's eyes, careful to obey all the Lord's commandments and regulations. They had no children because Elizabeth was unable to conceive, and they were both very old. One day Zechariah was serving God in the temple, for his order was on duty that week. As was the custom of the priests, he was chosen by Lot to enter the sanctuary of the Lord and burn incense. While the incense was being burned, a great crowd stood outside praying. While Zechariah was in the sanctuary, an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the incense altar. Zechariah was shaken and overwhelmed with fear when he saw him, but the angel said, Don't be afraid, Zechariah. God has heard your prayer. Your wife Elizabeth will give you a son, and you are to name him John. You will have great joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, for he will be great in the eyes of the Lord. He must never touch wine or other alcoholic drinks. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before his birth. And he will turn many Israelites to the Lord their God. He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of their fat of fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly. Zachariah said to the angel, How can I be sure this will happen? I am an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years. Then the angel said, I am Gabriel. I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news. But now, since you didn't believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. For my words will certainly be fulfilled at the proper time. I wonder how many of us want things fulfilled in our time, right? Even more than just whatever it is to be fulfilled, like we we want it when we want it. I struggle with that. Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zachariah to come out of the sanctuary, wondering why he was taking so long. When he finally did come out, he couldn't speak to them. Then they realized from his gestures and his silence that he must have seen a vision in the sanctuary. When Zechariah's week of service in the temple was over, he returned home. Soon afterward, his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and went into seclusion for five months. How kind the Lord is, she exclaimed. Psalm 56, verses 1 through 13. So a psalm of David regarding when the Philistines seized him in Gath, right? Just a reminder that even David, someone like him, went through many heartaches and struggles in his life, a man after God's own heart. O God, have mercy on me, for people are hounding me. My foes attack me all day long. I am constantly hounded by those who slander me, and many are boldly attacking me. But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. I will praise God for what He has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? They are always twisting what I say, they spend their days plotting to harm me. They come together to spy on me, watching my every step, eager to kill me. Don't let them get away with their wickedness, and your anger, O God, bring them down. You keep track of all my sorrows, you have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know. God is on my side. I praise God for what He has promised. Yes, I praise the Lord for what He has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? I will fulfill my vows to you, O God. I will offer and will offer a sacrifice of thanks for your help. For you have rescued me from death. You have kept my feet from slipping, so now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light. Proverbs 11:8. The godly are rescued from trouble, and it falls on the wicked instead. That last verse from Psalm, walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light. We have a gentleman that does the children's message often at church, and he talks to the kids frequently about that, about how important it is to read the Bible because it's it's like a light for our path through this life. And when we have it, we can see the path and we don't stumble over the potholes and the pitfalls and all the other things. But when we don't have it, it's darkness and of course makes it really hard to walk when everything's dark and you can't see the path. If you're looking for something like Narnia, Hobbit, Percy Jackson, this is the first book in the series. And here's some reviews on the back if you want to check them out. That's the second book in the series so far, and if there's some reviews there too. If you're interested, if you get a chance, you can check it out. And if you enjoyed, if you'd leave a review somewhere online, those help quite a bit. Uh same for the podcast and reviews, and also if you feel like you're getting something out of the podcast. If you have five or ten dollars a month that you can donate, uh that helps quite a bit.

National Security And Ideology Concerns

SPEAKER_01

Just another name, folks, that an action that we need to teach our children about. Pass on that information far more than singers, songwriters, actors and actresses, movie lines, song lyrics, professional college athletes and their statistics. Right? The men and and the women that are represented. You don't see the women's names here, but but they're just Jeremiah Z. Brown, his wife, sisters, mother, father, brothers, those family members that supported, that sacrificed so much for our nation. So there's a lot going on right now, folks, as far as our nation and the danger within and Islam. And there's a lot of people that don't seem to realize there's a couple things that I brought back, a couple pieces of information that I just knew inherently from overseas. And one of them was folks, the really good Muslims, they're the ones that execute these atrocities. They're the ones that are actually following the Quran, Muhammad.

SPEAKER_00

And but even the ones that aren't, that are supposedly moderate, folks, they're not really moderate.

Barbary War And Treaty Of Tripoli

The Lord’s Prayer And Farewell

SPEAKER_01

They're complicit. And you see that same with the left, socialist, communist, Nazi, fascist, left doesn't right, that whole little umbrella. Because there's no outcry against these atrocities. Like the two teenage boys that tried to throw the IEDs that thankfully didn't go off in New York, and so many other things that have happened in just the last couple weeks inside the United States, there's no outcry from the Muslim community. There's no unequivocal condemnation of those actions. So again, uh the first war we fought, right? The Barbary War as a country. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson were, and Benjamin Franklin too, were diplomats, uh, right, that were sent to negotiate with these Muslim countries. And they finally ask the ambassador from Tripoli, you know, why why are you doing this? We don't have any any fight with you, any war with you just because you're Muslim, which ties into the Treaty of Tripoli, right? A lot of people use a line out of that Treaty of Tripoli that says that uh as the government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion, right? Well, that's a few words out of one sentence, out of one paragraph out of the entire Treaty of Tripoli. And when you really read through it and pay attention to it, you see what they were saying is we're not like all these other European so-called Christian nations. We're not going to go to war with you simply because you're a Muslim nation. We're a Christian nation in the true sense of the word, that we followed Christ. And so we have no fight with you as long as you don't have a fight with us. But going back to this ambassador from Tripoli, you know, why why are you taking our sailors as slaves? Why are you attacking us? Because he said that it was founded on the laws of their prophet Muhammad, that it was written in their Quran that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them whenever they could be found and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Muslim, Muslim, who should be slain in battle was sure to go to paradise. And at the end of these wars, there was a the first edition of the Quran was published. I don't have the year in front of me, but there was an inscription in this book printed in America, first edition in America. Thou wilt wonder that such absurdities have infected the best part of the world, and wilt avouch that the knowledge of what is contained in this book, the Quran, will render that Islamic shiara, sharia, law unrecognizable or law contemptible. Sorry, law contemptible. I didn't do a very good job reading that. Folks, it Islam hasn't changed. Great book, by the way, if you don't have a copy, Founder's Bible. A lot of really good stuff in there. You can find this information in other places, but it's kind of all put there, Patriots Bible. But folks, there's no peaceful coexistence inside the United States with Islam, leftism. We we can choose to separate ourselves, separate them from us, same thing as the Confederates at the end of the Civil War, Nazis at the end of World War II, the loyalists at the end of the Revolutionary War, or we can submit to slavery under them. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forget to forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not to temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen. God bless y'all. God bless your families, your marriages, God bless your nation, wherever you are around the world. Listen. God bless America. We'll talk to y'all again real soon, folks. Looking forward to it.
