Resurrection isn’t a sentimental idea for funerals, it’s a claim about reality that reshapes everything. We start in Luke 20 where Jesus answers the Sadducees and anchors our hope in a living God who keeps His promises. If God is truly the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, then death doesn’t get the final word and neither should fear, cynicism, or moral drift.
From there, we bring that hope down to street level with Titus 2: what older men and women should model, how younger families should be mentored, and why biblical marriage is less about comfort and more about credibility. We also sit with Jesus’ warnings about religious leaders who crave status, use big words, and harm the vulnerable, then echo Psalm 89’s reminder that God’s throne rests on righteousness and justice. Proverbs 14 adds a practical edge: correction can heal, but refusing it leads to ruin.
We also talk about patriotism and memory through a piece on Paul Revere’s ride and America’s 250th anniversary, asking what happens when we stop teaching Scripture and our national story. Along the way, we wrestle with hard questions about public safety, cultural cohesion, and what it means to love your neighbors while still telling the truth about the direction of your country. If you care about Luke 20, Christian worldview, biblical marriage, and faith in public life, this one is for you.

Luke 20 And The Living God
SPEAKER_00Luke 20, starting with verse 37. But now as to whether the dead will be raised. Even Moses proved this when he wrote about the burning bush. Long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, he referred to the Lord as the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. So he is the God of the living, not the dead. For they are all alive to him. Bedfordshire, UK. 14-year-old girl, September 2025, raped by a 14-year-old Iranian migrant, asylum seeker, Muslim, who had arrived in the UK only three months earlier. He was given a non-custodial sentence requiring him to attend consent classes. That was all the punishment, folks, because he was Muslim. He raped this girl and he was told to go to class about understanding consent. Your wives and daughters and granddaughters will be pillaged and plundered as leftism and Islam take over. It's not a matter of if, just when. Hey folks, this is Jesse Cope back with another episode of the American Soul Podcast. Hope y'all are doing well, wherever y'all are, whatever part of the day you're in. Sure do appreciate you joining me, giving me a little bit of your time and attention. We'll try and use it wisely for those of y'all who continue to pray for and support, share the word about the podcast. Thank you so much. Father, thank you for today. Thank you for you, Father, and your son Jesus Christ and your Holy Spirit. Thank you for your love and your mercy, your grace, and your forgiveness of sins through the merit of your son Jesus Christ. Help us to do your will, be with those listening to the podcast, guide them, surround them with angels, protect them from evil of any kind. Bless our marriages. Help us to raise our children to know you and your son Jesus Christ. Father, forgive us when we fail. Help us to do better. Come back to you, and to you and your son Jesus Christ. Watch over our leaders. Watch over our welfare and law enforcement, firefighters, EMS. Keep them safe. Father, please help our nation to turn to turn away from evils of multiculturalism, leftism, Islam, Hindu, etc., etc. Turn our hearts to you. God, my words here, please, Father. Your son's name we pray. Amen. Marriage verse for today, Titus 2, 1 through 8. But you should talk in a way that is consistent, sound teaching. Tell the older men to be sober, dignified, sensible, and healthy in respect of their faith, love, and patience. Likewise, tell the older women to be reverent in their bath, teaching what is good rather than being gossips or baby drinking. That way they can mentor young women to love their husbands and children and to be sensible, morally pure, working at home, kind and submissive to their own husbands, so that God's word won't be ridiculed. Likewise, encourage younger men to be sensible in every way. Offer yourself as a role model of good actions, show seriousness, and a sound message that is above criticism when you teach, so that any opponent will be ashamed because they won't find anything bad to say about us. Do our marriages act like this inside the church? Do we follow these commands? You know the answer for most of them. Lut me verse 27 through 47. Jesus was approached by some Sadducees, leaders who say there is no resurrection from the dead. They pose this question. Teacher, Moses gave us a law that if a man dies leaving a wife but no children, his brother should marry the widow and have children, have a child who will carry on the brother's name. Well, suppose there were seven brothers. The oldest one married and then died without children. Brother married the widow, but he also died. Then the third brother married her. This continued with all seven of them who died without children. Finally, the woman also died. Whose wife will she be in the resurrection? For all seven were married to her. Jesus replied, marriage is for people here on earth, but in the age to come, those worthy of being raised from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage. They will never die again. In this respect, they will be like angels. They are children of God and children of the resurrection. But now, as to whether the dead will be raised, even Moses heard of this when he wrote about the burning bush, long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, he referred to the Lord as the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. So he is the God of the living, not the dead, for they are all alive to him. Well said, teacher, remarked some of the teachers of religious law who were standing there. And then no dared to ask more questions. Presented them with questions. Why is it he asked that the Messiah is said to be good? For David himself wrote in the book of the Lord said to my Lord, place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, and I'm a footstool under your feet. David called the Messiah Lord. How can the Messiah be his son? With the crowds listening, he turned to the disciples and said, Beware of these teachers of religious law. For they like to parade around in flowing robes, and love to receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces, and how they love the seats of honor in the synagogue and the head table at banquets. Yet they shamelessly cheat widows out of their property and tend to be pious by making long prayers in public. Because of this, they will be severely punished. Father, help our actions to speak truly. Help us to follow your Son Jesus Christ and his commands, to love you with our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Bring us home to you in your sins' name, we pray. Amen. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Unfailing love and truth walk before you as a tenant. Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord. They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation. They exalt in your righteousness. You are their glorious strength. It pleases you to make us strong. Yes, our protection comes from the Lord, and He, the Holy One of Israel, has given us our king. Long ago you spoke in a vision to your faithful people. You said, I have raised up a warrior. I have selected him from a common people to be king. I have found my servant David. I have anointed him with my holy oil. I will steady him with my hand. With my powerful arm, I will make him strong. Remember all this, folks, in the psalm when people tell you that we don't have a right or responsibility as Christians to fight. His enemies will not defeat him, nor will the wicked overpower him. I will beat down his adversaries before him and destroy those who hate him. My faithfulness and unfailing love will be with him, and by my authority he will grow in power. I will extend his rule over the sea, his dominion over the rivers, and he will call out to me, You are my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. I will make him my firstborn son, the mightiest king on earth. I will love him and be kind to him forever. My covenant with him will never end. I will preserve an heir for him. His throne will be as endless as the days of heaven. But if his descendants take my instructions and fail to obey my regulations, if they do not obey my decrees and fail to keep my commands, then I will punish their sin with a rod. And but I will never stop loving him for fail to keep my promise to him. No, I will not break my covenant, I will not take back a single word I said. I have sworn an oath to David, and in my holiness I cannot lie. His dynasty will go on forever, his kingdom will endure as the sun. It will be as eternal as the moon, my faithfulness in the sky. Proverbs 14, 17 through 19. An unreliable messenger stumbles into trouble, but a reliable messenger is healing. If you ignore criticism, you will end in poverty and disgrace. If you accept correction, you will be dawned. It is pleasant to see dreams come true, but fools refuse to turn from evil to attain them. Wow, I just started reading it after getting it as a gift. It is a little like what I thought it might be outside Hogwarts between terms. Kind review if you get a chance to read the series. Hope you enjoy it. And if you do, if you would more online. Same thing with the podcast. If you're getting something out of it, if you would leave a review. And if you have five or ten dollars you can spare each month, there's a link where you can set that up in the show notes, and that helps uh keep us going. So thank you. January 2026, Honslow, West London, UK, 16-year-old. I'm not sure how to pronounce this. I should, but I don't. S-I-K-H, right? Uh girl, 16-year-old girl was groomed and gang raped for several days by a group of Muslim Pakistani men after being lured to a flat by a man in his late 30s. She was held captive until around 200 members of the local Sika community protested and secured her release, leading to one rest at least. Folks, you can have a Christian nation or you can have a Muslim leftist uh coexist nation. You can't have both. And if you choose to not have a Christian nation, you will not have liberty or freedom, nor will your wives or daughters or granddaughters. Medal of Honor winner. Excuse me, something has gotten my sinuses. E. Michael Burke, also known as Michael Burke, private U.S. Civil War Delta Company, 125th New York Infantry, U.S. Army, May 12th, 1864, Spotsylvania, Virginia, USA. Capture a flag, seizing it as his regiment advanced over the enemy's works. He received a bullet wound in the chest while capturing the flag. Not awarded posthumously, December 1st, 1864. Born 1847, Ireland, died February 3rd, 1878. Buried St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy, New York, location of Metal National Archives and Records Administration, Washington, D.C. Again, compare these immigrants, these settlers, these people that came with what we're getting today via illegal immigration and mass Muslim Hindu Indian immigration. Not the same, folks. Not even remotely the same. All right. For whatever time is left today, and maybe we'll come back to it again, there's a great article in the Epic Times titled Following Paul Prevere's Revolutionary Ride. And it talks about people along this route talking about America's 250th anniversary. Right? Okay. It's by Darlene McCormick Sanchez. And we're going to read a few excerpts out of this. Revere's Ride helped spark the American Revolution and the birth of a nation 250 years ago this July 4th. It inspired countless books and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's famous poem, Paul Revere's Ride, which many young students read. We don't, do we teach that anymore? Do we know that in public school? Just like we don't teach the Bible anymore, folks. We used to teach our kids these songs and stories about America. We need to, again, desperately. So one of the things this author did, uh, Miss Sanchez, was she stopped and talked to people along the route, right? And uh there's a great little section in here about the Del Guido, Del Guido family, who has operated a store next to Paul Revere's house since 1894. But there's some others too. A few streets away from Revere's house, Bella Vista Restaurante, Anthony Pizzino's thick Boston accent gives him the perfect tough guy vibe reminiscent of old Hollywood films. Uh he talks about his Italian roots. This is where it began, he told the Epic Times, nodding when asked about what it felt like to work so close to where Paul Revere started his journey. Pisano said he hopes that America's 250th anniversary will bring a resurrection of patriotism. People have to love being in their country. Folks, we should love America. We should love it as a Christian republic. That's what it was founded at. You should make no apologies for this being a Christian nation built for Christians. And we should require people that want to come here to honor and respect that. And if they don't, if they want to be Muslim first, if they want to be Hindu first, even go to countries where those are the people coming here that follow Islam, that follow communism, or that are already here, the people that follow Hinduism, Buddhism, etc., they're not trying to make America better. They're trying to destroy it. They are destroying it, folks. If we don't remember where we came from, as so many of our presidents have talked about, Ronald Reagan among them, and if we don't love our nation based on the principles of Christ, that's the only way you can love America, to love her founding uh principles. One more little section here. Um, we may come back and read some more. It's a great article again, following Paul Revere's Revolutionary Ride by Darlene McCormick-Sanchez out of the Epic Times. Highly recommend it. This last little uh section was Charles, she interviewed Charles White, Army veteran and history buff. He was touring the old North Church where the Patriots hung two lanterns as Revere began his fast, furious ride. White, who was visiting from Colorado, wore a sweatshirt with the famous join or die segmented snake representing the colonies, an image created by Benjamin Franklin in the 1750s. We will either join or die, folks. We will either turn back to Christ or die. There's no middle ground, middle option. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen. God bless y'all. God bless your families, your marriages, your nation, wherever you are around the world listening. God bless America. We'll talk to y'all again real soon, folks. Looking forward to it.
