A sacred meal. A warning about betrayal. A stubborn kind of hope for people who keep failing and still want to come home. We start by reading Luke 22 and sitting with Jesus as He breaks bread, shares the cup, and names what His sacrifice means. Communion is not treated as a church habit we repeat on autopilot, but as remembrance with weight, because the new covenant is written in blood and it calls for loyalty that lasts longer than a moment of emotion.

From there, we follow the tension in the room as the disciples argue about who is greatest and Jesus answers with servant leadership. That same passage turns sharply personal when Jesus tells Peter he will deny Him three times. Peter’s story is a gut check for anyone who feels disqualified: he fell, he repented, and he was forgiven. We connect that to a bigger theme of discipleship, spiritual warfare, and perseverance, then lean on Psalm 92 for gratitude and confidence that evil may flourish briefly, but it does not win forever.

We also touch on hard news about sexual violence and what it reveals about accountability when authority figures abuse power. To close, we read a striking historical quote from Senator Robert Byrd after prayer in schools was ruled unconstitutional, using it to ask what “separation of church and state” really means in American life and why public faith still matters. Luke 22, starting with verse 19. Saying, This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. After supper, he took another cup of wine and said, This cup is the new covenant between God and his people, an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you. April 26th, 2026, Plymouth, UK. Woman was raped in a residential property in the early hours by two Afghan Muslim nationals. They're never going to stop voluntarily, folks. Muslims or the left. To love our neighbors as ourselves. Forgive us when we fail. Help us to remember that we can trust you with our soul, because of your son Jesus Christ. That you will get us safely home. Not because of anything we've done or haven't done. Save for accepting Jesus Christ. And that free gift.

SPEAKER_01

When Religious Leaders Abuse Power

A Military Valor Memorial Note

SPEAKER_01

Guide our steps, guide our tongues, our thoughts, our words, and our actions. Be with our military, our law enforcement, our firefighters. EMS. Keep them safe. Bring them home safe. Be with our leaders in the pulpit and in the state. Give them wisdom and courage and a strong faith. Help them to rule and lead in fear of you. And God, my words here, Father, please. In your Son's name we pray. Amen. Proverbs 5, 18 and 19. May your spring be blessed. Rejoice in the wife of your youth. She is a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts intoxicate you all the time. Always be drunk on her love. Impossible to be intoxicated all the time, drunk always, if that is not offered always and all the time. Right? It's a two-way street there, folks. Luke 22, 14 through 34. When the time came, Jesus and the apostles sat down together at the table. Jesus said, I have been very eager to eat this Passover meal with you before my suffering begins. For I tell you now, excuse me, that I won't eat this meal again until its meaning is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. Then he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. Then he said, Take this and share it among yourselves, for I will not drink wine again until the kingdom of God has come. He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. After supper, he took another cup of wine and said, This cup is the new covenant between God and his people, an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you. For it has been determined that the Son of Man must die. But what sorrow awaits the one who betrays him? The disciples began to ask each other which of them would ever do such a thing. Then they began to argue among themselves about who would be the greatest among them. Jesus told them, In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called friends of the people. But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like the servant, like a servant. Who is more important, the one who sits at the table or the one who serves? The one who sits at the table, of course, but not here. For I am among you as one who serves. You have stayed with me in my time of trial, and just as my father has granted me a kingdom, I now grant you the right to eat and drink at my table in my kingdom. And you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turn to me again, strengthen your brothers. Peter said, Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you and even to die with you. But Jesus said, Peter, let me tell you something. Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me. What a great comfort Peter is. Remember that when you feel like you have failed more than anybody else, or failed more than Christ can forgive. Remember Peter and the fact that he knew God, walked with Jesus Christ for years, and still denied him and was still forgiven. And was used in a way that most of us will never even be able to comprehend as a positive for saving lost souls. Psalm 92:1 through 93.5. It is good to give thanks to the Lord to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening, accompanied by a tin stringed instrument, a harp, and the melody of a lyre. You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me. I sing for joy because of what you have done. O Lord, what great works you do, and how deep are your thoughts. Only a simpleton would not know, and only a fool would not understand this. Though the wicked sprout like weeds, and evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever. But you, O Lord, will be exalted forever, your enemies, Lord, will surely perish. All evildoers will be scattered. But you have made me as strong as a wild ox, you have anointed me with the finest oil. My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies, my ears have heard defeat the defeat of my wicked opponents. But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon, for they are transplanted to the Lord's own house. They flourish in the courts of our God. Even in old age they will still produce fruit, they will remain vital and green. They will declare the Lord is just, he is my rock. There is no evil in him. The Lord is king, he is robed in majesty. Indeed, the Lord's Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. Your throne, O Lord, has stood from time immemorial. You yourself are from the everlasting past. The floods have risen up, O Lord. The floods have roared like thunder. Floods their pounding, but mightier than the violent raging of the seas, mightier than the breakers on the shore. The Lord above is mightier than these. Your royal laws cannot be changed. Your reign, O Lord, is holy forever and ever. Proverbs 14:1 and 2. A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands. There's a lot of people today that need to hear that. Those who follow the right path fear the Lord. Those who take the wrong path despise him. Countryside. The book of the wise. If you're looking for a family-friendly middle grade read, kind of like the Narnia, the Hobbit, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, if you would check out the Countryside series, I would appreciate it. And if you enjoy it, if you would leave a review somewhere, I would appreciate that too. There's a five-star review here, a little bit by John Andrew Hartley Nichols on Amazon. The journey through the first book is one I re I'd recommend to all and hope that they take their first boop into countryside. Also, if you feel like you're getting something out of the podcast, if you'd leave a review for that, I appreciate the reviews. Very kind. And if you have five or ten dollars a month, you can donate to the podcast. That helps immensely too. There's a link in the show notes where you can set that up. Multiple 12-year-old girls, 2025, were raped by Imam Abdul Haleem Khan, a Muslim cleric. You gotta understand, folks, this is a great example because it's it's not extreme or fringe or what do you want to say, terrorist Muslim. It's mainstream. This is a Muslim cleric, right? It's it's this is Islam. It's not going to change. There's no outcry, right? When when you saw the scandal with the priests in the Catholic Church, or when you see something like that, there's immediate outcrying in the Christian community. It's absolutely not following Christ, but you don't see that with these atrocities from the left and Islam. You see silence or even approval or defending of the evil. Shepherdstown, Ford, West Virginia. Voluntarily attempted to spike a gun in the face of the enemy. The Lord’s Prayer And Farewell

SPEAKER_01

American Heritage quote for today comes from Senator Robert Byrd, who was, at least at one point, may still be, the longest serving member in the history of the U.S. Senate. And this is a great example, folks, of we need to be far more concerned with the content of the message, right? With the ideals and principles than we are with a person or a party. Because many of you, if you know anything about Senator Robert Byrd, he's not the most sterling figure in the Senate. But this quote we're going to read probably take us a couple days to get through, was part of a message June 27, 1962, just two days after the Supreme Court declared prayer and schools unconstitutional. And he's spot on here. And so he may not have been the most sterling character individual in the Senate. Even more condemning that he could figure this out. And those of us who claim to have this great character have allowed this evil to be perpetuated in the United States. This lie of separation of church and state diversion that got passed in 1947 by the Supreme Court. We'll see how much we get through today. Inasmuch as our greatest leaders have shown no doubt about God's proper place in the American birthright, can we in our day dare do less? In no other place in the United States are there so many and such varied official evidences of deep and abiding faith in God on the part of government as there are in Washington. Every session of the House and the Senate begins with prayer. Each house has its own chaplain. The 83rd Congress set aside a small room in the Capitol just off the rotunda for the private prayer and meditation of members of Congress. The room's focal point is a stained glass window showing George Washington kneeling in prayer. Behind him is etched these words from Psalm 61 or 16 1. Preserve me, O God, for in thee do I put my trust. Inside the rotunda is a picture of the pilgrims. Very clear words, the New Testament according to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the cell is the motto of the pilgrims. In God we trust, God with us. And we'll read some more on the next podcast. That's again from June 27, 1962, a speech given by Senator Robert Byrd. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. God bless y'all. God bless your families. God bless your marriages if you're married. God bless your nation, wherever you are around the world, listening. God bless America. We'll talk to y'all again real soon, folks. Looking forward to it.
