Drop us a note about the podcast.
Psalm 35 doesn’t tiptoe around conflict. It asks God to step in, take up shield and spear, and defend the innocent against people who lie, trap, and threaten. That’s where we start, and it’s also why we briefly reference the Telford child sex ring and Operation Vapor, not for shock value, but to underline a sober truth: real evil targets the vulnerable, and Christians cannot answer that with silence or slogans. We pray for abused children around the world and ask God to move us toward protection that shows up in deeds, not just words.
From there, we read and wrestle with 1 Corinthians 11, including the plain order Paul gives for Christ, man, and woman, plus his instructions about worship and head coverings. Whether you’ve heard these verses preached carefully or avoided completely, we push toward honesty with the text and a church culture that doesn’t edit Scripture to keep everyone comfortable. We also tie in Proverbs 21 to challenge the drift toward pleasure and luxury when the moment calls for courage, discipline, and clarity.
The second half turns outward to public life and national memory: we remember names connected to September 11 and share a historical account of Joseph Samuel Cecil. Then we come back to discernment with the John Robinson quote that still stings in the best way: follow leaders only as far as they follow Christ. We close by reading state mottos and seal symbols that point to Providence and biblical language, arguing that America’s founding assumptions were explicitly Christian, not vague deism. Psalm 35 And A Dark Case
SPEAKER_00Psalm 35, starting with verse one. O Lord, oppose those who oppose me. Fight those who fight against me. Put on your armor and take up your shield. Prepare for battle and come to my aid. Lift up your spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Let me hear you say I will give you victory. Bring shame and disgrace on those trying to kill me. Turn them back and humiliate those who want to harm me. Going back to the Telford Child Sex Ring. This is Operation Vapor. These were further additional trials after the ones we've already talked about. Multiple men Muslim. Primarily, at least a few of these men indicated. Lucy Lowe. She was 16. We've actually, I remember talking about her because the case was so unbelievable. She was killed with her mother and her sister and her unborn unborn child in August of 2000 in a house fire that was started by a Muslim taxi driver, Azar Ali Mahmoud, who was the father of her child. She had become pregnant at 14. And they talked about the fact that in the 2022 case, so she was killed in August of 2000. And part of this, I would assume it sounds like multiple cases, but at least this Operation Vapor. And there was at least one survivor who stepped forward, waived anonymity. But these Muslim men used this burning to death of mother, sister, and more child and girl as a threat to silence other girls. That is all that left that Islam and leftism goes along with it, has to offer your wives, our wives, daughters, and grandchildren.

Prayer For Protection And Children
SPEAKER_00Father, thank you for today. Thank you for you, Father, and your son Jesus Christ and your Holy Spirit. Thank you that you defend us against our enemies, against those who falsely accuse us, those who attack us. Help us remember that even if this life doesn't look the way that we hoped or wanted, that you see more than we can even imagine. And then at some point, Father, we will get to spend all of eternity with you and your son and those who believe along with us that your son has arisen Christ. Because of him, not because of anything we have done. Father, be with these children around the world who have been abused.
SPEAKER_01Girls and boys.
SPEAKER_00Help us to do a better job of defending them, protecting them.
SPEAKER_01Comforting them.
SPEAKER_00Help us to do it with actions and deeds, not merely words. And Father, please be with the people listening to the podcast, wherever they are, bless them, their families, their marriages, their children. Comfort them, guide them. And guide my words here, Father, please. In your Son's name we pray. Amen.
Marriage Order In 1 Corinthians
SPEAKER_00Marriage verses for today. 1 Corinthians 11. Verse 3. But there is one thing I want you to know. The head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. Verse 8, same 1 Corinthians 11, verse 8. But the first man didn't come from woman, but the first woman came from man. A man was not made for woman, but woman was made for man. How many churches do you think preach that without some add-on or addition about how it doesn't really mean exactly what it says? Or turning it around and talking about only if a man is doing this, that, or the other. Scripture for today, 1 Corinthians 11, 1 through 16. And you should imitate me just as I imitate Christ. I am so glad that you always keep me in your thoughts and that you are following the teachings I passed on to you. But there is one thing I want you to know the head of every man is Christ, the head of every woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. A man dishonors his head if he covers his head while praying or prophesying, but a woman dishonors her head if she prays or prophesies without a covering on her head. For this is the same as shaving her head. Yes, if she refuses to wear a head covering, she should cut off all her hair. But since it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or her head shaved, she should wear a covering. A man should not wear anything on his head when worshiping, for a man is made in God's image and reflects God's glory. And woman reflects man's glory. For the first man didn't come from woman, but the first woman came from man. And man was not made for woman, but woman was made for man. For this reason, and because the angels are watching, a woman should wear a covering on her head to show she is under authority. But among the Lord's people, women are not independent of men, and men are not independent of women. For although the first woman came from man, every other man was born from a woman, and everything comes from God. Judge for yourselves. Is it right for a woman to pray to God in public without covering her head? Isn't it obvious that it's disgraceful for a man to have long hair? And isn't long hair a woman's pride and joy? For it has been given to her as a covering. But if anyone wants to argue about this, I simply say that we have no other custom than this, and neither do God's other churches. It's a pretty good answer when you have people inside the church, folks, that refuse to acknowledge all of this from one Corinthians eleven. This is a custom of all God's churches.
Psalm 35 And Proverbs 21
SPEAKER_00Psalm thirty-five, starting with verse one. O Lord, oppose those who oppose me, fight those who fight against me. Put on your armor and take up your shield, prepare for battle and come to my aid. Lift up your spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Let me hear you say, I will give you victory, bring shame and disgrace on those trying to kill me, turn them back and humiliate those who want to harm me. Blow them away like chaff in the wind, a wind sent by the angel of the Lord. Make their path dark and slippery with the angel of the Lord pursuing them. I did them no wrong, but they laid a trap for me. I did them no wrong, but they dug a pit to catch me. So let sudden ruin come upon them. Let them be caught in the trap they set for me. Let them be destroyed in the pit they dug for me. Then I will rejoice in the Lord. I will be glad because he rescues me. With every bone in my body I will praise him, Lord, who can compare with you? Who else rescues the helpless from the strong? Who else protects the helpless and poor from those who rob them? Malicious witnesses testify against me, they accuse me of crimes I know nothing about. They repay me evil for good. I am sick with despair. Yet when they were ill, I grieved for them. I denied myself by fasting for them. But my prayers returned unanswered. I was sad as though they were my friends or family, as if I were grieving for my own mother. But they are glad now that I am in trouble. They gleefully joined together against me. I am attacked by people I don't even know. They slander me constantly. They mock me and call me names, they snarl at me. Proverbs twenty-one, seventeen, and eighteen. Those who love pleasure become poor. Those who love wine and luxury will never be rich. The wicked are punished in place of the godly, and traitors in place of the honest. There's
Reviews, Books, And Support Links
SPEAKER_00two books in the series, middle grade fiction, fantasy. Um kind of like Narnia, The Hobbit, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Fable Haven, that kind of stuff, if you like it, or if you have kids or grandkids or friends that do. And if you enjoy them, if you'd leave a review, that helps people to find them. Especially the five-star ones. Same thing for the podcasts. If you feel like you're getting something out of the two podcasts, if you would leave a review somewhere online wherever you listen, that helps others to find them. And if you have five or ten dollars a month, you can spare it to donate to the writing and the podcast. There's a link in the show notes where you can set that up. And uh I would be grateful for any and or all of that.

Following Christ With Discernment
SPEAKER_00read this again. I may start to read this a little more often, folks, because it's true across the board. The John Robinson quote, right, Pastor of the Pilgrims, when they departed Laden. And this was recorded by Edward Winslow and William Bradford wrote it down. He charged us before God and his blessed angels to follow him no further than he followed Christ. And if God should reveal anything to us by any other instrument of his, to be as ready to receive it as ever we were to receive any truth by his ministry. Whatever it is in your life, folks, that you're getting advice on, especially people, but job, finances, friends, co-workers, boss, kids, spouse. That's why we talk about that every day. Wherever your advice is coming from, it needs to line up with scripture. You need to check that, you need to make sure that it is, you need to study it. And if it's not, if you're getting advice from somebody that is not lining up with scripture, you need to find a different source of advice. So
State Mottos And A Christian Republic
SPEAKER_00I wanted to go back real briefly at the end here today. We were talking about the mottos of some of these states. Just like the presidential oath of office, it's a real simple thing to show that we were born a Christian Republic. So are these mottos and seals, right? Just another little piece, like Justice Josiah Brewer said in the mountain of evidence, both official and unofficial, that we were born a Christian nation. And so I wanted to read through a few more of these. Connecticut, he who transplanted still sustains. It's been on the seal since the 1660s, and the Puritan columnist right there, right, they and they knew that God was heathen. And this is a great point, too, because when you hear Providence, Creator, in our initial founding documents, when you hear political speeches or whatever from the vast majority, they weren't talking about a false God or some Islam or Buddhism or Hinduism. When they referred to He, Creator, Providence, they were talking about God the Father of Jesus Christ. And that was just understood. So don't let people try and sell this deist nonsense to you. Rhode Island. We talked about the Rhode Island motto the other day, but the interesting thing is there's an anchor on there, right? Which is often the hope that was in the the part of the motto is and the anchor, when they're combined, they go back to Hebrews 6.19. Hope we have as an anchor of the soul. Right. Hawaii, the life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness. America, Samoa. Let God be first. Puerto Rico has a coat of arms which has on it John is his name from Luke 163. And then you've got a lot of others that don't have explicit wording on them, folks, that just have symbolism. Right? Just some of the examples. Colorado has the eye of providence, right? Talking about God. Arkansas, angel of mercy. And I found this one really interesting. Louisiana, the pelican, right? You just think, well, that's because there's pelicans in Louisiana, but the pelican traditionally was a Christian symbol of self-sacrifice. This mountain of evidence, again, as the Supreme Court Justice said, of the fact that we're a Christian nation. It's just it's woven into the fabric of our entire nation, right? Which reminds you of the presidential quote, if I can get there. Benjamin Harrison, right? If you take out of your statutes, your constitution, your family life, all that is taken from the sacred book, what would there be left to bind society together? Right. You're not just an American because you live in America, folks. We can't have, like the melting pot only works when people assimilate into the founding values of the country. The principles of Christ. And if you don't have that, you're going to have the same kind of balkanization that you see in Europe. You can't have a United States that's just randomly tied together. There's got to be a universal core group of principles. And if those aren't the principles of Christ, the country's going to fall apart. People say, well, what about freedom and liberty? Okay, but where does that come from? It comes from God and Jesus Christ, the Bible, the Ten Commandments. The founding principles, when you talk about our founding values, you have to tie back into God and Jesus Christ. And that's the only thing that can sustain us as a nation. Our
Lord's Prayer And Blessing
SPEAKER_00Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us the stare of daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not to temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. God bless y'all. God bless your families, your marriages, your children, your nation, wherever you are around the world listening. God bless America. We'll talk to y'all again real soon, folks. Looking forward to it.
