Show Notes

Ghana crashed out of this year's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) by failing to beat lowly Comoros Islands and therefore not making the knockout stages of the AFCON for the first time in more than a generation.

They are many reasons why Ghana failed at AFCON 22 some of which include hiring the services of a third rate white/European coach with questionable pedigree who has been out of touch with the nuances of Afrikan football and  expecting Ghana to achieve.

Others include the lack of real depth and talent  in Ghana's squad compared to the Golden Generation  of Essien, Appiah, Kingston, Muntari, Gyan, Mensah and Boateng along with emerging talents like the Ayew brothers, Dominic Adiyah, Ransford Osei and Emmanuel Agyeman Badu.

Also blame must be apportioned at he door of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) whose clueless leadership was called into question by employing the services of a third class coach.

Finally we discuss the way forward for the Black Stars which includes building a cohesive, strategic team around key players like Baba Raman, Kudus and Thomas Partey with the experience and guile of Andre Ayew in order for Ghana to re kindle past glories.
