Six book fantasy series located in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. Katie Johnson a Junior in high school doesn't realize she is about to enter into a fantasy world. Where she and others turn into were-animals. Each move she makes is like a game on a chess board where the decisions she makes will be life or death to her friends and family. The supernatural is common and is trying to destroy the natural world.

The Knight: Chapter 11 "One Hour Vacation"
Katie, Jared, David and Candy take an hour and visit their families. They are all located at Jared's home with Jack Price acting as host.
Katie is surprised when Rachel Smith informs her that the school year begins in four days.
David tells Katie the reason why the Hawk's are not with the other parents is because the they blame themselves for Lizzy's actions. They do not want to be around the other parents.
Katie is aware how much danger Lizzy's parents are.
