ShiShi / George Haas

This conversation with George Haas is one of the most important talks we've had so far on the show.  George is an artist, writer, photographer, meditation teacher and the founder of Metta Group, a company focused on helping individuals heal attachment disturbances through a three pillar approach of Inner Chid work, Metta-Vipassana Meditation and education on secure functioning.  He has also been my meditation teacher, therapist and mentor for the past 9 months.

The specific kind of inner child work we discuss in this conversation is a revolutionary new modality called The Ideal Parent Figure protocol, and it's based on western psychotherapeutic research and Tibetan Buddhist practices.  It was created by the late great Dr. Daniel P. Brown, who was a Psychologist at Harvard University and a Tibetan Buddhist Master who served as a personal student of the Dalai Lama.  I was lucky enough to work with Dan for two years before his death, and he also mentored George as his protégé.

George is now carrying the baton, helping people all over the world repair insecure attachment and build real self-esteem.  If you follow my content, you know how much I talk about the importance of recognizing and healing our attachment disturbances, and the implications of this work on our fundamental confidence and happiness in life.  Working with George and what he teaches has been hands down the most important work I've ever done, and I'm fortunate to now be getting mentored by him to facilitate this important work with my own 1-on-1 private coaching clients.

In this conversation we talk about how George came across this work, the importance of healing emotional patterns and limiting beliefs before seriously embarking on a spiritual path, why creatives with insecure attachment struggle to show up consistently in their art and business, and much more.  If there's one podcast you listen to all year from this show, let this be the one.
