Thank you, and Hello, it is always good to be here at the life of a boss studios bringing you another episode of value packed game. And why are we here? We want you guys to reach own definition of success. You know. So that's what this show is for. It's not for the people that want to make excuses. And it's not for the people who use reasons to make excuses. And that's the segue into the topic of our show reasons and excuses. And knowing the difference. And do you know the difference? Does anybody out there know the difference? Call in a comment, leave a question or leave your answer right now if you got an answer. What's the difference? Man, the first person

Unknown Speaker  1:32
that has the right answer,

Unknown Speaker  1:35
I'll send  shirt to I'll send an official life of a boss shirt to if you send me the best definition for Well, the best way to differentiate between a reason and excuse. I'm getting five minutes before I give you the answers. I don't want you guys to come up with my answer. I want you guys come up with your answer.

Unknown Speaker  1:56
All right, that's long enough. Anyway,

Unknown Speaker  1:59
the really the only

Unknown Speaker  2:02
real difference between reason and excuse because just to let you guys know, it can be the exact same thing of reasoning. And an excuse can be the exact same bar for bar word or thing that happened. You know, I got into a car accident, it could be a reason that something happened or didn't happen. But it can also be an excuse for something happening and not happening. And what's the difference?

Unknown Speaker  2:29
What's the difference? Well, the difference the technical difference between a reason and an excuse is that an excuse is used to deflect blame.

Unknown Speaker  2:40
Let me repeat that. excuses are used to deflect blame.

Unknown Speaker  2:50
see a reason is something that happened okay. Yeah, man did this because of that, man. Okay, how could  How do we make it right you know, I know that I was late, man. I'm sorry. And you know, acknowledge it, man. Where can I do? Where are we? Where do we go from here? You know, that's a reason. Blame is like, man, I was labeled. Well, it wasn't my fault, man. I was doing my girl man, my mama, man and my car man wan't my fault man, I have been here. You know wht I'm sayin notice that. I didn't take any ownership of what happened in that second. You know, that second statement? And that's the difference. And what's the problem with that? You know, what's the problem with excuses? Are they bad? You know? And I say Yeah. Because with excuses, and not taking ownership or deflecting blame. That is ridding yourself of accountability. Now, what is accountability?

Unknown Speaker  3:46
Now, for those who want to win another shirt, I'm just kidding. But please comment, what you think accountability is Give me your definition of accountability. And I will read the best definition of accountability on air when I do another show on accountability. All right, but accountability is is basically control is control of your own actions control of your decisions and and, and not just control over them, but owning up to the control that you had. You see what I'm saying? see people that deflect blame, act like they didn't have control. And I'll tell you in my organization and my team and my business, I don't want anybody who does not have control or act like they did not have control. You know what I'm saying because the only thing on this planet you can control is you and the moment you let that control go than you you have no control you've lost control. You know what I'm saying so? Anybody that likes to deflect blame I look at people that don't have accountability. I look at them like somebody that will lie You know what I'm saying and he's not accountable so he'll lie if something goes bad he's gonna say Oh, it wasn't me. You don't know the first people to say it wasn't me. You know, they're not gonna apologize. They're not gonna find out what where where

Unknown Speaker  5:00
They played a role in the situation they're gonna say it wasn't me. I don't know. It was him. It was her. It was that it was this. I can't have people that have blame deflection problems. You don't own your problems. Yeah Did it man it was I made a mistake. How do I make it right? That's what I want to hear when something happens. How do I make it right?

Unknown Speaker  5:21
You know what I'm saying if you're making it right then it's just a reason okay? I get your reason. It can be a horrible reason. But if you try to make it right, I can respect you. It can be a great excuse. But if you're trying to deflect blame, I can't respect you. You know what I'm saying? That's the whole point. So the point of all this is stop making excuses if you want to get some done if you want to do something for yourself, stop making excuses. Stop using reasons as clutches and start using them as inspiration motivation I got to get this because you don't I'm saying so stop making excuses. Get off your butt. Do whatever you said you committed to and if you didn't get it done if you can't

Unknown Speaker  6:06
fulfill your obligations, then man up until yourself and others Why don't be afraid to own up to what you couldn't do what you didn't finish what you didn't make happen, what you did wrong, don't be afraid to own up to it. Because you can move on from there.

Unknown Speaker  6:22
deflecting blaming you'll never really solve the problem.

Unknown Speaker  6:27
How many people you know that always blame other people for issues. You have to always in the same position you seen them the last time you saw them. You don't I'm saying how many people always have excuses, but always have problems you see, they go together, the more excuses you have, the more problems you're gonna have. Because that means you're not fixing any problem. Why? Because it's not even the problem you didn't do nothing wrong. You don't say so that's the whole key and point it's not even to own up to somebody else you know what I'm saying you don't want to own your your mistakes to just to help somebody else and just to help those your job or whatever then of course, that's what it does. But you really need to own up to the things you do into the things you have control over for yourself. For you to be successful you have to be accountable for you to lose that weight you to get that promotion for you to create that company from the ground up for you to run a family you know what I'm saying for you to teach a child for you to be an honest relationship with with your spouse, man you have to be accountable. Like I said, this is all about personal development. It's not just about entrepreneurship. Being a boss isn't just about being a boss of somebody else's it's bossin you you know what I'm saying is having full control over you and if you don't have control over you don't have control over nothing. Anyway that's all the time and that's about
