William Marshal's hunt for the Beast of Brotonne Forest takes an unexpected turn when Fenrir finally reunites with his ancient wolf brother, Volchor.

Deep within the legendary Brotonne Forest, the truth behind the attacks is revealed. The beast is not a monster hunting villagers, but an ancient guardian protecting the memory of a Dryad whose sacred oak was destroyed by Norman settlers.

As Volchor recounts centuries of grief, Fenrir discovers that the Dryad Dreana survives—but as a human child with no memory of her former life. The church itself has unknowingly been built from the timbers of her ancient tree, leaving William Marshal facing an impossible choice between protecting innocent villagers or preserving one of the oldest spirits in Europe.

Inspired by medieval history, Norman France, Celtic mythology and European folklore, this chapter explores the origins of Dryads, ancient wolf spirits and the cost of civilisation as William Marshal uncovers one of the greatest mysteries of Brotonne Forest.
