Hi! Quickie for my thoughts pre-Royal Wedding. I've been half crying all day thinking about our journey together. Little life update too. Enjoy.

Hey guys, welcome back to Liz Left Love Yourself. This is Lizzie at Lizzie D Newton on Instagram. And I am here with a really quick podcast because it is the 3rd of July. And this is one of the first years, one of the, this is the first year that I'm home for the fireworks in Bristol, Rhode Island in years. Usually I go away with my mom in New Hampshire, but we had a family, um, not emergency, but some family stuff going on. So she is in France and she went for the um the European midnight sunified version of what is a heat wave, um, which they're not used to, and they don't like it because they don't have AC here. And what I've learned about um Europeans is that they do, in fact, like air conditioning, and that's one of the things that I hope that they will improve on as they go back to their country after FIFA World Cup happens, which I do have on the TV right now. I think it's Kate Verd and Kate Verde, I'm not really sure how to say it, and Argentina. It's so exciting. I still love soccer, love the camaraderie, love when boys jump all over each other. Um I the field is very big and the men are small and talented, and it's it's just like a fun game, and I'm still loving the vibes. I think it's still bringing people together and uniting the world around ranch as a sauce girl. I love a dip, so that's exciting. So yeah, I'm here for the third of July. I'm here for the fireworks, and then tomorrow, you guys, oh my gosh, big deal. I'm going to New Hampshire and I'm gonna meet my boyfriend's mother and grandmother and like family and stuff. And he told me not to be scared because they love everybody. And did that help me feel better? No, I am terrified. And I tried to make cookies, but I tried to be European and I tried to weigh out my my dry ingredients in grams, and I tried to bake them today, and it just turned into like one giant cookie. I don't know if it I can blame the grams or if I can blame the fact that it is literally 100 degrees outside and it just didn't work out. So I threw the whole thing away and went to my favorite bakery, Madrid European Bakery, and bought some aclairs because who doesn't live in Aquaire? I'm gonna try to make a good impression. Also, I was thinking about it the last time I met somebody's mother, which I've only had one real boyfriend, when I met his mother, I probably brought either nothing or a bottle of wine, and I'm not really sure which one, but it's crazy to think that now I'm over nine years sober and I'm meeting my boyfriend's mom. It's so exciting, and it really is exciting. And I love, I mean, we talk about it sometimes, but like we really in our relationship have like tiptoed into a relationship, like everything's going really slow, and I kind of like it. Like it's really helping me savor the moment. I like really do learn something that I love about him every single time we hang out. Like the other night I had gone to sleep at eight o'clock because I'm off from my restaurant job this week, which is exciting. And I woke up in the morning to a text where he said that he went to the park to shoot some hoops, which is adorable in itself. And he's like, I ran into three Haitian guys and they needed one more person to play two on two. And I'm pretty, you know, obviously pretending I know what that means. And he's like, Yeah, I just shot hoops with them for a couple hours. I'm like, that is literally the cutest thing. And he's like, not to be like dorky or cringy or anything, but he's definitely like, I'm like, you're like a golden retriever, like you're just like down for whatever, and you're so cute. And I realized the other day, I'm like, I'm so lucky. I'm literally someone who's like cute enough to like be in a boy band, you know? And I just like I think he's he's so attractive and I love him as a person. I just like not to be dorky, but like he is my best friend. Like he's my bestie. I love it, it's so cool. That's what Taylor's was said in her song that I don't listen to because I don't listen to Showgirl. But she said, You want to find a best friend who you think is hot. I'm like, it's so exciting. Um, yeah, so I'm gonna meet his family. So I'm nervous, but I'm gonna try to be kind. Well, I'm gonna be kind, obviously. Um, it's also gonna be 100 degrees. So, like, what do I wear? I can't wear my freaking like nun outfit that I was gonna wear in like a button-up cardigan and a long wolf skirt. Ugh. So I'm gonna wear some appropriately length shorts that pass the fingertip test. Um, yeah, so anyway, I wanted to record this podcast because oh yeah. And then he was like, sorry, circling back. He was like, Yeah, you told me I was giving golden retriever energy on like one of our first dates. He's like, I still don't know what that means. I'm like, that makes it even more golden retrievery of you. So I'm having my friends are coming over for the fireworks tonight. So imagine, like, oh my god, this Argentinian, number 24, Google him. Whoa. I just looked up and saw, oh, who the hell? Who the hell is that? Tattooed gorgeous, man. Okay, 24, Argentina. Look him up. Note to self. Do you see how distracted I get? Wowzers. Okay, I love sports. Don't you love sports? It's so fun. So, like when I know my boyfriend's coming over, I definitely like cleaned counters and floors, but my friends are coming over, so I like cleaned the floors. I didn't just like vacuum the floors. So I really like tried to be clean because my house was built in 1680. Nobody believes them when I tell them, but George Washington did come to my house one time, and not like while I was alive, but it's literally the first building that was built in Bristol, so it's very old. My boyfriend should be here in like 13 minutes. So I'm gonna try to say all the things that I want to say. Um yeah, so I cleaned, I went ham, I got like some grapes because my friend said she wanted grapes. Grapes are so delicious, and then I got sweetest, sweetest batch strawberries from Trader Joe's. I got some like pizza bites from Trader Joe's, some unexpected cheddar, and then I left the tasty snacks at my boyfriend's house and I told him to bring them because I will just eat them because I'm a monster. And I think that's also something I wanted to talk about was like my body. I know that sounds like selfish, but I think like I'm in a place where I've dug myself into a hole where as a fitness instructor, you work out a lot, and especially as a smaller, not smaller frames, but like a short girl, it's really hard to maintain a body where like you feel comfortable. So I'm either like almost comfortable with my body or not comfortable at all. And right now I'm in a place where I'm not comfortable at all, but I'm trying to fake it till I make it. But it's like I don't know how much more I can do. But like then I have to like be realistic with myself and realize I am not like everybody else and I can't treat myself all the time. Luckily, I have a ninja creamy, and that's been helping me a lot. I also tested a recipe where I got blackberries and I put them in my ninja creamy and used my immersion blender with just like a vanilla-based, um I know a vanilla-based protein and then a white chocolate sugar-free jello pudding, and then I immersion blended blackberries into it, and I use Xantham gum too as a thickener. So I'm gonna try that. But like if I bought chocolate chips, like I would eat the whole bag. Like I literally cannot keep them in my house. Like, and that's food noise. And I know that's why people go on GLP ones, but I am one of those people who like can't afford it. Um, yeah, I have looked into it because I would love to not have food noise, but also do whatever you want to do. I said that in my last podcast. Please do whatever you do, do what's right for your body. But like for me, I don't want to have to take something my entire life beyond the already, I don't know, 10 supplements I take every day. Because that's what's in my budget. But if you have a bigger budget than me, please, please, oh my god, if I could, honestly, I know this might bite me in the ass, but like if I could be on something that would take away my food noise, oh my gosh, I would be, I would be so much more successful. I I I don't know what people think about all day. Like when you're like if you're not thinking about your body or thinking about like what you're gonna eat next, what are you thinking about? Thank God there's music. Thank God there's music. Thank God there's people, thanks God there's you know, things for me to distract myself with. First of all, the new Madonna album came out today, and holy, what a journey of joy. It is about dance floors, it's about your feelings, it's about letting go, feeling free. There's let me tell you my favorite song so far, because I went to the gym after I got over my morning depression. I like woke up this morning, ate a huge breakfast, and went back to sleep, which is truly my dream. So, since I'm off work, that's what I did. So, my favorite song so far is uh track two, Good for the Soul. Beautiful, amazing. And then I love this song called Everything. It's amazing. And let's see, why do I love it? I think it has a really good beat drop, and then um lyrically, it's a really beautiful album. She has this one song, it's called Love Without Words, I believe. And the way that it um it you have to listen to it with headphones, it goes from one headphone to the other, and you just feel like you're in a beautiful world of music. I'm like, I'm so obsessed. Like, I this is why I have no money because I hear an album like this, and I'm like, I need to be immersed in this, I need to see this live, I need to go to this concert. So um, oh, you know what I do? I have I don't know if my boyfriend listens to this, but I have a list, I have a a note in my note app, and it I was scrolling through it yesterday because I I started keeping it. Oh my god, I hope he doesn't listen to this. I started keeping it as like a like a hookup log, like because we didn't hook up for like a while after we started dating. And I think at the end of the day, I'm so happy because I'm I just I think I just like fall in love with him more every time I I see him, but I'm wildly attracted to him, and I just like feel like I need to stay hot, or in the words of Nikki Glazer, I need to like stay fuckable, you know? So um he's like the greatest motivation for me. But sometimes it doesn't work. Sometimes, like, oh my god, all I want to do is eat. Um so oh my god, what was I talking about? Oh, so I have a note app, and it's just like a log of things that he said to me, or like things that he's done that make me so happy. So, like, God forbid one day I get really mad at him. I could just scroll through this note app and I put the date on it too. So I'll be like, let's see what my last one is. Um oh my god, he's literally so sweet. Um oh, so we were downtown and we were watching the concert. So Bristol Road Island is the town where there was the very first Fourth of July parade, and it's a big deal here. Like everything is red, white, blue right now. Like it is very patriotic. The liquor store was bumping when I went to the grocery store right next to it. Like, it is party town. This is everyone's favorite night of the year. So they have concerts downtown, and they finally put it back where it was supposed to be. So we're downtown, we're like dancing, and we see these cool girls who work at the restaurant that I work at, and I was like, they're in high school and they're just like cool, you know? And I was like, I was like, what is it like being so pretty and like actually cool in high school? And he goes, he goes, you know what's even more impressive is being 38 and beautiful. And I was like, oh my god, like this man just came up with that, and even if he took it out of a TikTok comment section, which I don't think he did, like that's literally the sweetest thing ever. So I am so lucky. Also, he got me flowers for no reason the other day. Like, he's just he's an angel sent from heaven, but he's not a wimp. I want you guys to know that. Okay, he's a strong, beautiful, bicep, gorgeous face, and I love when he gets a fresh haircut, even though I want it to be longer, just to like see what it looks like. All right, here's what I really want to talk about. I really want to talk about Taylor Swift getting married. Now, I love the conspiracy theories of what's happening. She's launching a record label. She's not actually having a wedding there. She's already married. What I've learned about Easter eggs is I don't like them and I don't care to pursue them. I'm just gonna let things happen as they happen, and I'm gonna find out information as it comes out. I don't want to dive deep into it. I don't want to count to 13, like, I don't want to look for clues. I'm not type A like that. I don't care. I'm just gonna let it happen and what belongs to me will find me as far as information goes. However, there is this guy on Instagram. He is a paparazzi that famous people actually don't mind because he's actually very kind. His name is Elder Ordonez One. Let me spell it out for you if you're somebody who loves celebrities. E L D E R O R D O N E Z, and then the number one. He's amazing. So I've been kind of stalking his Instagram today because he's posting people arriving to the wedding and like doing what he can without being fully invasive. And yeah, I mean, everyone's like, she has the the budget to make MS do whatever she wants. Yeah. And I think it's a big venue, contains all of her friends. He's got a lot of friends, and this is the first time she's in a relationship where she can truly feel free and doesn't have to feel like she needs to be super private. And she's the biggest star in the world. She's literally gonna go down in history. Let's say go up in history, like she's not going down anywhere. And she's just, she can do whatever she wants, and she likes to be the center of attention. We've seen that at every award show she goes to. And honestly, I can relate to that. If I had done what I'd done for the world as Taylor Swift, I would want all eyes on me at MSG. Like she feels comfortable there. She can invite all her friends, she can do whatever she wants with her money. It's private as far as she can have it. You know, she's got security, she's got street shut down, like it's amazing. And what I love about this, she has it from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. My girl, my girl, is gonna have a freaking rave tonight. Now, if you remember, a couple years ago, Chella, her and Travis went to the Dom Dollas set at Coachella, and they looked like they were kind of, you know, having a little accessorized fun, a little intoxicated fun. And I am so happy that she can let go, be free, and just like be herself. And I'm so happy for her. I've been so emotional all day, just like listening to Old Taylor, just because I feel like we've been on this journey together. And it's not about like, oh, I'm in a relationship and she's in a relationship too, but like she has truly like she's found her person. Like, she found the guy she wants to spend the rest of her life with, and it's been a really beautiful journey. And we've gone through so many ups and downs. Like, I remember buying Red the album at Target. I went early in the morning for some reason and I bought the CD, and I remember listening to All Too Well and thinking to myself because I was newly in a relationship. I was like, I will never feel this sadness ever. And then, you know, obviously I did feel that sadness, and then she came out with a 10-minute version of my favorite song, and that song has helped us, us, like through so so much, and I just could not be more grateful and I couldn't be more happy. So, with that said, I wanted to tell you about my favorite top five Taylor Swift songs in no particular order, because it depends on the day, it depends what phase I'm in, it depends what season it is. But these are my fives. Actually, let me give you two um what do you call that when it's um they're not part of like your top, but like you would still want to oh, mentions something about mentions honorable mentions. We got there. One, down bad. I mean, I feel like she wrote that song for me. It's called Down Bad, and then goes, Down bad crying at the gym. I mean, that song, the second I heard that, I was like, this song is it's so good. I literally went to Etsy and got a t-shirt that says that. Then my second honorable mention is gonna be Tis the Damn Season. Typically, I only listen to that song in the winter time, but it's so fun to sing. Um, when she says truck tires, I love that she goes a little country with it. Um I love that song, it's so beautiful, and I think we've all had a situation where it's like you go home to your mom's house and you're like excited to see somebody, and it's just like you can call me babe for the weekend. It's a dim season, write this down. So good. Okay, here's my top five. We're gonna start with her first one. Okay, so we'll go by albums. The other side of the door, because the last 30 seconds of that song. Now, don't go, no, don't skip ahead to the last 30 seconds, go through the whole song because it's a journey. The last 30 seconds of that song are the best 30 seconds of my entire life every single time I listen to that song. Amazing. It is country. When she says the word crying and she doesn't say crying, she says crying because she's country at that point. Um, so good. And I I don't particularly love country music, but I do love Taylor Swift, and those are two different things. Okay, second one, we are gonna go to I guess all too well, 10-minute version, Taylor's version. Obviously, it's just a journey, and that song has helped me through so much. And like she likes to say, it's it's been a journey. Hold on one second. Okie dokie, back on. The third one is going to be out of the woods, just because I love a Harry Styles focused song, and that bridge goes so hard, especially when you're driving in the car with the windows down. And um, yeah, I love that song. Plus, when she says something about dancing in the refrigerator light, which isn't that song. When she says moving the furniture, that one's really good too. Um, then we have where am I going? Oh, Evermore, right where you left me. That song took me about three months to learn all the words to. That's probably why it's in my top 10 most listened to songs of all time. And I think we can all relate to it. And I think I'm being really awkward right now because my boyfriend's here. So let's just go through this. And then my final is gonna be So High School. I loved that song before she posted it as her engagement photo song. I just think it sounds like it could have been on like the Lilith Fair tour, like a Sarah McLaughlin, but like on the soundtrack for like American Pie or 10 Things I Hate About You. And I I love when she's being like cutesy and teenagery. Somebody said in the comment today they were like, world's oldest teenager, girl, like let her live her life. So those are my top, I guess, seven Taylor Swift songs. I love you guys so much. Thank you for listening and um happy fourth. Bye.
