Be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only
Be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only
For without a foundation your house will surely fall
It should be built upon Jesus Christ
The Way, the Truth, and the Life

Well, there are all kinds of Christians
Every kind of church you can name
Preaching all kinds of Gospel
With the Law in Jesus' name

Oh don't be deceived, repent and believe
Cast out devils; heal the sick
And the dead receive to life
If you walk in the light

Got you a big ol' church
Got you a swinging door
But the sheep don't know
What we in this religion for

Jesus only did what He saw the Father do
And so should you, so be a doer of the Word
And not a hearer only

Well there are all kinds of prophets
Passing through the land today
Many winds of doctrine
Blowing this and that way
Even denying the Lord that bought them
As they bring in their damnable lies
They're not being doers of the Word
They are deceivers only

You say that Jesus died,
You even say He rose again
You say I've preached the Word
And now it's up to Him
But the Word without the Spirit
It will do you no good
And if you're not holding the Head
You never understood

If you could quote the Bible backwards
It would do you no good
So be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only
