Blue Genes and Boots
First Year's Been Whack with Sam & Steph
Welcome to Blue Genes and Boots everyone!
In this episode, Lily Sanchez and Madison Williamson host two of our first year graduate students, Stephanie McMahon and Sam Franklin, to discuss their research and their experience beginning graduate school amidst a pandemic.
Sam and Steph both joined Dr. Galloway-Pena’s lab in December 2020. Steph joined our program after receiving her bachelors in Microbiology from Colorado State University, and Sam chose to continue her tenure in College Station after completing her bachelors right here at Texas A&M University in Forensic and Investigative Sciences. We got to talk to them about a variety of topics from teaching, to moving during a pandemic, to making friends after college.
