Our bodies are like fragile pots while our true nature is the boundless awareness that exists both within and beyond physical form.

• The body is finite, fragile and breakable like a pot or glass
• When we realize we are the space inside and outside the pot, we transcend physical limitations
• Even when the body dies, consciousness remains unchanged
• In Advaita Vedanta, a guru helps us recognize our true nature as boundless consciousness
• All beings are like pots held within the same vast space of formless awareness
• Shifting identity from body to awareness happens when we notice consciousness perceiving bodily changes
• Nothing can break, destroy or harm your true nature as limitless awareness

Remember, don't cling to the pot - realize the limitless awareness within, and you will never feel small again.

Speaker 1:

Why cling to the pot when you are the space inside and outside it? We often don't realise that this body is like a pot or a glass finite, fragile and breakable. We are time bound, so death can happen, old age, fragility, and we're breakable. Our emotions can sometimes lead us to addictions. But what if we realized that the space inside the glass or pot is like our own awareness it's boundless, it's formless, it's not limited to the pot itself, it's it and without it, not restricted in it. And even if that pot or glass breaks, well, that space remains unchanged. And if that space is like our consciousness, our awareness, then do we break when this body breaks? Do we die when this body breaks? Do we die when this body dies? And that's the ultimate question that has been asked from the times of the rishis, from the Upanishads, and it's been answered in numerous texts, in numerous ways, through numerous religions and numerous philosophies. How do we get to understand this when you have a guru and this is the important thing in Advaita Vedanta, you have to have a guru that gives you the knowledge of Brahman and tells you that this formless consciousness is that boundless space of consciousness that will be there when the body breaks when the body dies, like that pot, has space within and without. It remains that space remains boundless, likewise you, as consciousness remains boundless, and that all beings are literally like these pots. They're all held in that same one vast space. That is the formless. And the more we come to terms that actually maybe we are formless, maybe we're not so tied up to this form, then maybe spirituality will make a bit more sense to us. How do we make this practical for us? How do we understand this?

Speaker 1:

When the body feels heavy, when it feels limiting, when we find ourselves aging, remember, you're not the body. You are that vast space that's within and beyond it. You are that consciousness. You are that awareness of the body aging. You are that awareness of the body in disease. When you say that I'm feeling unhealthy today or I'm feeling unwell today, it's awareness that is telling you first that something is not right with the body. And that's when we can shift our identity from the body to the limitless awareness the most in the first thing ever is this limitless awareness. So we shift our identity from the fragile container to the limitless awareness, like that pot that can drop and break. We can be this limitless awareness that, no matter what happens, nothing can break it, nothing can destroy it, nothing can harm it in any way, and all I can say is really don't cling to the pot, don't cling to the body. Realize that space, realize that limitless awareness within, and I can guarantee you, you will never feel small again. You will feel like the vast, boundless consciousness that you truly are.
