Speaker 1:

And so the experiment is like how can I learn about what works for me and how can I follow that as my compass and not listen to the stories of the mind or where we get trapped, thinking we have to be some way? So, as you're going down this journey, read into your type, read into your strategy, read into your authority and notice, like I think one really good way of doing this is reflecting on your life up until this day.

Speaker 2:

Hey, girlfriend, welcome to Journey to Limitless podcast. Together on this show, we're on a mission to build belief in ourselves and live a life of freedom, despite what tries to hold us back. I'm your host, court, an empowerment coach, travel enthusiast and a chronic illness warrior who, over the last seven years, has built a life that I'm so obsessed with and proud of. But it definitely has not come easy. So on the show, we're going to keep it real as we talk about adapting positive mindsets through hardship, taking action towards our dreams and finding peace and freedom from hustle, culture and chronic stress. Are you with me? Let's get going on your own journey to limitless. I am so excited about today's podcast episode because I've been wanting to have someone on the show to talk with us about human design for probably over two years now, and it just feels so right to have an episode now, as I have been diving deeper into human design over the last two years, especially over the last six months, as I had a human design reading with Amelia, who we have on today. But now I have been actually integrating this tool into my life and today's episode with Amelia we're talking about basically beginners guide to human design, but also sharing our experiences of actually integrating this tool into our life, because that's really where the magic is. There's one thing to learn about this tool, right, which is great. It's a great starting ground, but it's another step to actually take the information and utilize it and integrate it into your life. And I think today's episode hearing my perspective of doing that and Amelia's perspective of doing that I think it can show you how powerful this tool can be if it feels aligned for you. So today's episode, like I said, it's going to be a beginner's guide. So we're going to be talking about the, the types we're talking about. You know what to do when you look at the chart, because it can feel a bit overwhelming, right, like where is a good place to start with human design? And, yeah, we're just talking about authority and our experiences essentially of using this tool, so that you're going to find this episode really information full, but also really insightful, and I hope that you'll enjoy this episode.

Speaker 2:

So, if you do not know your human design, I do have a link in the show notes for you to find your chart and I do think that that would be a great place to start, maybe before listening to this episode because, like I said, we're going to be talking about the types which, if you don't know yours, I can feel a little bit confusing, like what we're talking about. But if you don't want to do that beforehand also, what could be beneficial is to you is when you're listening, just trying to. If you don't know your type, you can probably gain insight onto what your type could be by listening to the descriptions. Maybe you know yourself very well and you can kind of pick up. You're like oh, I think I'm a projector, or oh, I sound like this sounds like me, or things like that. So, either way, however you want to do it is fine.

Speaker 2:

But I just want to share one thing that I love about human design that I think is a misconception is it's not just another personality test. What I love about human design is that you're not using your conscious mind to answer questions which a lot of times, our conscious mind can really bypass our actual experiences. Right, we think that we want to answer things a certain way. Human design really bypasses all of that because you're using your birth time, you're using your birthplace to come up with this chart, which can feel a bit woo-woo for people. Right, there's going to be people who are like I don't want to do that, I don't like astrology, I don't believe in any of that, but you know, and that's if that's you, that's totally okay. But for me, in my experience, it has been so, so confirming, way more confirming than any other personality tests that I've ever had, right, and that's just my personal experience, and I know that so many other people have had that experience as well. So I just suggest having an open mind when it comes to human design and it's not saying that you know to listen to every single part of it, like there may be parts that don't stick and you don't. You know, just don't pay attention to those parts, right? So just really go into it with an open mind, but take what's take what sticks and forget everything else, right?

Speaker 2:

I think Amelia mentioned that in this episode as well.

Speaker 2:

So I will go ahead and get us started with this episode, but I did just want to mention that I will plug Amelia's link for you.

Speaker 2:

If you are interested in booking a human design reading with her, I'll plug it in this show notes and I'll also plug her Instagram. She is at broad and connect. That lets us know that you love this episode and let's your friends know more about human design as well. So I am at journey to limitless underscore. If you want to share this episode with your friends and take us, so let's go ahead and jump right in. Yeah, I am so excited to have you on journey to limitless today. I was just telling you that this just does feel like the right time to have you on to talk all about human design, and I'm just so excited for you to be here to share your knowledge. So, thank you, yeah, thanks for having me.

Speaker 1:

I'm so excited to be here to talk about my favorite thing.

Speaker 2:

So just to get us started, I've had you on the podcast before, so I'll definitely plug the first episode that we did. That way, the listeners can get to know you if they want to get to know you a little bit more. So I just really want to dive straight into human design today. So what exactly is human design, and how did you first get into this and what led you to really want to like study this deeply?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so I'll start with the story and then give a little bit of like, what the heck this is, because that's kind of how it unrolled, unrolled, unraveled in my life. So I was in a nine month training to learn how to facilitate and do leadership and relational work in 2016. And probably somewhere half through or maybe it was in the quarter of that training, I met a woman who presented human design to me and she was also a reflector, ironically, and when we get into more about human design, that will make more sense to everyone here. But she pulled up my chart. You basically put your birth time, date and location in. I put that in and what populated was this very confusing chart of squares and numbers and she looked at me with shock on her face and couldn't believe really how I perceived that. She couldn't really believe that she was seeing what she was seeing, which was somewhat alarming to me.

Speaker 1:

In that moment. I'm like is everything okay? Like am I broken Right? What's going on? And she shared with me that there's this blueprint. That is like you, and she talked about astrology and things that I was very familiar with the time, but I'd never heard of this system. It's a very common thing. It's progressively something that people are starting to learn about and hear, but for the most part, it's not a very common place system and what I like to call it is an awareness language, and so, really, it was a handful of months of me being like this is weird, this is confusing. I don't know about this, completely rejecting it until it kept coming up and it kept coming up and it kept coming up, and then finally I was like, alright, I'm going to start seeing what this is about. What does it mean to live my design, live my life in a way that is an alignment for me.

Speaker 1:

And so, with that being said, human design is a system, like I said, based off your birth time, date and location. Time is really important. For some people, it's going to make a drastic change in a handful of minutes and for some it's not going to make a huge change, depending on the broad brush strokes of your chart. So the more specific you can have for your time, the better. There's many caveats and rabbit holes we could go down about birth time, but, to give more of what human design is, it's a synthesis of the Yi Qing, the Caballet Tree of Life, hindu Brahman's Chakra System, astrology and quantum mechanics. So if any of you are familiar with any one of those different systems, you're going to realize that there's much dimension. There's so much going on with the chart.

Speaker 1:

It's incredibly layered and it's what's called a science of differentiation. It's a science that we're all here different. We're all here to live out different pathways, different ways of being, different. Things that work best for me, that are going to work best for you, and so on and so on. And so for me, it has been the greatest permission slip for me to be different to me, to be like whatever I need to do for me.

Speaker 1:

So that's what human design is, and if you think about everyone as energy, we all have our different ways of interacting in the world with that energy, and so it's an ability. It's a map, if you will. It's a map to seeing and knowing and understanding yourself. It's a map to understanding the curriculums that you're here to go through and grow through, because everyone is again. Everyone's curriculum is going to be different, and challenges and struggles and wins and successes all of that is going to be nuanced. So it really starts to illuminate and peel back the layers of where we can keep diving in and discovering more about ourselves is one of the many ways that I like to say that.

Speaker 2:

And when I had the session with you, amelia, I feel like when I first came to you, it felt like there were so many parts of myself that were conflicting and I didn't understand that part of myself. And through the reading that I had with you, I started to understand like, wow, there really are two conflicting sides to me, like it's not just in my head right, like there really are these two different parts, and it was just very confirming for me and just so, so helpful. And, yes, it definitely has been such a profound roadmap for myself over the last few months of diving. I mean, I'm like always in scroll holes about human design.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I can't stop.

Speaker 2:

People at you know, my friends and I we have this joke of like, what do you do for fun? It's like I look at my human design chart. That's what I do.

Speaker 1:

Of course I am right there with you, yeah, and I'm so glad you bring that up right, because we have inherent paradoxes within us. There are core ways of us being that are sometimes at odds, and I like to say, you know, if everything was sunshine and rainbows and smoothie and groovy it never said that before, but smooth and groovy, it really like life wouldn't be as dynamic and interesting. And so if we were able to see what are the parts of us that maybe are at tug of war with themselves sometimes, or maybe, you know, for me there's a part of me that could be really shy and internal and very like introvert, and then there's also a part of me that's very extrovert and loves to be with people and has that different way of orchestrating with the world. So it's really interesting when we can see these different aspects of us, how much more permission we can give to ourselves.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, 100%. So I'm just curious what the like, what are some misconceptions or misunderstandings that people have about human design? How would you clarify or address them?

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, there's so many. I love this question. I think some of the biggest ones that I see often and feel pretty passionate about is that, as I said, you know, everyone is going to be different, and especially in a world where we're introducing systems right and we're helping people understand entry points into the system, one of the places that gets talked about a lot is the types, and the type is the main way your energy is really interacting the world, and it's the thing that gets probably the most airtime. And yet if we're only to take that and be like, oh, I'm like that type, I'm like a projector who apparently needs naps a lot and doesn't have that much energy and needs rest and blah, blah, blah, right, like there's a lot of narrative around that for projectors. Well, not all projectors are going to experience that, and so I think that there can be lots of ways that we can box ourselves into parts of the chart, and I've done this myself, right, I've been like you're a reflector, you have to wait all the time, right, and yet there are. So, again, there's so much nuance as you get further and further in, and so if something doesn't resonate for you when you're reading about human design. There may be a chance that it's because there's deeper levels of you right, like there's something that has a difference with that. So you know, I really honor that.

Speaker 1:

We all have to find our entry point, whatever that may be and whatever resonance that says wow, right, like that's a permission slip for me. I know my partner. He hates being boxed into the projector box but he loves being boxed into the profile box. He's like, oh, this part of me like is scary. It's scary how I'm on point, it is right. So I find that again, like, as you're going down this rabbit hole, if you choose to go down the rabbit hole with human design, like really you're the authority of your experience and if something's not quite resonating for you or doesn't land immediately, okay, great. Like let yourself, you want to marinate on it. Sometimes the mind like wants to get it and yet some things just need to be with time and need to be with perspective and experimentation. So I think that's a huge one that I see often.

Speaker 1:

Another one is just like the way that we can compare ourselves through how we experience the world. Right, it kind of comes back to the same thing but, like you know, even if I have similar gates another aspect of human design, a part of it, our own personal expression. If I have similar gates to someone else, there's a deeper level that may make it a little more nuanced. So, again, I understand and I honor where we have an entry point and I also recommend, like, get a reading. You know, go, have someone hold your hand for the first few steps of the pathway if you feel excited by that. And the other thing I'll say is that, as a reader myself and a coach with this work, every single coach and every single reader is going to have their own perspective of the chart.

Speaker 1:

And you know, yes, we can receive what's called source information, which is like the original information of human design and, like I'm going to filter it through my experience, you know, and my own, like personal gifts and for me, as a reflector, right, I'm going to be a mirror to you and I'm also based on what's called your incarnation cross.

Speaker 1:

I'm throwing out a lot of words here, y'all, but incarnation cross is like the storyline of your life, right? So, based on mine, mine is about creating direction for people, is about being someone who helps you be heard and gives guidance, right. So that's my personal flavor of human design. If you get someone else who has more of, like, a confronting way of presenting the information, or someone who's like all about love, right, Like every single person's going to do it differently. So also highly recommend, as you go down this pathway, find out like who resonates with you, whose energy, whose message, whose way of being is really going to give you what feels like okay, that's a teacher for me, right? So also paying attention to that, because we're all going to do it differently.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I think that's so important. There's a couple things.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think that's a really important kind of disclaimer with all of this, because, yes, you know, yeah, I just think it's with you know, it's just like coaching. It's like there's going to be different people who have different perspectives, like we're all yeah, we all come in with different life experiences that can impact in everything. So I think I just really appreciate that you had that, really that disclaimer of, like you know, read into who you're getting a reading from and make sure that that person it feels right, that you want to, because this is like this is information that can really shift, you know, so many parts of your life. So it's just important to be mindful of who you are learning this information from and make sure that it's aligned with you and feels right. Yeah, yeah, definitely.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So obviously, when you first see this chart, it is like what the heck? Like what is this Right? So, and I know that there's going to be someone who's probably already, you know, if they're sitting at home listening to this, they're probably already have this chart pulled up maybe as they're listening to this, or like what the heck do I do with this? So, and obviously there's so many different parts of human design that we can go into that we quite literally don't have all the time for in one podcast episode. So today, I guess I just want to know, like what, what would you help us navigate this chart and what would you? Yeah, those are the important parts of the chart that someone should pay attention to as a beginner.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so yeah, I think the biggest thing is, if you notice yourself getting overwhelmed by the chart, pick something right, like, something that stands out to you. That's one route you can take, right? I think a lot of people talk about type, strategy and authority as the most important part, and I agree, right, like, if there's any way you're going to start learn your type, learn your strategy, learn your authority even more so, learn your strategy and authority based on that type and based on what you have going on in the chart when you're going through human design. And really, the invitation is that this is an experiment and more specifically, what is it an experiment of? It's an experiment of how can I be more true to what is real for me, what is I feel, what I experience, what I notice in the world, than I am enticed or committed or distracted by all the ways that I've told to be some way Right and how we've been taught, how we've been conditioned to be on this planet. It's not our fault, right, like? We were given parents that had their beliefs and upbringings and what have you teachers, mentors, friends, communities, churches, whatever it is right, and we've been given these pathways in our life that we're told to follow, whether that's this is how you brush your teeth, this is how you cook, this is how you nourish yourself, this is how you go to school, you don't go to school. What you pay for, what you don't pay for, like all of that in many ways, is we're told that there are certain pathways that are optimal for us, or acceptable or normal, and so human design is really this invitation to really return to yourself as the agent of your experience, and there's I mean, I don't really believe that there's a possibility of untangling yourself from everything. Right, like, to live on this planet is to interact with all the things that are just constantly in our field of awareness and not in our field of awareness right From ancestral lines or whatever as well.

Speaker 1:

And so the experiment is like how can I like learn about what works for me and how can I follow that as my compass and not, you know, listen to the stories of the mind or where we get trapped, thinking we have to be some way. So, as you're going down this journey, right like, read into your type, read into your strategy, read into your authority and notice, like I think one really good way of doing this is reflecting on your life up until this point around, how those things have fit in. And this is something that I do in my sessions I have. My personal sessions are very much a conversation, right, like I have no idea what it's like to be you truly, and so I ask and I tease out and like, here's the things that I see in your chart how do you feel that shows up for you? And so the really the mining of that experience of being able to recognize, yeah, I can really see where I've been bitter in my life and where that really has been a painful part of my experience, and I can really see where I've listened to my body and it's been the thing that I just knew that I had to listen to my whole life, but I didn't know why, right? So these are the conversations that we can start having just by reading into pieces.

Speaker 1:

So type strategy, authority would be definitely the places I always start and then follow your experiment right, follow what find feels exciting for you If you want to get into the profile, if you feel interested in the each thing and you want to get into the gates, right, like there's again, there's so many entry points into the system and mine was definitely my authority. I'll say that my authority to wait a lunar cycle is what a reflector's strategy is, and that was my entry point is like, okay, this is absolutely crazy, but I'm going to see what happens if I check in with myself over the course of 28 days about a major choice. So those are. Those are a handful of things that I would say on that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think what's been helpful for me is, yes, you know, I have this app and sometimes I will literally like I'll see this pattern in my life and I'll just go check. You know, I'm really into like knowledge of like the gates and the gifts and everything right now and I'm going through and I'm like oh like kind of reading about it and I think it's just, it's just like noticing what's going on in your life and seeing if there's something in your chart that can give you that insight, or just just like focusing on one piece at a time, learning to integrate one piece at a time, If it is. You know your, your profile, yes, just noticing. Maybe noticing like the, the energy that you have towards, yeah, just whatever, whatever you know profile or type, that you are just looking into one piece at a time, for sure.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I'm curious to hear your experience. Like I know you were like dancing and dancing and dancing and then you did a session and then it seems like it's just like taking its own, its own life of its own and I'm curious like how you found that work for you in your life. Like diving in or just yeah, has it been like one piece of time? Or yeah, what? What have you found works for you? Just to give another experience.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think I, I mean yeah, a lot of times I just I look into the app like the my human design app and I will literally just like, I'll just read about it on like a nightly base, on a nightly basis.

Speaker 2:

And a lot of times I'll just go through the next day and I'll just I don't know, I just there's just different things that I that I come up like, especially when it comes to like responding.

Speaker 2:

That's been something that has been coming up for me a lot lately, because actually this came up the other day because generators we I'm a generator and we, we respond to things and the other day I was like trying to create content for my business and I was staring at this blank page and of like a Word document and I was stuck and I was like trying to put myself in a box of like I have to just like create and in reality I then I looked into my human.

Speaker 2:

It's like responding. It's like actually what I should have done is like looking at a template or looking at the, you know, asking myself a question of like you know, do I want to write about this today? Yes, no, because my response is always like a yes. No, it's very, very clear. It's not these like these extensive ideas or you know answers are these big, you know, you know answers it's just simple yes or no. So I noticed that and that's why the past few days, especially when it comes to my business, I'm like really trying to integrate my human design because I've been feeling really stuck and I know that I just feel that the you know, listening to my human design is really gonna help me get over that, you know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I really appreciate it right, just like I'm a reflector. So my 28 days is a strategy and you're a generator and yours is to respond right. And so just even hearing these, these two different backgrounds I mean for me when I reflect on my journey learning about human design. I Just inhaled everything similar to what you're talking about. I wanted to read everything, I wanted to pull up every single person start my life. I wanted to study their charts and ask them questions and feel what it felt like to be them. I like that was my experience going through this, and so I think that there's no right or wrong way to do this, you know, and I think the biggest thing is like Observe yourself you know, observe what feels natural to you.

Speaker 1:

And if you're, if you read something that's like I should be doing, this, like notice, if you try to put yourself in that way of being and if it doesn't feel right or if you try something else right, so like, yeah, as a generator, responding like maybe you just haven't had the thing to respond to, that's actually giving you the energy to like put towards it. You know, and sometimes it creates it. There's a waiting process with that if you don't have something were to respond to. And that's not like you need to do anything differently, it's just, yeah, something to be observing of yeah, and it can be a little bit uncomfortable too.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and that's, that's really what it is.

Speaker 2:

And also, when you told me we're not gonna get into the the environment today, but you also told me that my environment was, was kitchen's dry and I really thrive in coffee shops I'm like, okay, so that's why I always want to go to a coffee shop you know, that's why when I'm at a coffee shop, I literally can just like put my head down and like, you know, so it's just, there's been so many things like I noticed these patterns of my life, I noticed the, I noticed these aspects of my life, and then human design has just been like so confirming of that.

Speaker 2:

I'm like, okay, there's something here like wow, if and especially when it comes to these things of like, things that have been difficult for me, that I notice. I try to look at things like. I said the thing the other day where I was struggling with content. I was like, okay, but if I actually listen to my human design, maybe this actually could be much simpler for me. Maybe I'm doing it in the way that I'm actually not, you know, supposed to. That's not like right for me. So, yeah, I think it's just noticing, noticing the what's coming up for you in life, feelings of being stuck, overwhelm. Yeah, there's just, there's so many things that can give us insight when it comes to human design.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, just the permission slip right.

Speaker 1:

It's like, oh, I'm not weird that I want this, or not Broken because I want that, or it just it's to me is the path of least resistance.

Speaker 1:

And I think sometimes I've never thought of it like this, but I find that if any of us and I can speak for myself in this, like have had Experiences of it being hard to trust yourself, like, for whatever reason, you've erupt your trust with yourself, which I think many of us do quite often, especially in a world where we're kind of told to be some way, it can take time to build that trust again.

Speaker 1:

And so for me, being able to have this companion in my life, that's like, hey, yeah, that that makes sense that you're that way and it's okay that you need to take more time to be the way that you're being and to gain perspective. It's, it's really been a healing process of having a companion Alongside my journey, to be like, yeah, that's, that's good for you. Yeah, keep honoring that thing. And hasn't an inherently built trust within myself to keep being like I trust you, what you're doing, what you're saying, with the way you're going about this, like, even if people don't accept it, even if people are Confronted by it like I trust you right. So I've never thought of it that way, but it feels very true to me to recognize, like how Profound it is to have the ability to cultivate that self-trust yes and self-acceptance.

Speaker 2:

Yes, exactly, I think that's. The other thing is that there's like a deep sense of self-compassion that I feel like human design has given me. You know, and there's just so many great, great things that human design has brought into my life that I'm just like, I'm just so, I mean it is, it's like it's so much You're, I feel like there's. I uncover something new every single time that I dive in. I mean it really is a complex system but like it is such a beautiful journey to deepen your understanding of yourself and build self-compassion and Just really get to know yourself. So, as far as, like, I want to leave the listeners with a little bit of knowledge about human design. So I guess, if you wanted to go kind of go into like the types or what are like the like the things that you think are really important that you want to like cover today, to leave the listeners with yes, yeah, awesome.

Speaker 1:

So, as far as the type goes, there's four core types and then there's one subtype and the. I'll talk about the strategy for each one and and like kind of an indicator that you can take away for you to to play with in this experience of life. So 70% of the world is made up of what are called generators and 35%, roughly, are pure generators and 35% are gonna be manifesting generators, and so most of the world is is really operating at, at this type of, in this type of way, and what this is is these people are the creators, the builders, the generators, literally right, like they're the battery packs of life, they're the life force. That is, to me, why we have a life, a Society, that's like great, great, great, do, do, do, go, go, go, produce, produce, produce, right. When you think of the word creative, it doesn't mean you need to be an artist or be artistic. It may mean that you're building a life in some way, creating a family, creating something that like is literally pouring your life into it in some way. Shape and form.

Speaker 1:

When you are Doing your strategy, when you're like, your strategy is basically the best way that you can orient the world, approach life, and so, as Courtney was saying, for Generations generators, it's about responding, and the way I think of responding is, instead of trying to make life happen or force things where you you're probably gonna come up with a lot of frustration, it's really about the invitation to let life come to you and to I think of like the submarine right. The submarine has the sonar sound and it tracks what is or is in its like field of awareness, and so I think of that. For the generator right, like what are you naturally attracting in your life? And For jet pure generators, there's much more likes, I would say like slow, methodical way of being generally, and for manifesting generators, it can be very much like a zero to a hundred right. Again, there are caveats within that, based on what your chart looks like, but that is is the general aspect and always letting life come to you and responding to take next steps forward. So that's the generator world and that's what what Courtney is she's generator and then 20% of the population are our Projectors and they're like the guides, the orchestrators.

Speaker 1:

They do a lot, they generally do well with a lot of moving parts, and these are the people that just see you right. They see through the bullshit. They cut through and have perspectives to to notice things that many people won't notice in the ways that they do, and they are their best positioned in places where they're guiding others. They do really well with generators in a work capacity because they can really use the generator energy, what they have energy for to make things more efficient. So the message for projectors is really work smarter, not harder, and to really find your efficiency and your effective ways of being a leader in the world. Right, you can be any type and be a leader, and yet I think of projectors really being this leader that can find most effective ways of operating together, and so the strategy for a projector is called wait for the invitation.

Speaker 1:

I personally think of waiting for the invitation as like noticing where you have open doors and noticing where there are closed doors. Open doors may feel like an invitation or a recognition or someone really seeing you in a way that you can really give your perspective, that you have the invitation literally to share your advice, share your opinion, share your perspective, and when you don't have a closed or when you don't have an open door, right when the door is closed, if you're trying to give your perspective, your opinion, have the job, whatever. Right, trying to force life to happen in some way. That's going to create a lot of bitterness for the projector. So for the generator types, the two words to pay attention to are where are you finding satisfaction and where is frustration emerging in your life? Right, they are indicators. It's not like you've done something wrong if you're experiencing frustration, but it may be an invitation to check in and to come back to yourself. And then for the projector, it's bitterness and success. So where and who are those places that you're feeling that bitterness? And maybe there's a different way of orienting to the situation or the person that could lend to something else? Right, lend to being seen, lend to being recognized, lend to being successful. That's ultimately what they're here for is to be successful, and to the sun is like encroaching on me. And so those are the two I'd start with. Just projectors and generators. Right, making up most of the world.

Speaker 1:

Then we have our manifestors, and manifestors are 9% of the population, and these are the initiators, these are the visionaries, the creators that spark things in the world, and they are here to make life happen in one way, shape or form. Generally, these tend to be people that are lone wolves and can be very independent. Right, and I think of the manifestors, as, to me, some of the greatest things that have happened in my life have been initiated by manifestors. And they are, you know, they're the one that hits the first domino, often, and have a very, very powerful impact. And, to this day, one of my favorite things that's ever been said about manifestors by a manifestor who's also a reader he said manifestors are like the sun when the sun rises, you know, and when the sun sets, you also know. And so this is really speaking to just like the visceral impact that these people have on their environments and the people that they're with, whether they like it or not. Right, the sun doesn't choose to be impactful, it just is.

Speaker 1:

And so, manifestors, for your strategy, it's to inform and to initiate, and so informing to me is like it's really a nicety for the rest of us, who sometimes don't always understand what you may be doing or not doing. And so, by sharing, like, hey, this is the direction, this is what I'm doing, this is what I envision, this is what I want to create, right, and it's not like you're asking permission, you're informing. Right, you're saying this is the direction I'm going, this is what I'm up to, and so and it allows people to be initiated by your path. And the two indicators for the manifestor are anger right, when you're being told what to do, or when you can't do the thing that you want to do and people get confronted by it, that's where anger can show up. I also think of it as like self-implosion, because anger isn't always easily expressed in a society that doesn't really know how to handle anger. And then it's peace right. To me, watching a manifestor do its thing is like watching a candle flame. It can be very peaceful and easeful and beautiful. Right, it's captivating, and so they really just want to peacefully get on with whatever it is that they envision.

Speaker 1:

And then, last but not least, we have the reflector, and the reflectors are 1% of the population this is what I am and reflectors are kind of these oddballs, if you will, in that we change based on the moon, based on who's around us. We're here to taste life and to experience all the different ways that life can be, and we're here to become incredibly wise, and so the reflectors are really more like the evaluator of life. Right, they're here to be at the center of communities, at the center of groups and reflect back the health, the wellness, the intricacies of the groups and the people and the environments and the communities that they are immersed in. And so it's really important for a reflector to be around people that feel good to them, because they're going to reflect them for better or for worse. Right, sometimes they won't always feel like a choice and the strategy for the reflector there's not necessarily an inherent part of you every day that's going to speak the same to you in the ways that some of the other types might have. And so our invitation is for things, the whole gravity, to wait over the course of 28 days to make major choices, because again, everything is going to change. I could get really excited, for example, about something Courtney's doing that she's excited about and think, oh my gosh, I'm excited about that thing too, and then leave Courtney and not have that same juice, that same energy, that same aliveness for whatever that thing is. And so that's the invitations.

Speaker 1:

Like to me, what I've found in my experiments as a reflector is what are the things that are snowballing and building in momentum and what are the things that just evaporate, dissipate almost instantly or over the course of a few days, right, and this is my process is really paying attention to what is building in momentum and feels more and more progressively part of my path and what's just was energy that was fleeting and I was tasting it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so the two indicators for the reflector are disappointment, right? Disappointment if I was like, yes, courtney, let's do that, let's put it on the books, and then I disappoint you and I'm actually not that invested and I disappoint me because I got excited and I let you down and all this thing. Right, disappointment. Lived a life of that before you went to sign. And then a surprise of like, oh my God, I could never have predicted all of this coming into fruition by me waiting over the course of whatever amount of time, right? So it's a patient process, patient game as a reflector and, as you may have guessed, in a society that is very fast. It's kind of the antithesis I admire your patient path?

Speaker 2:

Does it ever feel like uncomfortable to be like? All right, I just have to be patient Like, or are you yeah? I'm sure it was before you. Oh yeah, I'm sure before Human Design you were bumping up against that.

Speaker 2:

A lot of like, yeah, oh my gosh, I can see that like it feels like I mean, obviously Human Design can be really impactful for really any type, and I can say that as a generator, because I think there was, like you know, I've heard from people that were like, oh, human Design doesn't really matter unless you're like a projector or a reflector, and it's like, actually, as a generator. It's, you know, it is profound, no matter what your type is, just because it is so intricate, right, but I can imagine, like you know, as a projector, who you know, I see a lot of my friends who are projectors, who they were comparing themselves to you know, their generator friends and, you know, thinking that something was wrong with them. So, yeah, I think it's just as important to note that truly, there's nothing wrong with you. It's just, you know there's, yeah, there's just there's some things going on in Human Design that that's just important to to have awareness around that there's nothing wrong with you, just your human designs different.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I really, I really appreciate you saying that, and I think a big thing that I've gotten from generators in particular is like I'm I'm just average, like I'm 70% of the population, like I'm not special, and yet that could not be further from the truth in my experience. Right Like, just because there's a world where most of the population is a certain type doesn't mean that you don't have new ones again within your chart, right Like. You may feel aspects of resonance with other types based on what your chart looks like. And so I just over and over again, like, if you feel disheartened or like I'm not special, right Like.

Speaker 1:

I think a thing I get a lot as as a reflector is people are very shocked and like, oh my God, you're a reflector, and they get so excited because many people have never met or reflected, at least not with awareness. And even when I've had readings, other readers are like oh my gosh, you're like the first or second reflector I've ever done a reading for, because it's so rare and I would say I've done a handful of reading reflectors at this point, but it's still exciting for me, you know, and yet I'm I'm got my specialness, just like you've got your specialness. So, like I think that's another thing is is is knowing that, no matter what type you are, there's still so much that is nuanced and unique and special to you and you are the only one that can live out you in the way that you do.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and through our reading, amelia, I remember you saying that in some aspects I actually act more like a projector. I think there was something with, like, my sensitivity of like, that's how I can kind of have more projector. You know tendencies, I guess you could say. Or like, yeah, just you know, getting worn out in my environment because of that sensitivity. So, yes, it's not just like. I think I will say what I found out, that when I found out that I was a generator, I was like, okay, like I don't know, you know, whatever I'm special, like I feel different, but it's like, yes, we're all so different and that's the beautiful thing about diving deeper into this and, like you know, recognizing, learning about your gates and learning about your gifts, and there's truly so much more to human design and truly, no one is, no, none of us are the same. You know we're all one, but we're like also different. That's so beautiful.

Speaker 1:

Totally yeah, and I think about a thriving ecosystem. You know, like, thriving ecosystems aren't just one way, they're not one type of plant and unfortunately that's what we're trying to do a lot, especially to the agriculture industry of monocropping. If it's to speak to anyone, great. If you're like, what is she talking about? That's okay. But I think about a lot of different aspects of life, of how this applies to it and like ecosystems where there's only a couple different plants and only a couple different species aren't necessarily thriving. And yet when you go to those biodiverse environments where there's lots of different things going on and there's lots of different types and plants and atmospheres and all the things, right, like it's thriving.

Speaker 1:

And so I think about that with our species of human beings, where we're, like, trying to make a certain amount of people the same way, like carbon copies of one after the other and being like these are the ways that you have to be this pathway, this is the doctor pathway and this is the teacher pathway and this is the fill in the blank. And yet if we forget and we lose touch of all our different diversities within ourselves, we're doing a detriment to this planet. And so, like, how can we remember our diversity and remember the different ways that we have to contribute to the planet to create something that is thriving, that is teeming with life, because we're being true to ourselves, right? So this is something I think about nature all the time in application to human design and life, and very much one with nature. Right, we are nature, and so how can we remember that we have our unique contribution to this planet, based on how different we're willing to be?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and with that like truly, I feel like human design was such a boost to my confidence as well. With that of like wow, I do have gifts, right, because you know there are so many. It's just so. I think it can help you live a life of more, more gosh, what's the word? What's the word? What's the word?

Speaker 1:

It's like it's ridiculous Authenticity.

Speaker 2:

Jesus, I'm like.

Speaker 1:

I use that word all the time. I think I was getting confused with authority and then authenticity.

Speaker 2:

I was like what's happening?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 2:

It can help you live a life of more authenticity, because I think a lot of times there can be a lot of fears of showing up as who we are, but then when we have that confirmation of like no, this is actually. I think that sometimes we can go in with like we know who we are. But then sometimes, with these tools of like human design, it can actually be very confirming but that is actually who you are and it's okay to show up as a more expressed version of you, right? Like? One of the things that came through my chart is like you know, I am meant to beat to my own rhythm and I've always felt that and it was just so confirming of like, yeah, I am supposed to do that. So you know, it's just, and it gives me more permission. That permission slip, right, I was like okay, yes, I'm going to start doing that more. Right.

Speaker 2:

And I think what also is important is again with like when it comes to a generator, it's like I think what you said of like you know, the manifesters are here to like guide people. I think at first, when I read that I wasn't a manifestor, I was like but I like feel like I'm supposed to guide people, but then in my chart it did talk about. You know, there are parts of my chart that it's like no, you are here to guide people, so you can't just go off of like what you just hear from your type, right, and there's so much more to it that can be confirming to you Like you have these desires within you. You'll probably find something within your chart that is going to confirm that for you.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, absolutely. I mean, you know, it's just so interesting to be in the space of inquiry around all of this, right, and something that has, as continues to be, important for me is, like, don't take things at face value. Keep being curious, keep leaning in and finding out. Like, oh okay, that's really powerful information. But, like, what else is there? Right, like curiosity is so, so, so helpful in this process, and you know I have people be like, well, sometimes I feel like I'm this, but like, is that my chart? I'm like, if it feels true for you, try it out.

Speaker 1:

You know, like, I think if we like tell ourselves we can only be the parts of the chart, then we're like doing ourselves a massive disservice, right, because, like we, we are all going to find our own unique experiment and then discoveries from what we choose to lean into right, and no one on this planet has ever been you before. So it's like no one else is going to synthesize or understand human design in the way that you personally are going to experience it, no matter how many different things you read, right? So, again, like just really wanting to empower each person to do their own discovery and like, yeah, find support if that feels like part of your path and you want to do a reading. And if you're like I'm, a books person, I just want to read to all ends of the earth. Great study, whatever finds like what, what lights you up? You know what feels calling to you.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and I think, I think, yes, it is such an important note of like don't discount what, what does feel true to you, just because you're not seeing what you want to quote, unquote in your chart, Like what you're, what you desire, is there for a reason and it's important to. Yeah, just not not get so hung up on. You know needing that confirmation. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Right, right, yeah, yeah, and each, each part, reveal, like we'll reveal stuff more and more of time. I mean, I can't tell you how many times I returned to my own chart and then like, oh yes, that totally right, and it's finding me, the information is finding me in the perfect moment for what I need to hear you know, like, as I imagined, happened for you too, and I think that is.

Speaker 2:

It's just a tool. It's just a tool to come back to yes, like, and I think that the right parts will show up when we need them the most. You know, like, the other day I found out about the the, you know, when I was saying that I was staring at the blank page. I was on an Instagram account for generators and I found that I was like okay, today I was literally just sitting here staring at a blank page and I had a whole post about how generators that's common for them, right? So it happens at the right time.

Speaker 2:

And just you know when it comes to being new, to human design. Just taking what you feel is going to be important for you in this part of your life right now to help. Yeah, so definitely, yeah, so totally. Thank you for your time today, amelia.

Speaker 2:

I feel like we could have gone so much longer, because there's so much to dive into, so I guess out, because obviously we don't have much more time to go through anything else. I guess if you wanted to leave, like is there anything else that you think is really important for the listeners when it comes to their human design? Like is there any other aspects that you would say to dive into on their own that can give them a lot of insight in their life?

Speaker 1:

Hmm, something that's coming to mind is reading about your incarnation cross. Your incarnation cross is like the plotline of your life, right, like the movie of you. You'll see this story start to unfold and you're the main character and there's certain qualities that you bring to the movie that are unique to you. But reading that was one of the very few first things that I did on my journey and it gave me a sense of like OK, this is the story that I'm here to play and not to try and make it happen. Right, like the incarnation cross isn't something you make happen, it just really unfolds as you're living more and more true to yourself. But it gave me almost like a highlighter or a flashlight to see some things that I hadn't really paid attention to or noticed before and gave me more permission to lean into those if they emerged on my path.

Speaker 1:

I definitely have had a path, a past of feeling a lot of fear or second guessing myself or feeling inadequate and all of those things, and so when I saw that I'm here to do it my way and I'm here to do it right, I think one part of my incarnation cross is something like you don't mean to tell people what to do, but you do just by being you and it's just part of your path and you're here to inspire others to follow what's true for them.

Speaker 1:

And when I learned of like so much of it is self, self self expression and leadership and guidance and like creating direction for people, I was like, oh yeah, I've been doing that my whole life but didn't really know that, and so it just it just again. It put like an awareness language into all those moments. And so I think sometimes just having like language or ways to express ourselves from what we're experiencing in the world can be really helpful and like almost like soften the fears or the doubts of oneself at times. So that's that's one thing that's coming to mind. I could say a bajillion things, but that's what I'm thinking of in this moment.

Speaker 2:

That's actually the one that I have been diving in that I was like diving into yesterday. I actually messaged my friend. I was like what's your incarnation?

Speaker 2:

Yes, I was like but yes, my, my incarnation cross was just when I read mine I was like that it just it was so, again, just confirming, I was like, wow, that really is like my life theme of exactly what I'm doing with this podcast and exactly what I mean I've been saying what came, what mine is like all about flow and learning flow and like mastering flow in my life and then guiding others.

Speaker 2:

And it's funny because I've been feel like that's been like my whole life, like I remember being a little kid and like I love the word flow, like I was like I just want to go with the flow. I'm like okay. So when I read it I was like like there's truth here I understand.

Speaker 2:

So, yes, I agree that the incarnation crosses just really pro. It's just really profound insight and I think it just for me, you know, when I can start to show up as like my not me, my not self I think it's also just reminding myself to kind of lean into that flow. It's just that reminder, you know, of that's like my life journey and select, learn how to let again kind of like a generous, like letting life kind of come to me, versus trying to go out and create, make life happen. So yeah, so I think it's just a beautiful, beautiful reminder. So thank you for that. I feel like that.

Speaker 2:

that feels, really true for this podcast. So yeah, thank you. Amelia for your time today and again. We could go on and on and on, but I feel like today was just a really great accomplishment of getting someone started into human design and I hope that it. You know someone took something away from this podcast and I'm sure that they did. So. Where can the listeners find you? To connect with you? Maybe book a human design reading with you? Give us all the details, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so you can find me at Amelia Broughtoncom Amelia M-E-L-I-A and then Broughton B-R-O-U-G-H-T-O-Ncom, and all of my accounts will be linked to there. But Broughton Connect is my Instagram account. I, as a reflector, does really share whatever is true, and sometimes that's human design, sometimes that's human communication, sometimes that's like I don't know everything that I'm interesting. T seems to be taking over to my life right now, so that's something that you'll find there. But I find myself to be a very dynamic human being in terms of what I'm interested in, so you'll find all of that there. But as far as the session, I offer one-on-one sessions, also coaching and relationship sessions, and so you can explore whatever avenue to understand yourself. You know, when you put two charts together, you get a third chart, so relationships can be really, really, really rich and all of that is on my website.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I attended Amelia. She did a relationship, human design and relationships workshop and the day that I went to them, that was I was like, okay, I need to book my session with her now.

Speaker 2:

So definitely human design can just be really profound when it comes to helping us understand the people around us too. So thank you, thank you, thank you, amelia, for today, and I'm just so grateful for you. So thanks, yeah, same Thank you. Thank you so much for tuning in. It means so much to me that you're here and that you're taking the time to listen to the podcast. If you found this episode to be valuable to you, it would mean so much to me if you shared it with your friends, who you think could also really benefit from this message. You can take a screenshot of your listening and tag me in your Instagram stories. I am at journey to limilist underscore. That also gives me the chance to connect with you and say thank you. So until next week, I hope that you have an amazing week ahead of you.
