He is the David and Lucile Packard Professor of Human Biology and is the director of the Symbolic Systems Program. Mike studies language use and language learning, with a focus on early word learning. In this episode, they talk about his recent book on early language acquisition, Variability and Consistency in Early Language Learning: The Wordbank Project. Mike also shares how the research has informed his own parenting practices.
