You start from a different starting place,  "},{"startTime":112.38,"endTime":117.36,"body":"but when you pull people together from different "},{"startTime":112.38,"endTime":117.36,"body":"professions, different lived experiences who don't  "},{"startTime":117.36,"endTime":122.94,"body":"know one another,  that's a...you're upping "},{"startTime":117.36,"endTime":122.94,"body":"the ante there and trying to be able to create a  "},{"startTime":122.94,"endTime":129.12,"body":"psychologically safe space. I don't know if "},{"startTime":122.94,"endTime":129.12,"body":"you're in a place where you could speak to the  "},{"startTime":129.12,"endTime":135.0,"body":"deliberate intentional things you do to make "},{"startTime":129.12,"endTime":135.0,"body":"that happen or if you have any insight that you  "},{"startTime":135.0,"endTime":139.2,"body":"could share with others that might be helpful "},{"startTime":135.0,"endTime":139.2,"body":"and how do you create create that safe space  "},{"startTime":139.2,"endTime":144.48,"body":"especially when it's strangers from different "},{"startTime":139.2,"endTime":144.48,"body":"professions and different lived experiences?"},{"startTime":146.76,"endTime":154.5,"body":"Every year we bring together probably somewhere "},{"startTime":146.76,"endTime":154.5,"body":"in the vicinity of 100 plus multi-professional  "},{"startTime":154.5,"endTime":163.02,"body":"and multi-disciplinary faculty to come teach "},{"startTime":154.5,"endTime":163.02,"body":"at BASE Ccamp. It includes people from  "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":163.02,"endTime":170.28,"body":"nursing, child life, trauma, "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":163.02,"endTime":170.28,"body":"obviously emergency medicine, pediatric emergency  "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":170.28,"endTime":175.26,"body":"medicine, critical care, anesthesiology even "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":170.28,"endTime":175.26,"body":"sometimes things like ENT. Michelle had said "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":186.36,"endTime":195.06,"body":"something that resonated with me, which was she's a  "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":195.06,"endTime":201.66,"body":"educational expert, she's a clinical expert, but her "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":195.06,"endTime":201.66,"body":"field isn't pediatric emergency medicine. Yet  "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":202.2,"endTime":209.04,"body":"her role at BASE Camp was so critical because "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":202.2,"endTime":209.04,"body":"what we what we look for are people  "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":209.04,"endTime":217.62,"body":"who bring educational expertise to elevate the way that we practice and so when it  "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":217.62,"endTime":223.98,"body":"comes to celebrating the many multi-professional "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":217.62,"endTime":223.98,"body":"and multi-disciplinary faculty who come we want  "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":223.98,"endTime":229.14,"body":"to set them up for success. We huddle together as a  "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":276.6,"endTime":282.42,"body":"multi-professional team of faculty in the morning. "},{"speaker":"all different fields","startTime":276.6,"endTime":282.42,"body":"I mean it's God awful early in the morning. It's  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":282.42,"endTime":291.36,"body":"45 AM or something or "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":282.42,"endTime":291.36,"body":"six AM. O dark thirty. Yeah. We have a shared mission. I mean that is tremendous. When "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":466.98,"endTime":473.7,"body":"we say psychological fidelity, Rachel,  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":474.36,"endTime":479.46,"body":"the New York Marathon "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":474.36,"endTime":479.46,"body":"was actually happening one block away.  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":480.48,"endTime":486.6,"body":"It felt real because it felt like "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":480.48,"endTime":486.6,"body":"you're in New York City, you've got the marathon  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":486.6,"endTime":491.1,"body":"down the street, a couple hundred thousand "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":486.6,"endTime":491.1,"body":"people down the street. This could happen  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":491.1,"endTime":498.0,"body":"at any moment, at any time, so it's not even "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":491.1,"endTime":498.0,"body":"just the immediate space that required that  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":498.0,"endTime":503.4,"body":"psychological safety, but kind of that "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":498.0,"endTime":503.4,"body":"bigger space as well. It was done  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":503.4,"endTime":511.56,"body":"so beautifully, so thank you. That's probably  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":584.88,"endTime":591.42,"body":"about seven years ago and the idea "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":584.88,"endTime":591.42,"body":"was that we were trying to...well  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":591.42,"endTime":597.12,"body":"first off as we saw like, wow so many new faculty "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":591.42,"endTime":597.12,"body":"come to BASE Camp and leave feeling exhilarated,  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":597.12,"endTime":603.3,"body":"invigorated, and loving the prospect of "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":597.12,"endTime":603.3,"body":"becoming future educators and using simulation  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":603.3,"endTime":610.14,"body":"as a tool and it occurred to us, why not "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":603.3,"endTime":610.14,"body":"create a structured opportunity to really  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":610.14,"endTime":617.34,"body":"sort of make that happen for people who"},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":610.14,"endTime":617.34,"body":"are thinking about a career in education? And so  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":617.34,"endTime":623.7,"body":"that's the BASE Camp junior faculty instructor "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":617.34,"endTime":623.7,"body":"mentorship program. We invite pediatric  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":623.7,"endTime":629.58,"body":"emergency medicine fellows who are in the third "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":623.7,"endTime":629.58,"body":"year of training, those who have already taken or  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":629.58,"endTime":634.56,"body":"participated in BASE Camp when they were first "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":629.58,"endTime":634.56,"body":"year fellows and they participate in  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":634.56,"endTime":642.06,"body":"the structured mentorship, which is that they get "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":634.56,"endTime":642.06,"body":"paired with a a simulation educator, someone who is  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":642.84,"endTime":648.6,"body":"everyone comes with like a different "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":642.84,"endTime":648.6,"body":"sort of set of skills and so our mentors are come  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":648.6,"endTime":653.28,"body":"from all different walks of life and they get "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":648.6,"endTime":653.28,"body":"paired and then they spend the entire weekend  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":653.28,"endTime":661.14,"body":"working together and sort of climbing that hill "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":653.28,"endTime":661.14,"body":"if you will together. They're  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":661.14,"endTime":667.68,"body":"trying to advance their knowledge, skills, and "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":661.14,"endTime":667.68,"body":"aptitude in becoming expert debriefers  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":667.68,"endTime":673.5,"body":"and the mentors are there to help sort of shape "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":667.68,"endTime":673.5,"body":"and support them. It's a sort  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":673.5,"endTime":679.2,"body":"of like it's a guided mentorship that has a "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":673.5,"endTime":679.2,"body":"stepwise sort of weekend approach because  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":680.22,"endTime":686.34,"body":"there are so many opportunities to "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":680.22,"endTime":686.34,"body":"do it that from the beginning  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":687.24,"endTime":693.6,"body":"these mentors get to sort of model best practices "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":687.24,"endTime":693.6,"body":"and the the junior faculty instructors  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":693.6,"endTime":700.32,"body":"get to sort of dip a toe in and feel "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":693.6,"endTime":700.32,"body":"just how safe they are with sort of experimenting  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":700.32,"endTime":704.64,"body":"and then as the weekend goes gets all  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":700.32,"endTime":704.64,"body":"sort of moves forward. The mentor  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":704.64,"endTime":711.78,"body":"sort of like lets go of the reigns and take a step "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":704.64,"endTime":711.78,"body":"back and lets the junior  "},{"speaker":"like 5","startTime":711.78,"endTime":719.4,"body":"faculty fly.
