So just as "},{"startTime":65.88,"endTime":72.96,"body":"a teaser where some of our colleagues are going  "},{"startTime":72.96,"endTime":80.4,"body":"are they are going to try and bring all of this "},{"startTime":72.96,"endTime":80.4,"body":"information to the public. So we have a group that  "},{"startTime":80.4,"endTime":87.6,"body":"I mean and in nursing we don't do this very often "},{"startTime":80.4,"endTime":87.6,"body":"but we are planning on bringing this to the public. "},{"startTime":87.6,"endTime":97.92,"body":"We had this iterative group in 2018 that met "},{"startTime":87.6,"endTime":97.92,"body":"for a day and a half with really good facilitation. "},{"startTime":97.92,"endTime":107.96,"body":"We used a participatory action research approach. "},{"startTime":97.92,"endTime":107.96,"body":"We vetted and met every three months after  "},{"startTime":107.96,"endTime":116.24,"body":"that first year to solidify what the definition "},{"startTime":107.96,"endTime":116.24,"body":"of professional identity and nursing, was what the  "},{"startTime":116.24,"endTime":122.28,"body":"definition of each of the four domains was I told "},{"startTime":116.24,"endTime":122.28,"body":"you about some of the changes that we made then we  "},{"startTime":122.28,"endTime":132.56,"body":"determined key elements, competencies, exemplars, "},{"startTime":122.28,"endTime":132.56,"body":"we wrote scripts for video performances if you  "},{"startTime":132.56,"endTime":142.96,"body":"will, and did that heavy lifting early on. And then, "},{"startTime":132.56,"endTime":142.96,"body":"very quickly after that, decided it's time to do an  "},{"startTime":142.96,"endTime":152.88,"body":"instrument. So we have done an instrument at with "},{"startTime":142.96,"endTime":152.88,"body":"the highest level of integrity that measures all  "},{"startTime":152.88,"endTime":161.4,"body":"four of the subscales and has been tested with "},{"startTime":152.88,"endTime":161.4,"body":"first 1100 nurse  "},{"startTime":161.4,"endTime":169.92,"body":"educators and nurse educator administrators and "},{"startTime":161.4,"endTime":169.92,"body":"then another 600 nurses in practice so we have  "},{"startTime":169.92,"endTime":177.64,"body":"a reliable and valid instrument that measures not "},{"startTime":169.92,"endTime":177.64,"body":"only professional identity but the four subscales. "},{"startTime":177.64,"endTime":187.88,"body":"And it's measured twice. It's what you call a "},{"startTime":177.64,"endTime":187.88,"body":"truth scale, so if you say one of the elements  "},{"startTime":187.88,"endTime":201.8,"body":"for knowledge is \"recognizes cues and patterns.\""},{"startTime":187.88,"endTime":201.8,"body":"Okay, one of the elements for knowledge  "},{"startTime":201.8,"endTime":210.12,"body":"is \"recognizes cues and patterns\" and so you use a "},{"startTime":201.8,"endTime":210.12,"body":"Dreifuerst scale, novice to expert, a five component  "},{"startTime":210.12,"endTime":217.76,"body":"Dreifuerst scale to assess your own skill in that "},{"startTime":210.12,"endTime":217.76,"body":"area. Am I proficient, am I competent, am I a novice, "},{"startTime":217.76,"endTime":225.04,"body":"am I a master at it? And then we also at the "},{"startTime":217.76,"endTime":225.04,"body":"same time when you're saying recognizing cues  "},{"startTime":225.04,"endTime":231.28,"body":"and patterns you say thinking about my work "},{"startTime":225.04,"endTime":231.28,"body":"environment. What would I say about my work  "},{"startTime":231.28,"endTime":239.4,"body":"environment's expression of where they are on "},{"startTime":231.28,"endTime":239.4,"body":"the skill level using the Dreifuerst skill model?"},{"startTime":239.4,"endTime":244.4,"body":"Are are they proficient, are they competent are "},{"startTime":239.4,"endTime":244.4,"body":"they masters, are they novices? What is my work  "},{"startTime":244.4,"endTime":252.4,"body":"environment like? And so we have the data from "},{"startTime":244.4,"endTime":252.4,"body":"that and Beth has figured out the scaling and  "},{"startTime":252.4,"endTime":261.72,"body":"we can now do aggregate scoring and we have this "},{"startTime":252.4,"endTime":261.72,"body":"ready for people to use in research studies"},{"startTime":261.72,"endTime":267.36,"body":"and actually with all nurses everywhere. That's "},{"startTime":261.72,"endTime":267.36,"body":"quite the claim to be able to make that we have an  "},{"startTime":267.36,"endTime":275.4,"body":"instrument that is robust enough to be used with "},{"startTime":267.36,"endTime":275.4,"body":"all nurses everywhere. I want to add a caveat that  "},{"startTime":275.4,"endTime":281.56,"body":"we don't, we're not sure that it's for students "},{"startTime":275.4,"endTime":281.56,"body":"though because students are just in the learning  "},{"startTime":281.56,"endTime":288.44,"body":"process so we actually have one of our work groups "},{"startTime":281.56,"endTime":288.44,"body":"looking now at instrument development for nursing  "},{"startTime":288.44,"endTime":295.24,"body":"students because if we can't expect them to be "},{"startTime":288.44,"endTime":295.24,"body":"at the level that we would expect nurses to be  "},{"startTime":295.24,"endTime":302.0,"body":"at. So one more thing I would say and I I really "},{"startTime":295.24,"endTime":302.0,"body":"hope to have your questions very soon. I want to  "},{"startTime":302.0,"endTime":310.72,"body":"know what you're thinking. The four domains that "},{"startTime":302.0,"endTime":310.72,"body":"we determined those were domains for nursing in  "},{"startTime":310.72,"endTime":319.36,"body":"a contemporary sense. So many of us are fans of "},{"startTime":310.72,"endTime":319.36,"body":"Florence Nightingale, but this is a contemporary  "},{"startTime":319.36,"endTime":326.68,"body":"assortment of professional identity terms and "},{"startTime":319.36,"endTime":326.68,"body":"it's been vetted and and iteratively determined  "},{"startTime":326.68,"endTime":335.32,"body":"and worked on and I mean it's this is well "},{"startTime":326.68,"endTime":335.32,"body":"studied and so I think that's a really important  "},{"startTime":335.32,"endTime":340.76,"body":"point here that this didn't just come out of "},{"startTime":335.32,"endTime":340.76,"body":"nowhere. We weren't sitting at a kitchen table  "},{"startTime":340.76,"endTime":347.24,"body":"deciding what was going on the survey. This has "},{"startTime":340.76,"endTime":347.24,"body":"been very well tested and when we did  "},{"startTime":347.24,"endTime":353.92,"body":"the conceptual model, that model was tested with "},{"startTime":347.24,"endTime":353.92,"body":"us educated nurses and internationally educated  "},{"startTime":353.92,"endTime":361.88,"body":"nurses and the four domains held together it was "},{"startTime":353.92,"endTime":361.88,"body":"the historical, political, societal influences  "},{"startTime":361.88,"endTime":368.44,"body":"that were different, but the nugget "},{"startTime":361.88,"endTime":368.44,"body":"of that professional identity held together.  "},{"startTime":368.44,"endTime":374.16,"body":"Nancy Crigger and I did a philosophic inquiry on "},{"startTime":368.44,"endTime":374.16,"body":"professionalism in nursing back  "},{"startTime":374.16,"endTime":381.96,"body":"in 2011 and we found through that scholarly "},{"startTime":374.16,"endTime":381.96,"body":"work that it's like a sieve. Professionalism in  "},{"startTime":381.96,"endTime":390.4,"body":"nursing is like a sieve. You don't get words that "},{"startTime":381.96,"endTime":390.4,"body":"hang together and so we are suggesting let's  "},{"startTime":390.4,"endTime":395.68,"body":"set that back on the shelf,"},{"startTime":390.4,"endTime":395.68,"body":"the definition of professionalism was useful  "},{"startTime":395.68,"endTime":402.52,"body":"in 1904 with a Flexner Report and let's set that "},{"startTime":395.68,"endTime":402.52,"body":"on the shelf and let's use professional identity  "},{"startTime":402.52,"endTime":410.2,"body":"moving forward. So what questions and thoughts "},{"startTime":402.52,"endTime":410.2,"body":"do you all have? Oh so many. You are just, you're  "},{"startTime":410.2,"endTime":416.32,"body":"having my mind spin in a really good way "},{"startTime":410.2,"endTime":416.32,"body":"and I for my first and foremost thought I want  "},{"startTime":416.32,"endTime":419.72,"body":"to get out there is I think that this is going "},{"startTime":416.32,"endTime":419.72,"body":"to have a huge impact and be paradigm shift"},{"startTime":419.72,"endTime":423.84,"body":"especially because I agree with Michelle that "},{"startTime":419.72,"endTime":423.84,"body":"I think in many nursing programs across the  "},{"startTime":423.84,"endTime":432.08,"body":"country we have a lot of opportunity to grow in "},{"startTime":423.84,"endTime":432.08,"body":"our excellence in teaching professional identity  "},{"startTime":432.08,"endTime":436.72,"body":"and socializing nursing nurses to the nursing "},{"startTime":432.08,"endTime":436.72,"body":"profession. I think that this can be a  "},{"startTime":436.72,"endTime":442.44,"body":"huge paradigm shift for educators. Oftentimes "},{"startTime":436.72,"endTime":442.44,"body":"this is the two credit course that gets put online  "},{"startTime":442.44,"endTime":447.88,"body":"and in the in the eyes of the students it's that "},{"startTime":442.44,"endTime":447.88,"body":"other thing I have to do on top of my core patho  "},{"startTime":447.88,"endTime":452.24,"body":"and pharm and specialties. They put a lot of their "},{"startTime":447.88,"endTime":452.24,"body":"effort and time and attention to and it's just  "},{"startTime":452.24,"endTime":456.96,"body":"this other thing and it's really shifting to "},{"startTime":452.24,"endTime":456.96,"body":"this is the...this is the big thing. This is the  "},{"startTime":456.96,"endTime":463.84,"body":"foundation upon which everything else builds and "},{"startTime":456.96,"endTime":463.84,"body":"anchors so that was my first response. And my  "},{"startTime":463.84,"endTime":468.64,"body":"question, and I think it's Michelle knows I'm the "},{"startTime":463.84,"endTime":468.64,"body":"one that comes from this from a different angle , "},{"startTime":468.64,"endTime":474.64,"body":"so I think for the for the audience that might be "},{"startTime":468.64,"endTime":474.64,"body":"listening and thinking about professional identity  "},{"startTime":474.64,"endTime":480.12,"body":"and personal identity and the cohesiveness of this "},{"startTime":474.64,"endTime":480.12,"body":"which is wonderful. I love the articulation of that.  "},{"startTime":480.12,"endTime":484.64,"body":"There may be folks in the audience thinking, okay, "},{"startTime":480.12,"endTime":484.64,"body":"well we can swing the pendulum too far the other  "},{"startTime":484.64,"endTime":490.6,"body":"way and because we're in a service profession a "},{"startTime":484.64,"endTime":490.6,"body":"giving profession that innately pours ourselves  "},{"startTime":490.6,"endTime":495.76,"body":"into our service work, it's giving of our self, "},{"startTime":490.6,"endTime":495.76,"body":"has your work in this area taking you into  "},{"startTime":495.76,"endTime":502.76,"body":"the realm of the compassion fatigue, the other "},{"startTime":495.76,"endTime":502.76,"body":"outcomes that happen when the cohesiveness  "},{"startTime":502.76,"endTime":508.76,"body":"between self and professional identity get so "},{"startTime":502.76,"endTime":508.76,"body":"blended that the professional identity really  "},{"startTime":508.76,"endTime":513.52,"body":"is taking on as a personal identity? That may "},{"startTime":508.76,"endTime":513.52,"body":"be a bigger, big juicy question that we can only  "},{"startTime":513.52,"endTime":518.32,"body":"sort of scratch the surface of but that's where "},{"startTime":513.52,"endTime":518.32,"body":"my head's going right now. So I can tell you I'm  "},{"startTime":518.32,"endTime":527.12,"body":"an ethicist and I have a big background with the "},{"startTime":518.32,"endTime":527.12,"body":"ethics research and in the early days of bioethics  "},{"startTime":527.12,"endTime":534.52,"body":"we looked at nursing a research study about asking "},{"startTime":527.12,"endTime":534.52,"body":"nurses what their theoretical framework was for  "},{"startTime":534.52,"endTime":539.8,"body":"approaching ethical issues in nursing practice "},{"startTime":534.52,"endTime":539.8,"body":"and they didn't have anything that talked like  "},{"startTime":539.8,"endTime":546.32,"body":"nursing. They had everything that talked about "},{"startTime":539.8,"endTime":546.32,"body":"their person. So I would argue that, number one, "},{"startTime":546.32,"endTime":552.92,"body":"I mean shout it from the rooftops that the person "},{"startTime":546.32,"endTime":552.92,"body":"we are is so incredibly important in this nursing  "},{"startTime":552.92,"endTime":561.04,"body":"endeavor that we don't segregate that to this "},{"startTime":552.92,"endTime":561.04,"body":"four domain notion of professional identity. It  "},{"startTime":561.04,"endTime":568.64,"body":"is only an additive so we wouldn't want any of "},{"startTime":561.04,"endTime":568.64,"body":"the uniqueness of any of nurses to be dampened  "},{"startTime":568.64,"endTime":576.76,"body":"by this. It's simply another item to hold onto,"},{"startTime":568.64,"endTime":576.76,"body":"another idea to hold onto, which is germaine for  "},{"startTime":576.76,"endTime":584.72,"body":"every profession. Every profession has that. So it's "},{"startTime":576.76,"endTime":584.72,"body":"really important to me that we"},{"startTime":584.72,"endTime":589.44,"body":"talk about diversity, equity and inclusion "},{"startTime":584.72,"endTime":589.44,"body":"along with professional identity as is written  "},{"startTime":589.44,"endTime":595.32,"body":"in the new AACN Essentials and also developing "},{"startTime":589.44,"endTime":595.32,"body":"a professional identity in nursing. These things  "},{"startTime":595.32,"endTime":602.64,"body":"are really important but they don't take away that "},{"startTime":595.32,"endTime":602.64,"body":"individual at all in the mix, but it does give us  "},{"startTime":602.64,"endTime":611.4,"body":"some common ground. It does give us a way to"},{"startTime":602.64,"endTime":611.4,"body":"teach it, a way to communicate this. And I hope,  "},{"startTime":611.4,"endTime":619.04,"body":"well, and I believe that these four domains are "},{"startTime":611.4,"endTime":619.04,"body":"non-emotional domains and I think they will move  "},{"startTime":619.04,"endTime":630.08,"body":"us away from this idea of compassion fatigue and "},{"startTime":619.04,"endTime":630.08,"body":"exhaustion and burnout. Imagine if you are...I'll  "},{"startTime":630.08,"endTime":636.36,"body":"just kind of make this up as I go along but if"},{"startTime":630.08,"endTime":636.36,"body":"you are a C-suite person and you say, I don't know  "},{"startTime":636.36,"endTime":641.16,"body":"what the nurses want, can't figure out what the "},{"startTime":636.36,"endTime":641.16,"body":"nurses want and what you are hearing is the nurses  "},{"startTime":641.16,"endTime":648.76,"body":"want more compensation. Well, there's a reason "},{"startTime":641.16,"endTime":648.76,"body":"why, but what if the nurses can then say also I  "},{"startTime":648.76,"endTime":656.08,"body":"need...I've done ECMO once and I'm terrified. I need "},{"startTime":648.76,"endTime":656.08,"body":"some more training on doing ECMO or our unit could  "},{"startTime":656.08,"endTime":662.84,"body":"really benefit from nursing ethics rounds because "},{"startTime":656.08,"endTime":662.84,"body":"we have so many ethical issues here we need to  "},{"startTime":662.84,"endTime":669.92,"body":"have time and space to discuss them or I want to "},{"startTime":662.84,"endTime":669.92,"body":"be a leader in place on my unit but I need more  "},{"startTime":669.92,"endTime":676.12,"body":"background to be able to do that I really need "},{"startTime":669.92,"endTime":676.12,"body":"some education on this or comportment we really  "},{"startTime":676.12,"endTime":683.56,"body":"on our unit we need to raise that level of respect "},{"startTime":676.12,"endTime":683.56,"body":"to a high enough level that it permeates our unit  "},{"startTime":683.56,"endTime":693.68,"body":"and so we've given people words that are more than "},{"startTime":683.56,"endTime":693.68,"body":"the limited words our young discipline has and I  "},{"startTime":693.68,"endTime":699.96,"body":"would, I would totally agree with you and Rachel. I "},{"startTime":693.68,"endTime":699.96,"body":"think your question is really critical. We have  "},{"startTime":699.96,"endTime":706.12,"body":"to solve that or we're going to be in big trouble "},{"startTime":699.96,"endTime":706.12,"body":"as we move forward because I think that's part of  "},{"startTime":706.12,"endTime":714.6,"body":"the missing link and I would make the case that "},{"startTime":706.12,"endTime":714.6,"body":"self-care is embedded in all of those domains. "},{"startTime":714.6,"endTime":721.52,"body":"The knowledge of it, the values and ethics of it,"},{"startTime":714.6,"endTime":721.52,"body":"the as nurse as leader part of the element is  "},{"startTime":721.52,"endTime":729.08,"body":"advocacy and that includes self- advocacy, and then "},{"startTime":721.52,"endTime":729.08,"body":"comportment as well. I can't have...my behaviors will  "},{"startTime":729.08,"endTime":737.72,"body":"show if I'm not taking care of self first and so "},{"startTime":729.08,"endTime":737.72,"body":"that has to be part of that. Even for educators, I  "},{"startTime":737.72,"endTime":747.24,"body":"think that for too long in our profession we "},{"startTime":737.72,"endTime":747.24,"body":"have kind of gone by our traditions and  "},{"startTime":747.24,"endTime":754.16,"body":"there's been bullying, there's been mistreatment "},{"startTime":747.24,"endTime":754.16,"body":"of each other even we ran into a situation we  "},{"startTime":754.16,"endTime":763.48,"body":"believe as an organization, we believe that nurse "},{"startTime":754.16,"endTime":763.48,"body":"as leader starts from LPNs to the highest ranking  "},{"startTime":763.48,"endTime":772.04,"body":"nurse that exists and LPN's are leaders of their "},{"startTime":763.48,"endTime":772.04,"body":"clients, they're leaders of their work, they learn  "},{"startTime":772.04,"endTime":778.28,"body":"about conflict resolution, they learn about good "},{"startTime":772.04,"endTime":778.28,"body":"communication skills, they learn about teamwork. "},{"startTime":778.28,"endTime":784.52,"body":"All of these these are leader characteristics "},{"startTime":778.28,"endTime":784.52,"body":"that they can carry with them wherever they go. "},{"startTime":784.52,"endTime":793.2,"body":"And so one of our groups wrote a paper and sent "},{"startTime":784.52,"endTime":793.2,"body":"it to a journal I will not name and it was denied  "},{"startTime":793.2,"endTime":799.8,"body":"because we included LPN and they felt like the "},{"startTime":793.2,"endTime":799.8,"body":"word professional should never go hand in hand  "},{"startTime":799.8,"endTime":807.56,"body":"with LPNs. And I mean if our profession can't get "},{"startTime":799.8,"endTime":807.56,"body":"past those kind of things, I've been hearing that  "},{"startTime":807.56,"endTime":813.12,"body":"I've been in this now for 40 years and I've been "},{"startTime":807.56,"endTime":813.12,"body":"hearing it that whole time and it's been longer  "},{"startTime":813.12,"endTime":821.32,"body":"than that. We've got bigger fish to fry. We have "},{"startTime":813.12,"endTime":821.32,"body":"bigger issues and we need to get past it so yeah. "},{"startTime":821.32,"endTime":825.64,"body":"I agree with you and there's a connotation of "},{"startTime":821.32,"endTime":825.64,"body":"value with that, right? What are we saying about  "},{"startTime":825.64,"endTime":831.88,"body":"how we value all the members of our "},{"startTime":825.64,"endTime":831.88,"body":"profession when that's the connotation  "},{"startTime":831.88,"endTime":838.36,"body":"and the paradigm that we carry with that."},{"startTime":831.88,"endTime":838.36,"body":"So I agree. I appreciate your thoughts on that. Can  "},{"startTime":838.36,"endTime":844.4,"body":"I jump right back too? I just want to emphasize "},{"startTime":838.36,"endTime":844.4,"body":"that we have a subgroup working on diversity,  "},{"startTime":844.4,"endTime":852.76,"body":"equity, inclusion and belonging as a it is "},{"startTime":844.4,"endTime":852.76,"body":"a concept that has to be hand in hand with  "},{"startTime":852.76,"endTime":860.68,"body":"professional identity formation. It has to be part "},{"startTime":852.76,"endTime":860.68,"body":"of our work and we have a conceptual model now. We  "},{"startTime":860.68,"endTime":866.2,"body":"want that to be blended into everything that we "},{"startTime":860.68,"endTime":866.2,"body":"do because otherwise we're going to leave people  "},{"startTime":866.2,"endTime":873.2,"body":"out. With all of the health and equities that we're "},{"startTime":866.2,"endTime":873.2,"body":"seeing today nursing has an opportunity to really  "},{"startTime":873.2,"endTime":879.44,"body":"make a major change in this country and in the "},{"startTime":873.2,"endTime":879.44,"body":"world if we can embrace that because we have  "},{"startTime":879.44,"endTime":887.48,"body":"our hands everywhere in schools and in businesses "},{"startTime":879.44,"endTime":887.48,"body":"and in industry and in politics and everywhere and  "},{"startTime":887.48,"endTime":895.32,"body":"so we feel really about that and we have a very "},{"startTime":887.48,"endTime":895.32,"body":"active group that's moving and the chair of  "},{"startTime":895.32,"endTime":903.2,"body":"our group is actually a someone you may value "},{"startTime":895.32,"endTime":903.2,"body":"very much, Dr. Janice Brewington, and she has just  "},{"startTime":903.2,"endTime":910.72,"body":"led our group and we're doing some amazing things "},{"startTime":903.2,"endTime":910.72,"body":"but that is our next big endeavor is to make sure  "},{"startTime":910.72,"endTime":918.52,"body":"that people see that connection. I'm curious really"},{"startTime":966.2,"endTime":975.52,"body":"because I don't know, I'm not that versed in the  "},{"startTime":975.52,"endTime":982.04,"body":"Essentials line by line, is professional identity "},{"startTime":975.52,"endTime":982.04,"body":"showing up in the Essentials? And I'm thinking that  "},{"startTime":982.04,"endTime":988.52,"body":"might also help with some of the integration for "},{"startTime":982.04,"endTime":988.52,"body":"the academic piece of our learners development."},{"startTime":989.64,"endTime":998.72,"body":"I'll go ahead and take that Beth. Is that okay? Yeah. "},{"startTime":989.64,"endTime":998.72,"body":"Okay, so one of the great things about nursing is  "},{"startTime":998.72,"endTime":1003.72,"body":"that we have three different accrediting "},{"startTime":998.72,"endTime":1003.72,"body":"organizations for our nursing programs.  "},{"startTime":1003.72,"endTime":1007.92,"body":"There's nothing wrong with that. There are five "},{"startTime":1003.72,"endTime":1007.92,"body":"in business. I mean, it's okay that we've got  "},{"startTime":1007.92,"endTime":1014.64,"body":"three different accrediting groups. This is not "},{"startTime":1007.92,"endTime":1014.64,"body":"a problem, but what is good is that we don't have  "},{"startTime":1014.64,"endTime":1023.6,"body":"all three that have gone off and written "},{"startTime":1014.64,"endTime":1023.6,"body":"the structure that should be around"},{"startTime":1023.6,"endTime":1032.88,"body":"professional nursing education. That has been to"},{"startTime":1023.6,"endTime":1032.88,"body":"date handled by AACN and then accredited through  "},{"startTime":1032.88,"endTime":1043.64,"body":"CCNE. So \"they say,\" whoever they are ,say that any "},{"startTime":1032.88,"endTime":1043.64,"body":"innovation takes 16 years to get turned through an  "},{"startTime":1043.64,"endTime":1048.88,"body":"accreditation process. Okay, I mean you think about "},{"startTime":1043.64,"endTime":1048.88,"body":"new innovations that have happened in many or  "},{"startTime":1048.88,"endTime":1055.56,"body":"whatever 16 years. It took two because as the new "},{"startTime":1048.88,"endTime":1055.56,"body":"Essentials were being developed we brought this  "},{"startTime":1055.56,"endTime":1061.92,"body":"forward to the leaders and they said, oh my gosh, "},{"startTime":1055.56,"endTime":1061.92,"body":"we need this. We really need this. So domain nine  "},{"startTime":1061.92,"endTime":1067.96,"body":"is listed as professionalism, but I think it was "},{"startTime":1061.92,"endTime":1067.96,"body":"too new for people to accept professional identity. "},{"startTime":1067.96,"endTime":1075.48,"body":"If you look, the definition of professionalism is "},{"startTime":1067.96,"endTime":1075.48,"body":"exactly the definition of professional identity. "},{"startTime":1075.48,"endTime":1083.56,"body":"And all of the domains under that and sub all "},{"startTime":1075.48,"endTime":1083.56,"body":"of competencies under that and the subcompetencies  "},{"startTime":1083.56,"endTime":1091.56,"body":"relate to professional identity as we're defining "},{"startTime":1083.56,"endTime":1091.56,"body":"it today. The best news is that there is one  "},{"startTime":1091.56,"endTime":1100.44,"body":"9.5 is demonstrate a professional identity "},{"startTime":1091.56,"endTime":1100.44,"body":"of nursing. 9.6 is integrate diversity equity  "},{"startTime":1100.44,"endTime":1106.96,"body":"and inclusion in one's professional identity of "},{"startTime":1100.44,"endTime":1106.96,"body":"nursing. And what's fabulous is AACN talks and  "},{"startTime":1106.96,"endTime":1115.36,"body":"talks and talks about DEI, but the only competency "},{"startTime":1106.96,"endTime":1115.36,"body":"that it is listed in specifically is this one so  "},{"startTime":1115.36,"endTime":1122.4,"body":"this is ours to lose! so integrating diversity, "},{"startTime":1115.36,"endTime":1122.4,"body":"equity and inclusion in one's professional  "},{"startTime":1122.4,"endTime":1129.2,"body":"identity is just on a platter waiting for us to "},{"startTime":1122.4,"endTime":1129.2,"body":"take. And what we're seeing from this, this is new  "},{"startTime":1129.2,"endTime":1135.24,"body":"for us, we didn't realize that we need to take "},{"startTime":1129.2,"endTime":1135.24,"body":"our faculty through the same process we would  "},{"startTime":1135.24,"endTime":1141.84,"body":"take our students through. So now we're starting "},{"startTime":1135.24,"endTime":1141.84,"body":"to work workshops that treat the faculty totally  "},{"startTime":1141.84,"endTime":1148.32,"body":"as learners and say so let's evaluate where you "},{"startTime":1141.84,"endTime":1148.32,"body":"are on values and ethics and where you are on  "},{"startTime":1148.32,"endTime":1153.08,"body":"knowledge and nurse as leader in professional "},{"startTime":1148.32,"endTime":1153.08,"body":"compartment and let's start to use this as a  "},{"startTime":1153.08,"endTime":1158.88,"body":"frame. You don't have to use it as your life frame, "},{"startTime":1153.08,"endTime":1158.88,"body":"but start using it as a frame and then last week  "},{"startTime":1158.88,"endTime":1167.32,"body":"we found out that one of our colleges in Canada "},{"startTime":1158.88,"endTime":1167.32,"body":"has adopted the professional identity and nursing  "},{"startTime":1167.32,"endTime":1176.92,"body":"domains as the framework for their curriculum. This "},{"startTime":1167.32,"endTime":1176.92,"body":"is incredible work. So great. Both Nelda and Beth and I  "},{"startTime":1176.92,"endTime":1182.2,"body":"think you closed the loop beautifully by talking "},{"startTime":1176.92,"endTime":1182.2,"body":"about how this integration is showing up in some  "},{"startTime":1182.2,"endTime":1188.88,"body":"of the competencies that are really guiding our "},{"startTime":1182.2,"endTime":1188.88,"body":"curricula and on the academic side hoping  "},{"startTime":1188.88,"endTime":1195.6,"body":"that that will then transition our learners "},{"startTime":1188.88,"endTime":1195.6,"body":"into practice with some good opportunities to  "},{"startTime":1195.6,"endTime":1201.92,"body":"demonstrate professional identity.
