136. The Colorado Hammer Murders
In the early 1980s, a series of brutal killings left a small town on edge, as victims were found bludgeoned to death with a hammer. Between 1984 and 1985, a small community in Colorado was shaken by a string of brutal killings in which the victims were savagely beaten to death with a hammer. Each crime scene presented eerie similarities: the victims were found in their homes, often alone, with no sign of forced entry. The attacks were brutal, personal and unpredictable, making investigators fear they were dealing with a serial killer.
