"To set yourself up for a more senior role, a critical question you can ask them is 'What has changed?' By asking this you are trying to understand what their problems and opportunities are. Change can be lots of things: what strategic plans have moved? What new products are there? Is there a new mission, vision or values? These questions matter to the WHY buyer. And then you can seed ideas as to how you could help them solve those problems."
