3 ways to be sure you're avoiding having a direct conversation:

  • You're attributing negative meaning to this conversation, before you've even had it, i.e. 'This is going to be difficult', or 'They'll think badly about me.'
  • You're avoiding having a face to face conversation, defaulting to writing an email instead.
  • You're struggling to maintain eye contact because you know there's a deeper conversation that needs to be had.
