Giovanna Dubuc was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is a congenital amputee, born without her left forearm and hand, and is a passionate paraclimber. She placed first in the youth adaptive division at the national championships in 2019 and came in second in 2021, competing in the adult brackets. She is a junior in high school and travels the country speaking about disability, diversity, equity and inclusion, and is passionate about environmental and social justice issues. She is also an accomplished violinist and started playing in the second grade.
