This morning I just want to welcome all of us into this prayer meeting , this special Friday that the Lord has given unto us . It's always a privilege for when we get a chance to come and be before Him . This morning , and I have no doubt that he's going to speak to us , and I want us just to read a portion of scripture and I'm going to share briefly and then we'll go on to pray .
Speaker 2I want to start with from the book of Amos , prophet Amos , chapter five , verses 21 to 27 . Amos , chapter five , verses 21 to 27 . The Bible says I hate , I despise your religious festivals . Your assemblies are as tinge to me . Even though you bring me banned offerings and grain offerings , I will not accept them . Though you bring choice fellowship offerings , I will have no regard for them . Away with the noise of your songs , I will not listen to the music of your haps . But let justice roll on like a river , righteousness like a never failing stream . Did you bring me sacrifices and banned offerings ? 40 years in the wilderness , people of Israel , you have lifted up the shrine of your King , the pedestal of your idols , the star of your God , which you made for yourselves . Therefore , I will send you into exile beyond Damascus , says the Lord , whose name is God Almighty .
Speaker 2And I want to go and read again from the book of first , somewhere , chapter 15 , and I'll sort of read some and jump , because it's a long scripture , but I want us to make sure we just get the context
Don't Forget, Let's Go Back
Speaker 2. This is the time when the Lord rejected Saul as king . The Bible says in chapter one , samuel 15, . One Samuel say to Saul I am the one the Lord sent to anoint you , king over his people , Israel . So listen now to the message from the Lord . This is what the Lord Almighty says I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they will aid them as they came up from Egypt . Now go , attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them . Do not spare them . Put to death men and women , cute and infants , cattle and sheep , camels and donkeys . And then the Bible says Samuel , of course , someone , 200,000 soldiers . And they went to fight .
Speaker 2And if you go in first nine , bible says but Saul and the army spared Agag and the best of the sheep and cattle , the fat calves and lambs , everything that was good , this they were unwilling I want you to note that they were unwilling to destroy completely , but everything that was despised and weak they totally destroyed . Then , first , 10 , the Lord came to Samuel again . I regret that I've made Saul king because he has turned away from me and has not carried out my instructions . Samuel was angry and he cried out to the Lord all the night , all that night . I want you to note that . And then , early in the morning Samuel got up and went to meet Saul . But he was told Saul has gone to Camel . There he has set up a monument in his own honor and has turned and gone on down to Gilgall . When Samuel reached him , saul said the Lord bless you . I've carried out the Lord's instructions .
Speaker 2Then , fast 14 , but Samuel said what then ? Is this bleeding of sheep in my ears ? What is this lowing of cattle that I hear ? Saul answered the soldiers brought them from the Amalekites . They spared the best of the sheep and cattle to sacrifice to the Lord , your God . But we totally destroyed the rest Enough . Samuel said to Saul let me tell you what the Lord said to me last night . Tell me . Saul replied . In fast 17 he says though you are once more in your own eyes . Did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel ? The Lord anointed you king of Israel and he sent you on a mission saying go and completely destroy those wicked people , the Amalekites . And fast 19 , why did you pounce on the plunder and do evil in the eyes of the Lord ? Fast 20 , saul is saying but I did obey . The Lord's soul said I went on a mission as the Lord assigned me . I completely destroyed the Amalekites and brought back their king . The soldiers took sheep and cattle from the plunder , the best of what was devoted to God , in order to sacrifice them to the Lord . But fast 22, .
Speaker 2We see the same scripture here again , but Samuel replied does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord ? To obey is better than sacrifice and to heed is better than the fad of rams , for rebellion is like the sin of divination and arrogance like the evil of idolatry . Because you have rejected the word of the Lord , he has rejected you as king . Then Samuel said I have sinned . I have let the Lord's commands and the instructions . I was afraid of the people and the men , and so I gave in to them . Now I beg you , forgive me a sin and come back to me so that I may worship the Lord .
Speaker 2And the story continues . And then we pick it up again in the story of David as well , a very familiar scripture again , where David goes in to count the fighting men , where he sends Job to go and enroll the people . And the Bible says but Job replied to the king . So again the anger of the Lord banned against Israel and incited David against them , saying go and take a census of Israel and Judah . So the king said to Joab and the army commanders with him go throughout the tribes of Israel , from Dan to Bereshaba , and enroll the fighting men so that I may know how many there are . First three . But Job replied to the king may the Lord , your God , multiply the troops a hundred times over and may the eyes of my Lord the king see it . But why does my Lord the king want to do such a thing ? The king's word , however , overruled Job and the army commanders so that they left the presence of the king to enroll the fighting men of Israel . After crossing the Jordan , they came and come to near our right , south of the town in George and then went through God and on to Jezre . They went to Gilead and the region of Tarthim Odish and on to Danjan and around the toward of Sidon , first eight . After they had gone through the entire land , they came back to Jerusalem At the end of nine months and 20 days . Job reported the number of fighting men to the king In Israel there were 800,000 able-bodied men who could handle a sword and in Judah 500,000 .
Speaker 2Last time David was conscious , stricken after he had counted the fighting men , and he said to the Lord I have sinned greatly in what I have done . Now , lord , I beg you , take away the guilt of your servant . I have done a very foolish thing . Before David got up the next morning , one of the Lord came to guard the prophet David Seer . Go and tell David . This is what the Lord says . I'm giving you three options . I need to know that , giving you three options , choose one of them for me to carry out against you .
Speaker 2So God went to David and said to him shall there be three years of famine in your land , or three months of fleeing from your enemies while they pursue you , or three days of plague in your land ? Now then , think it over and decide how I should answer the one who sent me . I need to say to God I'm in deep distress . Let us not fall in the hands of the Lord . Let us fall into the hands of the Lord , for his mercy is great , but do not let me fall into human hands .
Speaker 2So the Lord sent a plague on Israel from that morning until the end of the time designated and 70,000 of the people , from Dan to Gershepa , died . When the angels stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem , the Lord relented concerning the disaster and said to the angel who was afflicting the people enough , withdraw your hand . The angel of the Lord was then at the threshing flower of Aruba , the Jebusite . When David saw the striking angel , the angel striking people down , he said to the Lord I have seen , I , the shepherd , have done wrong . These are but sheep . What have they done ? Let your hand fall on me and my family .
Speaker 2And then , from there on , on that day , god went to David and said to him go up and build an altar to the Lord on the threshing flower of Aruna . So David went up on the Lord , as the Lord commanded through God . When Aruna looked and saw the king and his officials coming toward him . He went out and bowed before the king with the face of the ground . Aruna said why , as my Lord the king , come to his servant to buy your threshing flower ? He answered so I can build an altar to the Lord that the plague on the people may be stopped . Aruna said to David let the Lord the king take whatever he wishes and offer it up . Here are the oxen for the band offering and the threshing slages and oxyotes for the wood . Then , of course . But the king replied no , I insist on paying you for it . I will not sacrifice to the Lord , my God , band offerings that cost me nothing , amen . I know that's a long scripture , but this morning I wanted to use that to just share with you something that I feel in my heart . That's very critical as we continue in this journey and is going to pray this morning , and so I pray that your heart will be open and you sort of get what I want to communicate this morning .
Speaker 2In the first scripture , where we read in almost chapter five , god speaks about things that he despises and something that he hates , and in almost chapter five he says he hates and despises religious festivals . He hates and despises , and this morning . You know my message is entitled let us not forget and go back . Let us not forget and go back . God has been faithful to us . God has rescued us . He continues to rescue us . He continues to do great things in our midst . And as we go back to normal , as the churches open , as the schools open , as our lives start getting back to normal , there is the danger that we will forget and go back . Go back to what we used to know , Go back to the ways that we lived , go back to the way we did church before , go back to our ordinary lives . There will be pressure for you and I to go back to the ordinary Christian life , to where we used to be before . There will be pressure to default back to what we knew , because all habits die hard . There will be pressure , but this morning I am encouraging all of us with this word let us not forget and go back . Let us not forget and go back .
Speaker 2The Bible says in Amos , chapter five , that the God hates and despises religious festivals . In fact , it says such assemblies are as taint to him . You know , religion is something that is done without thinking . Religious assembly is a grouping of people that are gathered just to fulfill a duty . Their hearts are far from where they started . They just meet , they gather to perform rituals , to do the catcher of things , and there will be pressure for us to go back to just our religious activities . There will be pressure for you to go back to what you know . But God is challenging us .
God's Hatred of Empty Religion
Speaker 2Yes , he speaks through his prophet Amos . He says he hates religious festivals , he hates assemblies like that . In fact he says they are taint to him . And then he says when such assemblies are held , it does not matter how much grain offering or burnt offering we bring , the Lord says he rejects them . He says he will not accept them because anything that is done out of religious duty , god says he will reject such . And he reminds the children of Israel when you are in the wilderness for those four tears , did you give me anything ? Did you bring me sacrifices and offerings ? The four tears that you are in the wilderness ? I'm not God .
Speaker 2And so you see God here confronting or using the Prophet somewhere to highlight how much he hates . And not only does he hate such things , the Bible says he also takes action Every time he senses religion , every time he senses are people that are gathered for the sake of doing it , he begins to take action , in this case in Amos . He says therefore , I will send you into exile beyond Damascus . Not only is he upset , not only does he hate it , but he's forcing him to take action . And so this morning , I pray as we get back to normal , as we go back to what we used to do , life gets back to normal . Let us not forget what God has been speaking to us . Let us not forget and go back , because God hates assemblies that are just religion . God hates things that are done for the sake of being done . God hates people serving as if it's a duty . God is interested in our heart , and so that is the first thing that we see in the book of Amos .
Speaker 2If you come back again to the book of first Samuel , where we read we see again here King Samuel , the prophet , being confronted by God , and God comes to him and says I've got a mission that I want you to understand . He says I'm the one that chose Saul , so go and tell him . I've got a mission that I want him to do for me . I want him to go and destroy the Americas . The Americas had done very bad things to the children of Israel , and God had not forgotten . And he sees Saul as the man that can go and do that . And so he tells Samuel go and tell Saul , I want him to go on this mission , I want him to completely destroy the Amalekites , completely destroy them , because of what they did to the children of Israel , and God had failed to destroy them . And so he tells Samuel , god tells Saul to go and get the job done . The Bible says Saul does not refuse . He gets 200,000 soldiers and 10,000 men from Judah and they go into the city of Amalek . They set an ambush and they managed to get everything , everything that they wanted .
Speaker 2But the Bible says Saul , instead of obeying God , instead of obeying the instruction that he had been sold , he decides to keep King Agag . And he also decides to take the best of the ship and the goats and the best , the cattle , the ship , the camels and the donkeys . He keeps the very best . And then he has got this argument that you know what ? I'm going to take this very best and I'm going to offer them to God as a sacrifice . I'm going to offer some of them to the Lord as a sacrifice and I'm going to keep , of course , the soldiers . I'm going to keep the rest .
Speaker 2And this was again as what God had told . I want to talk about the things that God hates , the things that forces God to take action . And so when Saul does not do this , the Bible says that then the word of the Lord comes again to somewhere , and this time alone , god tells Samuel I regret that I've made Saul the king , because he has turned away from me and has not carried out my instructions . And the Bible says Samuel was angry the whole night . He could not sleep . He cried out to the Lord the whole night . I don't know what he was crying to God about . I don't know whether he was telling God to forgive Saul , because Samuel had been involved in the anointing of King Saul , when everybody had cried and said they wanted a king , they wanted someone who would go to battle with them . It was the Prophet Samuel who went to anoint Saul , and so I could remember the way he poured oil on someone Saul and the way Saul began to prophesy and he could see what had happened .
Speaker 2Over time , saul had forgotten what God had done for him . Saul had forgotten where God had gotten him from . And now here he is , he's completely disobedient and then Samuel cries to God the whole night . The Bible says the next morning . Anyway , he set up very early and he went into confront Saul and he's asking Saul why did you do this , saul ? But I'm not so much interested this morning on the conversation between Saul and Samuel , which was very distressing because , you see , saul tried to argue out and tried to justify why he did what he did , and he had very good reasons , and many times when we are disobedient to God , we have good reasons . We feel like God has overstayed . I've been waiting on the Lord to bless me , but he has not blessed me , or I've been expecting God to do this and he has a bit late , and so I started doing it my own way .
Speaker 2But what is most important , what do I like this morning in this subject of let us not forget and go back , is that God had very clear instructions to Saul and Saul decided to disobey Every time . Every time when we know what we are supposed to do , remember all these things are to the people of God . This is not a message to non believers . This is not a message to people that don't know God . This is something to us that know God . We know what needs to be done . The instructions have been very clear . They have been given to us . We have been instructed of the Lord . We know what we need to do . When we don't do it , when we refuse to do it , god gets . He hates it and it forces him to take action . And so what I'm saying this morning is we start getting back to the normal . There's going to be a tendency , there's going to be a push , there's going to be pressure for us to go back into ordinary church life and just start doing religion . But I am encouraging us this morning
God's Hatred for Disobedience and Hypocrisy
Speaker 2.
Speaker 2God hates disobedience , and not only does he hate it , it forces God to take action . This time around . He tells Samuel go and tell Saul I'm regretting why I made him king . I'm regretting why I made him king . And not only am I unhappy about him , but I'm also tearing the kingdom from him . I'm taking away the kingdom from him .
Speaker 2And in verse 22 , it captures what Samuel said . The Bible says . But Samuel replied does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord ? And he says to obey is better than sacrifice . And so this morning , as we go into prayer , one of the things that I feel that we should pray about is for spirit of obedience , and I'll sort of touch on that , because prayer and obedience , they go hand in hand . So he says , to obey is better than sacrifice , and he allies two other things that God hates . He says , for rebellion is like the scene of divination and arrogance is like the eve of adultery . And so these three things are so critical Obedience , ensuring that we are not rebellious and ensuring that we are not arrogant . And if you are not careful , these are all three things that creep into us as we journey with the Lord as God blesses us , as God increases us , as God establishes us .
Speaker 2When we are so down and we are so weak and we're exposed , we have a tendency of turning to God . You know , like crying out to God when we are believing in for something . You know you are believing God for a wife and you know you go in , you cry to God and you're all of us so allowed to him . As soon as he blesses you with a wife or with a job or with resources or whatever it is that you've been believing God to , and you start journeying with him along there . You then forget , and when you forget you then start being disobedient . You know what needs to be done , but now obedience creeps in and then what follows next is rebellion .
Speaker 2Rebellion is where you now openly disobedience starts small . It starts small in your own life , nobody's knowing . It's just you know the Spirit of God is telling you do that , do that . But slowly by slowly you disobey . You disobey . You . You're not sensitive to what God is saying , you're not sensitive to what God is telling you to do . And then later on disobeys and grows . It becomes open rebellion . Where night is feasible , people can see that you actually did in in rebellion . Now you're just rebelling .
Speaker 2And then , once rebellion builds up , the next thing is arrogance , where you cannot be told , no one can correct you , no one can can , no one can talk to you . It starts with disobedience , small voice of disobedience . When it disobedience starts small , when , in times when we are disobedient , nobody knows . It's only you that knows and the Spirit of God is only you know that knows that you are being disobedient . Many times we never know . The public may not know , your spouse may not know , your parents may not know . But then over time disobedience and builds up and it becomes open rebellion . Open rebellion is when it is just being physical . It is . You start being vocal , you start speaking and people are able to pick it up . You speak out and people are able to know where you stand . They're able to see your position . It is now becomes obvious rebellion .
Speaker 2And right after that , the next thing is arrogance . Where you are , where you cannot be spoken into , where the pastors cannot speak into you , where your parents cannot speak into you , where your elders cannot speak into you , where those that are older cannot speak into you , you are , you have , you have built such a thick skin that nobody can reach you and in all these things , god is speaking through somewhere and he's saying that's the law of delight in burnt offerings . Remember , as disobedience is going on , as rebellion is going on , as arrogance is going on , people are still offering burnt offerings . People are still doing sacrifices . We are still singing in the choir , we are still coming for the fellowship , we are still involved in church , we are still involved in ministry , we are still doing God's work . We are still doing , but inside , disobedience is already crept in , which then grows into rebellion , and then it grows into arrogance , and then it is all covered up .
Speaker 2When those three things are all happening in our lives and we are still showing up . We are still showing up on Sunday . We are still saying we are Christians . We are still saying we are pastors . We are still saying we are Christians . We are still saying we are bishops . We are still saying we are man , the body of Christ , but inside us is disobedience , inside us is rebellion , inside us is arrogance , but we are still doing church , we are still doing ministry . We are still saying that we are saints . We are still being called upon as Christians . We are still saying that we are Christian nation . We are still saying we are Christians . And then , with all that's happening disobedience , rebellion and arrogance we are still showing up on Sunday . It becomes a religious assembly . A religious assembly is one that is full of people that are in disobedience to God . It is an assembly that is full of arrogant people . It's an assembly that is full of rebellion , where we know what needs to be done . We speak about it , we talk about it , but everything that we do is against what we are saying .
Speaker 2Why is there so much corruption in countries ? Why there's so much fighting ? Why is so much corruption ? Why is there so much in fighting ? Why is there so much fighting ? Why is there so much problem in our countries ? When you look at the people on Sunday , they're in church . All the politicians , they're all streaming to church on Sunday to go and give offerings , to go and do fundraising , to go and do many fun . They're all kneeling down , they're all lifting up their hands . But every time they open their mouths and they speak . When you look at what they are doing , when you look at the actions that they are taking , you wonder what is wrong . On Sunday , we are there , we are in church , we want to be identified as Christians , we want to say we are , we say praise the Lord , we say hallelujah , we are saying all the right things . But every time you look at what people are doing it is different .
Speaker 2And in the book of Amos , god got Francis through his prophet and he says this I hate and I despise your religious festivals . You assemblies are changed . To me . He says they stink , we stink . And , brothers and sisters , this morning the message is let us not forget and go back . Let us not forget and go back to those religious assemblies , because God hates them and they stink . And God will take action . He says if you bring me banned offerings or bring me grain , I will not accept them . There will be pressure , brothers and sisters , for us to go back to the ordinary . There will be pressure for us to conform . There will be pressure for us to just go back to what we know . But let us not forget and go back when we know what we need to do and we don't do it . God hates it and it takes action .
Obedience and Trust in God
Speaker 2In the last portion of scripture where we read you see David coming in . David knows very well that God did not approve of the armies being counted , but it tells Joe up , go and count the fighting men . David knew what was right , we know what is right , but we go ahead and do what is wrong anyway . David knew what he was doing was wrong . But he confronts Joe up , he says go and count the people and the man who says this man went around the country . It will took them nine months . It was a long journey , it was painful , but they did it because the king had said that they do it . But the Bible says David was doing this . His conscious was , he was conscious reading . He knew he had done the wrong thing . His heart was , he knew that he had done the wrong thing . And you know when we do what is wrong , the spirit of God will remind us , the spirit of God will speak to us , the spirit of God will prompt us .
Speaker 2And this morning , brothers and sisters , the message is let us not forget and go back .
Speaker 2Let us not forget and go back .
Speaker 2David knew counting the men was wrong and the reason why it was wrong ? Because God was not one David . He never wanted his people to trust on themselves . By counting the number of soldiers , it was showing that they trusted in themselves . And this morning , brothers and sisters , as we go to pray , god does not want us to trust on ourselves . God does not want us to trust on our education , all our experience , all the money that we have , all the jobs that we have , all the relationship that we have . No God wants us to trust him 100% . Our trust needs to be in God . David knew this was wrong and he counted the men . God hates it when we trust on ourselves , and that's why prayer is so important . That's why prayer is so powerful , because prayer is an indication that we are not trusting on ourselves , we are trusting on God .
Speaker 2And so this morning , brothers and sisters , I want us to go before the Lord and pray . There are many things I can share this morning , but let me stop there so that we can go ahead and pray . But let us pray that , first of all , we will not forget what God has done . We have been crying to him since this pandemic started and God has been good . We have seen him lifting his hand . This disease is gone in Jesus' name . But there will be pressure for us to forget what God has done . So I'll for God that he had been anointed by death by somewhere . God has chosen him , despite him being from the weak , the list of tribes , but he has chosen him to be king of his people . And God reminds you this morning , brothers and sisters , let us not forget what God has done . Do not forget the miracles that God has done in your life . Do not forget that our God has come through Unless a fellowship . This morning , we can never forget what God has done for us and therefore I want us to go before God this morning .
Speaker 2Now I have to respond to that one the issue of obedience to God . Rebellion , oh rebellion . Those are the things that I have to identify Rebellion and arrogance . Let us pray that these things will never be mentioned in our lives and that we are not going to go back . We are not going back to religious assemblies where we are just gathering for the sake , where we are just doing church , is a motion that we will do and we will obey God . We will be connected to him , we will be connected to the spirit of God and we will walk in humble obedience . When that happens , god sends his blessings upon us . When the opposite happens , god takes actions . He took him . He sent this day . He said he will send them to exile . He gave David three options . He said I'm giving you three options .
Speaker 2When there's disobedience , when we know what we are supposed to do and we don't do it , oh , god takes action . He gave David three options . He told him option number one I can send a family , I can send a disease upon and into you . I can send you to fall in the hands of your enemies . David said you know what ? I just want to fall in the hands of God because he's merciful . And in all these two occasions we see God sending a prophet . When Saul was in disobedience , he sent the prophet someone . When David was in disobedience , he sent the prophet God to go and speak to David . He sent the prophet someone to go and speak to Saul .
Speaker 2So God is speaking to us through his word this morning and I pray that we are going to go before him . Let us pray for complete spirit of obedience , a spirit of surrender , a spirit of total obedience . Let us pray that our God will not creep into us . Our God is when we feel like we know it all , when we cannot be told anything . When we are proud , pride and our God's come go out in hand . We can start being proud . We can look at ourselves and think we are special . We can look at ourselves and nobody can talk to us . Our spouses can't talk to us , or we cannot listen to our parents . We cannot listen to those that are in authority , the obscenities happening in our country , where people are openly rebelling to authority . This is the spirit of arrogance and I want us to go before the Lord and we pray . It does not matter what happens .
Speaker 2God works through leaders . God speaks through leaders . He spoke through Samuel to Saul . He spoke through prophet God to David . God speaks through leaders and the spirit of disobedience is raining much in our nation and this morning I want us to go before the Lord as we pray for ourselves , let us pray for our countries , let us pray for spirit of obedience to reign upon our people , to reign among the Christians , to reign among our leaders , because God desires us to rise up and get the spirit of and rebellions Right and arrogance and rebellion , for God hates these things and when they manifest themselves , god does take action . So let us go before the Lord and cry upon him . This morning , just open up your mouth , whatever you are , and respond to this word . Let us intercede for ourselves , let us intercede for our friends , let us intercede for our nations in the name of Jesus Christ . So , father , this morning , when we go before you , we lift up our hands and our Lord and thank you for your word .
Speaker 2This morning , o God , you spoke through the prophet and you said about how you hate religion . And this morning , father , in this prayer meeting of King of Glory , we receive your word . We receive your word , king of Glory . We say we are hearing what you are telling us , and this morning of my father , first of all , we are pray the Lord . You forgive us all , lord , where we have been disobedient this morning . Father , forgive us for Jesus Christ . Father , forgive us , o Lord . Father forgive us as individuals , forgive us as families of Jehovah . Forgive us as a ministry . Forgive us , o King of Glory , where we have been so paid you , jehovah , we have not been for Friday To do that you have called us to do .
Speaker 2This morning we stand on the carpet . Oh , the prophet , samuel , cried out the whole night and this morning we are joining together in his prayer to come to you . This morning we are crying out . Samuel cried out the whole night . This morning , o Jehovah , father , we are uniting together as a church . We are uniting together , jehovah , as a fellowship . This morning we are crying out of Jehovah . Our desire and our prayers goes out to you , jehovah . We desire to walk in obedience . We are praying . We are praying as we join together with all the saints . O Lord , one thing that we desire is that , god , there shall be obedience in our nation's King of Glory . We are praying this morning for a spirit of obedience . When we read in the newspaper , when we watch on the televisions and we see leaders in open disobedience , we are praying for the Lord and we know you walk through leaders , o God , you are the one that is the most delicious leadership of King of Glory . So , my father , this morning , O Lord , we are all , my God , bowling in your hands . This morning , o God , we are serving in church leaders . O God , being disobedient of King of Glory .
Speaker 2This morning we are saying forgive us . This morning we are saying forgive us , lord , in the name of Jesus . O Lord , forgive us , forgive us as a nation this morning , forgive us as Christians , o Lord . Forgive us . This morning , o God , we have disobeyed you , your over and gone to churches and leave it on our hands . We have disobeyed you and carried money to give you in church . Oh , my father , you speak to us this morning . You say you hate it , o Lord .
Speaker 2And this morning we are repenting , o Father . We are repenting on behalf of all the Christians . O Father , o Lord . So so say you know God . I said so , just wanted the money . All the soldiers are the ones who put pressure on me . We wanted to go and offer it to you .
Prayer for Forgiveness and Resistance
Speaker 2So try to justify . And we have seen even Christians , we have seen churches try to justify what they are doing , what they are doing , what they are doing . And this morning we are saying forgive us , o Lord . Forgive us as a national Lord . We have turned the blind eye and not working . Your name , o Lord , this morning . Forgive us , o Lord .
Speaker 2This morning , forgive us , o Jehovah . So try to justify . He tried to show the good things , oh , that he expect the best . So he could give it an example . What we are doing is what we are doing and justifying our actions . We are justifying our actions , o Lord . Father , we pray in the name of Jesus Christ .
Speaker 2This morning , my father , we know you hate it , o Lord , and you can take action on us as a nation . Father , forgive us this morning and some will cry to you . We are saying forgive us , o Lord , forgive us , o King of glory , forgive us this morning , my father . Have mercy , Jehovah , have mercy on us , o Lord . Do not , o my father , punish us this morning , o God , as a nation has to believe us , o my father . We are saying forgive us this morning , forgive us this morning , o my father .
Speaker 2As David said , you are a nation . Forgive us this morning , o my father , forgive us this morning , o my father . Hallelujah , my God , lord , right now , my father , we have seen the spirit of arrogance and pride and we know , my father , how much it comes , how much and how quickly it comes when you have lifted us from nothing , my father , and you have put us in high positions . O , my God , that is the one who put you there . I'm the one who raised you up . You spoke to David and you said you are shepherd and the one that lifted up from from being a shepherd , into the palace . And this morning , my father , we are pray for the spirit of arrogance that recently creeps into us as individuals .
Speaker 2This morning , my father , even as a minister , my God , we can become arrogant . We can look at what you have done to us and we can become proud of what we have accomplished . My father , we can look at our families and look at what we have done , what you have done through us , o , my father , and we can become proud . We can become arrogant . We can become insensitive to what you have done through us . We can start thinking it is us , we can start thinking it , our own ability . We can start thinking it's because we are smarter . We can start thinking it's because we are smarter .
Speaker 2Jesus Christ , we are refusing on my father the spirit of arrogance this morning and pride that so much quickly set us in us . We are saying , my father , let pride not rest , let us not stand on our own ability . David became proud and he said go and count for me the men that are able to fight . He commanded job to go and do the count because he was going to trust on his hand . He was saying look at what God has been able to do , look at what I've been able to accomplish .
Speaker 2And this morning , on my father , we are praying that pride is not going to set in our hearts . It's not going to set in our lives . As you uplift , as my father , as you grow , as my father , as you expand , as O God , as you do great things in ourselves , as you bless us with jobs on my father , I pray that the day we are crying to you that you bless us with jobs on my father , and you have come through for us , and quickly , we forget . We start all thinking it is us . We forget where you have collected us from , we forget the suffering that we went through this morning on my father , by the anointing that's flowing here , my father .
Speaker 2We resist the spirit of pride this morning , the spirit of self dependency . We are rejecting this spirit from the devil , in the mighty name of Jesus Christ . Oh , I'm my father . Oh , I'm my father . You say you hate it . Oh , lord , the spirit of arrogance . Oh , lord , where we cannot be told anything , where we cannot listen to wisdom , where no one can speak to our lives , where nobody can speak to us , we feel like we know it all . We feel like we cannot be told . We feel like we are now too bigger . We feel like we are now too prosperous . We feel like we are now so rich . We feel like we are now so bigger that no one can speak to us .
Speaker 2Oh , this morning , my father , we pray that you forgive us so long , boy , so quickly come through . We forget where we came from . We forget the things that you have done through us . We forget it has been you that has lifted us up , my father and the people that are here to speak to us . They can no longer speak and we listen . Men that would respect it can no longer speak and we listen , father . This morning , my father , I pray , I get a spirit of our God , oh lord . We pray this morning , oh lord , that this place should not find room in any of our lives this way , do not find room in anyone that is connected . This morning , this way , do not find room in our homes . For my father , we are praying for sons and daughters that shall be obedient , my God . We are praying , oh lord , for congregations this morning that shall be able to listen and obey . We are praying , oh father , for a nation , oh God , that's united together , where the leaders speak and people listen .
Speaker 2In the name of Jesus Christ , we resist your , say , arrogant spirit . We have seen you manifesting it , even in our leaders this morning , and we are repulking you right now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ . We know you , devil . It does not matter which suit you come with . We know you and we see you . And right now we are saying we are speaking to you right now Get out of our nation right now . You , spirit of arrogance , we know you , we know you , we have seen you before , we know your color , we know the suit that you come in and we know how you come in . And we know you out of our parliament . We are speaking you out of our leadership , we are speaking you out of our senator , we are speaking you out of every leader in our nation this morning , in the name of Jesus Christ , it does not matter what color you come in , it does not matter how you must parade yourself , but you , spirit of arrogance and you , spirit of rebellion , we know you . You are from the feet of hell .
Speaker 2In the name of Jesus Christ , we are saying you not rain in our land . We are saying you , not destroy our nation . We are saying you , not destroy our people . We are saying you , not send us again to fighting . In the name of Jesus Christ , we are not going back to fight him . We are not going back to divisions , we are not going back to tribal divisions . We know you , devil , and this morning I'm speaking to you , whatever you are right now , I'm telling you pack up . Right now . Right now , we know you too well . We know you too well . You have no new tricks , you have larry of run out of tricks . And right now we see you coming again and we are saying no .
Speaker 2We are resisting you right now , this morning , by the anointing that's flowing in this service . We are saying no in the name of Jesus Christ . We , in our churches , right now , we are speaking obedience . We are praying for spirit of obedience among the leadership of the churches . Right now , we are praying for all the bishops . We are praying for all the pastors . Right now , in the name of Jesus Christ , you used pastors , you used prophets to speak to the leaders .
Speaker 2This morning , my father , by the anointing that's flowing in the service of my god , I'm going to tell you where we listen to you . We listen to you the spirit of rebellion , the spirit of rebellion , rebellion , rebellion in the family , rebellion in the in the family , my father , this morning , oh god , we are saying no . We are saying families destroyed because of rebellion . We are seeing demonstrations rising after country , country after country . You are the same devil , the devil of rebellion , and this morning we are resisting you . We are saying you'll not find room , you will not find room in our country , you will not find room in our nation , you will not find room in Africa , you will not find room in the world . In the mighty name of Jesus Christ , it does not matter which color you come in , but we are saying , we are saying no In the name of Jesus Christ , and we are going to prevail . We are going to come out strong . We shall be strong as a nation . We shall be united as a nation . We shall be united as a body of believers . We shall be united as we walk in obedience in the name of Jesus Christ .
Speaker 2They are for this morning , my god , we want to worship you . This morning , we want to worship you this morning . We want to thank you . We are not forgetting and going back . In the name of Jesus Christ , we are desiring nothing but your presence this morning . We are desiring nothing but lord . You are lifting . Oh god , lift up your voice this morning . Let's just thank god for what he's going to do . Let us thank god for what he's going to do in our lives . Let's thank god for what he's going to do in our ministry . Let us thank god for what you continue to do in our ministry . Let us thank god for what he is doing today . Let's thank god for what he's doing right now . Let's thank god for our nation . Thank god for the peace , thank god for the unity , Thank god that he's going to prevail . In the mighty name of Jesus Christ , there shall be order , there shall be obedience . Oh , there shall be peace , there shall be harmony . In the mighty name of Jesus Christ . So far that we thank you this morning we worship .
Speaker 2David was so conscious stricken . The prophet God went to him and he told him go up and build an altar to the Lord . Go and build an altar near the threshing floor of our runam . David went up to build an altar and this morning I believe with all my heart this altar that God has established , where we can call him upon him every morning . This is an altar that God has established , that God has established that through this altar we may command , where , through this altar , we may take control . Through this altar we may declare destiny in our nation , destiny in our families . Bible says that David went up . He went up to build the altar and he was offered the auction and all the things that was needed for the offering . But David said you know what ? I'm not going to give an offer , I'm not going to build an altar and give an offering that has not costed me . He refused to accept anything for free and he paid for everything that was needed . He paid for everything that was needed and the Bible says they offered a sacrifice there and the pestilence stopped , the plague that was raining came to an end .
Speaker 2And this morning , brothers and sisters , as we praise , we move in obedience . All one thing that God desires is that we may sacrifice . I don't know what God is calling you to sacrifice . I don't know what God is calling you to sacrifice , but I know , this morning , as we serve God , god requires us to sacrifice . Oh , god requires .
Speaker 2I say David said I'm going to pay for it . I'm going to pay for it myself . I don't want to go there to go and offer . I don't want to go and offer to an offering that has not costed me . This morning I want to challenge each one of us . Let us step forward . Let us step forward in and let us invest in the kingdom of God . Let us invest in the kingdom of God . Let the work of God , let the work of God not be done cheaply . Let us invest in the kingdom of God . Let us step forward . This is our business , this is the business of our Lord . Let us step forward . Let it be a sacrificial . Let us show the pain of sacrifice . Bible says David removed money and he offered to pay for the bulls . He paid for the
Seeking God and Obedience
Speaker 2auction .
Speaker 2This morning , brother and sister , as we continue seeking God and walking in obedience , let us step forward . Let us serve God . Let us be generous in his kingdom . Let this business of God be our number one priority . Let us make our time , let us make our resources available to him . Let us open our hearts to be used of God . Let us , let us move forward . Let this kingdom of God be our number one priority . And as we make God , our number one priority is , we are going to be a priority in him . So let the kingdom of God let this business of God let us , let us , let us cost us . David paid it costily .
Speaker 2And this morning I want to challenge us . Let us be generous to God . Let us be generous with our time , let us be generous with our resources . Let us be generous to God , and as we do that , god is going to do great things . So , father , this morning , we love you . I will worship you . We bow down in your presence . We appreciate what you have done to us . We bless you , god . There is no one like you . Obedience this morning is our desire and I pray that . Lord Almighty , in these last days where people are not willing to be spoken , where people want God to listen to anyone , where people feel like they know it all , I pray that obedience shall be found in our midst . Our young men shall be obedient . Our women shall be obedient . Our men shall be obedient . We shall build an obedient society that will bring glory and honor to your name . We thank you and we worship you this morning . Blessed be your name , brother James , on the way hand over to you .
Speaker 1If God in the house could turn and give markets phenomenal .
