A faith that has flatlined can be a good thing--that means it can be in a position to flourish again.
Show Notes

Faith is not a personal power you possess to create your own future. Faith is not a tool given by God to create your own reality and change your world. It’s not a magic wand that you wave at your own will. God is sovereign. You are not. He’s in charge and He’s calling the shots. God gave you faith as a virtue to trust the future that He has promised. That future is clearly outlined in the Bible. When God gives faith, it is the assurance of things hoped for that He promises, not every little thing our hearts desire. When Paul wrote the phrase "faith is the substance of things hoped for," he was not really defining what faith is, but rather he is showing what faith does. Faith undergirds what we hope for. Faith is the very beginning of everything that really matters spiritually.
