Speaker 1:

I never told no one that my whole life I've been holding back. Every time I load my gun up so I can shoot for the star, I hear a voice like who do you?

Speaker 2:

think you are all right. Everybody. Another day, another dollar, another one of my favorite podcasts, favorite episodes yes, I'm a little biased filming the night before Thanksgiving. That's what happens when you're with entrepreneurs, when you're with salespeople, when you're with people that never take a day off. I've got a twofer, two guests. The first one, big Daddy himself, the man, the myth, the legend. He's been with me. Dude, you're like the Steve Martin of, like Saturday Night Live. I think you hold the record now the most appearances. Tyler, he pronounces his name different than I do. I do it the old country way Tyler Guzzo, ceo and head transformation coach of Guzzo Fitness, because of Guzzo Guzzo System Systems, where they help busy professionals lose fat, get healthy and happy again.

Speaker 2:

Over the past 10 years, he's helped thousands of patients. Let's make it hundreds of thousands soon and clients reach their goals. As a physical therapy and fitness professional, he's published 11 articles Partnership with the city of Hollywood, florida, during which he's hosted 106. It's probably like 112 now. That's old and currently works with clients from 15 different states and provinces. He's international, including canada. Certified personal trainer, strength coach and nutrition coach. He sleeps one hour a night. It's typical of him eats with chopsticks and he loves long walks on the beach, in the park, and I never asked guzo what is your horoscope, dude?

Speaker 3:

A horoscope that is a Capricorn. My birthday is actually one month and a day from today, sir.

Speaker 2:

Dude, no wonder I love you. Well, yeah, dude, you're just like my, my kid, my oldest. And then we've got a newbie. This is her first. Everybody always remembers their first, just like I helped Guzo with his first, his first entrepreneurship.

Speaker 2:

Erica diane munos you need a little the little squiggly on from 29 palms. Well, I'll read that 29, 41. It's very spiritual. How about if I was atheist? I want to understand that. She's got three boys. Started her fitness journey because she had to make a change, was type 2 diabetes. Wow, talk about an intro. Short, sweet, to the point, and you know what? You're an overcomer. And for those that don't know, because we're almost December 1st, almost time to welcome the birth of Jesus and I don't mean the gardener or the landscaper our Lord and Savior, psalms 2941, the Lord will give strength to his people. The Lord will bless his people with peace. Also, if you're betrayed, if you're weak, if you're sick or sinful, he's precisely the type of people Jesus delights to save. Did I get that right? Well, all those years of paying for Catholic school for my girls and CCD.

Speaker 4:

I did all that too.

Speaker 2:

And something that I've never discussed. I was also the producer of the Jimmy Swaggart show. For those that those that don't know who Jimmy Swaggart was, he was the pre OG before.

Speaker 4:

Joel, oh, that's cool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so talk to me. Who wants to go first? Tyler, I know you've been quiet, dude. You gave us a sign and you disappeared. Man, you disappeared, like so many of my exes. Man, just disappeared.

Speaker 3:

I was getting space for the intro. You were cooking, man. I want to let the oxygen get to the fire. And we got a flame flower in here, man, it was good, I was laughing away.

Speaker 2:

I love the hey zoom we need tyler, big daddy here soon to be dad to write your intro. Because let me tell you, man, if I ever need one of those um intros for, like, a dating app or a resume, man, tyler is the man. But but now spirituality, erica. Did you always have that? Even I mean type two diabetes. I've seen you at the start of the journey and I have to say congratulations. I know we're not at the Z yet, we're not the A, we're somewhere in the F. Well, a little further maybe L in your, your fitness journey, congratulations yeah yeah, great job, erica.

Speaker 3:

You, you, you're crushing it right now.

Speaker 4:

I'm trying one day at a time now.

Speaker 2:

the reason why we have both is because Erica's a little introvert, even though you can follow her on Instagram, follow her on the, follow her on the TikTok, follow her on everything, and she posts amazing content. I got to say you, you do everything. Well, you're, you're like, you're like my little guzzo here posting away.

Speaker 4:

And and I got to say, especially now, it's it's really inspiring and motivating because you show people you're like, hey, I try to show what I look like before and after and even though I don't like those before pics, but just so people can see, like where I started, like I was 219 pounds when I started with Tyler's program, you know, and people like to see that you know where you start, like you know, like especially like just progress photos, like the back photos or the side photos, or you know, like you see the difference in your face, or just you know the differences in your body, and I try to post it so people see, even though, like I get hesitant sometimes. I'm like you know, I'm just going to post it. I don't care what people think anymore, cause I was worried, like what people think. But now I just one post that Tyler posted, I think I posted on Facebook and then I'm like I'll post it on TikTok.

Speaker 4:

It was my very first post. I didn't post much on there. I just, you know, now I post like challenges and people see that you know, even one girl I met on TikTok joined the Guzzo group. So you know, that's why I post, to try to inspire people so they can, like you know, see, like you know it really works if you really follow the plan and when you say you're over 200, you're not but like 5, 11, 6, 1 or 6, 2 no, I'm 5 7 5, 7.

Speaker 2:

So what got you? What got you to 200 pounds a and b? What got you saying, hey, you know what? This really fucking sucks, man. Um three, it's a three-part. How the hell did somebody from the west coast find find my, my midwestern buddy? I was scrolling, literally I found him right.

Speaker 4:

I was at the doctors, literally my mom had me go for a checkup. I just went randomly and literally my doctor told me if I didn't make a change I would be on dialysis. And that was rough because I didn't want to go through dialysis and run to my family. People needed kidney transplants. And then I would just scroll on Facebook and I saw this ad for Gezzo Fitness and I reached out to Tyler and I was hesitant. So he showed us in testimonials and I'm like, oh, you know, people like I see, you know, people really like have really, you know, made a difference. He's really helped people.

Speaker 4:

So I joined and I literally just had a turning point from going through bad breakups, depression, just life, just kids in general, you know. And then I, when I joined, I had no idea what I was doing. I was going from the nutrition plan to the I don't work out. I didn't work out a day in my life the way that I work out now and that not like that at all. You know, just doing the workouts at home in my living room and no weights at all and seeing the results if you really follow the nutrition plan. I think was the hardest part for me, because I literally had to, like, just reorganize my entire house with, you know, all the stuff that he had on the grocery list for me and my kids and what they like and like how to figure out what they can eat as well. You know along with me too. So it was just an adjustment for them too. So just doing all that and just being consistent is what I learned Just consistency of it, because if you're not consistent, you're not going to see results.

Speaker 2:

I think that's just you. You know my opinion. And, tyler, how big of an ad spend were you doing to get people? Because I mean, I, I read, I read that I know you're in canada. That's why I say you're mr worldwide. Yes, clearly you know you're in the bare state of california yes and I mean, and it yes, and you're not like one of the gurus that we all love, like Patrick Bed-David, that has a million dollars pumping ads, correct?

Speaker 3:

I do not currently have $1 million in ads. That is correct. That is not currently where we're at.

Speaker 2:

But at the time you're doing what Like on a consistent basis, maybe what Two, three, four dollars a day ad spend, or a little more.

Speaker 3:

A little bit more than that. A little bit more than that At the time, that was in 2021. So Eric has been in the crew now since 2021. I think it was. September. I was actually you know what it's funny? Because it was September. I was actually you know what it's funny because it was like fate, because fate would have it that probably the next month. That was when my Facebook got shut down.

Speaker 4:

So if that were Silvio Guzman?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, because then I had to change my name to Silvio Guzman. Actually it was Silvio Dambalucci at first. That was an alter ego, and then I changed to Silvio Guzman, and then I went to Tyler Guzman, and then I went to tyler guzman and everyone would be like I'm in tyler guzman's program. It was kind of funny, but, um, nevertheless, if that would have happened a month earlier, erica would never have. Uh, we wouldn't, we who knows where erica would be right now.

Speaker 3:

Erica, you know, we we don't know where you'd be right now, but if they would have it, you, you, you saw the ad and er. Actually we had a come to Jesus moment. Speaking of Jesus, speaking of the guy's birthday. We had a come to Jesus moment pretty early in the program and Erica was feeling a little bit discouraged. She's feeling a little bit overwhelmed and I forget exactly what she said. But she said I got to get out of here, I can't do this. And I said Whoa, Whoa.

Speaker 4:

Whoa.

Speaker 3:

Let's take it easy here. I remember that, down off that ledge, my friend to quote that one famous song, and I put my arm around Erica, virtually, and I walked off the ledge and I said, erica, we're going to do this, you're not going to quit, we're going to keep going. And she kept going and going, and going, and going and going, and she's inspired many other people to join the program. It's like the domino effect, it's like the butterfly effect without Ashton Kutcher. He's also from Iowa, though, fun fact, and so at the end of the day, it's like one one decision can change a lot.

Speaker 2:

Omar, as you know, speaking of Iowa and Ash and Kutcher, you're not going to be on that list, right?

Speaker 3:

On the P Diddy list, since you just mentioned that. Well, it may be it was poor timing, it was, I don't know. I don't know anything about a list.

Speaker 2:

It gives you meaning to build it. And he will come, that's right I am not on P Diddy's naughty list.

Speaker 3:

That's what you're asking.

Speaker 2:

When it comes to Guzzo, he has the empathy. What people don't know is, like you know, everybody knows that you were that fat, fat kid that wanted candy and got teased. But you know, nobody knows that. Everybody looks at you and you know they see the shredded guy, whether you had the hair or now that you're bald Right, and you know, usually it's like, oh, you know, usually it's like, oh, you know what's this, you know what's this dude. You know this guy, this guy just want this guy's like a guru. This guy just wants to steal my money. He doesn't really care. But yet you know what the best part about tyler is that he, he was in your, your shoes, like you know, many years ago.

Speaker 2:

Everybody starts their fitness journey differently and you know everything happens for a reason. I mean literally. Erica, yeah, this is the day before Thanksgiving, but you know how many people are already checked out. You said September, if you didn't want to make it a must, must, if you didn't realize that you needed to lose weight, like you needed your next breath of air, you know what you would have said. You'd be like, yeah, shit, it's only like 90, 90 days. Why am I gonna waste my time and energy. There's halloween coming and thanksgiving and then, um you know, kwanzazaa and Christmas and Festivus and Hanukkah. I'll just start January 2nd.

Speaker 4:

But you didn't do that. There's frustrating days, you know, especially with the kids, you know, because I have three of them Nick has Down syndrome, noah has autism, adeshi and Isaiah has autism. So you know every day could be a challenge with them, but I'm thankful for them. They're my blessing every day Cause you know, no matter how tough it gets, they see mom working out and they work out with me. We'll go for walks. You know, like we did the 10 K yesterday, they were happy. We got two miles in yesterday and that got them all tired out. They were all calm but they loved it. And now they ask me oh, can we go for a walk, mom? And there's sometimes I'm tired but I'm like, okay, let's go for a walk, I don't want to go, but they, they like, want to go because they see me doing it.

Speaker 2:

So they want to go walking so it must have been hard for them because, being being on the west coast, they had, you know, the truer rolls and and all the good stuff a long time. The good stuff to eat, go to disneyland, go to kn stuff to eat. Go to Disneyland, go to Knott's Berry farm, go to magic mountain.

Speaker 4:

They've done all that.

Speaker 2:

They do all that with their aunts. They do, okay, they still do that, yeah, but but still you were at the point where you had the lucky charms and all of a sudden, then, all of a sudden, you're like hey, you know it's, it's easier as an adult. You do it at seminar and you're dumping out the champagne and the booze and you feel inspired. You have the music going. But it's a lot harder when children are used to eating horrible.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, but now they know to eat healthy, because everything in my house is cereal, sugar, quest products, low-calorie chicken, chicken, ground turkey I don't even buy regular trick, I do all ground turkeys, steak, vegetable, you know, fruits, all that kind of stuff like for Thanksgiving. I'm doing the pies, I'm doing protein pumpkin spice pie, sugar-free apple pie, sugar-free pumpkin pie, no sugar-free blueberry pie and a sweet potato pie congratulations, that's yeah, I didn't you know, the only there's.

Speaker 2:

All my, my life goes into cycles every right now, like I'm I well, I work out every day. But right now I'm in the seafood phase where, if I can see, I see myself eating the food and and then, you know, one day just wake up and I'm like the music goes and I'm like, well, I need to do a 75 hard. It's an on and off switch.

Speaker 4:

I know it's bad, but there's some days I want a fat burger, but I don't. I'll just eat my turkey burger with the lettuce wrap and the bacon and, of course, my pickles love pickles, Go, go to In-N-Out, you know, just just go to In-N-Out. I don't like. I'm not a fan of the fries, but I do the protein style burgers.

Speaker 4:

The fries are horrible, I learned that too, though I thought you couldn't, you know, lose weight eating out when I didn't know. You know, like I've said, I learned a lot of Tyler's program. You can still eat out and still like meet your protein goals, and you know your macros and all that.

Speaker 2:

Like you know, when I go to restaurants and I make it work, I don't eat all of it. You don't eat some of it. That's the way to do it. That's the way to do it. Or, or, you know, because a lot of times people fall off the wagon. I remember years ago I was on a, you know, on my dating phase, and this woman was like eyeballing her food. It looked like she wished she had a little scale and you know that I every like I go through phases. So three size 33, 34, 36. At the time I was a size 33 and we were like at one of those jewish deli places I'm like just eat the friggin bagel. Who effing cares? Man, because, right, guzo, right, if somebody is so strict that that you know they can't go into uh, publics or amp or kroger, and like I cannot go down the the middle aisles, I cannot go out to eat, usually they crash. Right, when you can't be that strict man, you're gonna be hating your life. There are. Your life, there are sequences to it.

Speaker 3:

There are sequences to it. So you definitely, you know, some people uh have self-control off the jump. Uh, some people need to be pretty strict and then find the balance in between. But I think ultimately, yes, you eventually have to find your balance, because if you live life like that, there's so much really good marketing out there, there's so many commercials out there, there's so many billboards, there's so many good places to eat. You just walk outside in South Florida and it's like there's a restaurant right there in your face, and whether it's In-N-Out or it's fast food, or I guess there's really no In-N-Outs down here but whether it's a fast food place or or it's pollo tropical, or it's public subs or it's juan's bodega.

Speaker 2:

Whatever the case is, there is a place you can get convenient food at. We can tell you have a latino girlfriend, you're you're throwing. Are you gonna start talking about pastelitos too, or what?

Speaker 3:

well, I didn't get this noise injury from doing nothing now. So you know, at the end of the day, um, no, it's, uh, it's it's, it's something where you, you're in in the real world. You're in the real world, so you have to, you have to be able to go out and see these things and not, uh, not have a relapse episode, because then, like you said, you're just going to lose all that progress.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and the best part about it is, you know I'm a firm advocate of the open meal. Two meals a week won't kill you, not to cheat days like some people, because you'll never lose or you'll never do anything. But it's like thanksgivings tomorrow fucking eat whatever the hell you want now be grateful 365 days. We don't need one day to fucking start posting that we're we're grateful for our, our first grade teacher and all this bullshit that people post. So you know I I hate when people follow. I love the first grade teacher and all this bullshit that people post. You know I hate when people follow.

Speaker 3:

I love the first grade teacher, by the way.

Speaker 4:

But this is this. I'm enjoying this. It's just I've never done what the curse words is just throwing me off because I was really trying to keep it clean.

Speaker 2:

Well, you know some, it depends I I'm real. If I'm around people that I don't know, I won't curse until the the I just no, I mean but you know, me and Guzzo, I mean almost got kicked out of Houston's with them. So when it, when it comes to cursing there, you know wearing that exact hat.

Speaker 3:

Right there he was reprimanded.

Speaker 2:

No, no, it's an lsu hat dude. If I was repping my own business or my own podcast, that woman would have had a fucking taken off my head. Dude, because you know dude this is a I, I've you.

Speaker 3:

You're not even wearing any guzo stuff man, I will, I, I yeah, I, you know, it is it's, it's.

Speaker 2:

Thanksgiving dude, let's just chalk it up.

Speaker 3:

You know I typically do. I'm pretty. I'm pretty pretty head to toe, but I've changed up. You know I got the polo on. I'm going to be a dad Omar.

Speaker 3:

So you know and you have a shirt on dude, you know last couple of times I've seen you out on a shirt, dude, it's very true, it's very true, you gotta show off the product. But you know, I, I think, I think, uh, omar, your posts are very, you know, everyone's got got their input. You know, I think, some people that are trying to lose weight, it's important to be uh to to moderate days like thanksgiving, enjoy yourself for sure. But we talked about in the group, one plate, do a two plate rule. One plate, half a protein, quarter carbs, quarter veggies.

Speaker 3:

One plate, do whatever you want, enjoy yourself, right, and that'd be like an A plus, right, and A would just be like okay, I'm going to just try and get protein. I'm trying to get protein in during the meal, because most people are just going to go for the stuffing, the mashed potatoes, the gravy, the pies, a little bit of jerking, that's it. And then an A-minus would be like you know what you ate, whatever, you didn't care, but at least you had a walk-in, right. So you're going to get an A regardless. Just, you know, do you want the plus, do you want the A, do you want the A-min? So don't, don't crush yourself on Thanksgiving, but try and at least be mindful, it's harder for, like your girlfriend Erica and myself, because you're from the Midwest.

Speaker 2:

It's like one starch and you know it's veggies for Latinos. You know we carbo load. The more starches the better. And that's not just Thanksgiving, that's not happy Thanksgiving. You can do that. Three hundred and 365 days of eating multiple starches. Our definition of usually a veggies is oh yes, I had black beans with that or I had red beans with that.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's a good point, actually. Yeah, I've actually found myself in situations where I've had to turn down for breakfast, mind you. Then I had to turn down rice. For some reason, I don't know why that was served for breakfast, but it was. Then there were plantains All within one meal. It was like it was like it kept coming. It was like a Joe Frazier fight.

Speaker 2:

You've been to South America, we eat. When you're down in South America, they'll eat fucking cake for breakfast, dude, every meal, yeah, breakfast, you know. You know, I'm one of those Latinos here. But going down to South America it's weird, man Cause, you know, we, we pretend we're eating healthy but we call it like a muffin. Or, you know, we want to lie to ourselves. We don't want to say we're eating cake, you know, but in South and Central America they're like hey, you know, but in South and Central America they're like hey, be squatch, I'll eat some cake.

Speaker 3:

Ah, yes, yes, yes, yeah, I mean it tastes good. It tastes good, it's you got the right mindset on it, but I like, I like where you're coming from, though, omar, too, at the same time, you enjoy life, you, you, and you still maintain you're working out, and I've talked to a lot of people recently. They do it for the mindset aspect, you, you do it for the mindset aspect. I would assume you know you push yourself mentally, physically as well, but you do it because you, you're like, you know I'm in shape, but I work out every day because I need to. You know I need to sharpen the eye, don't?

Speaker 2:

well, both of you don't. You feel great at times when you're like. You know you're like, you know you're gonna get doms, the delayed onset, muscle soreness, and it's not because you know you haven't worked out in a month, it's because you really push yourself, man, and you know it's like I have a torn, torn labrum, that you know, with a little bondo and that bullshit stem cell. And you know I'm I'm gunning. I could hit 225 on a bench before, but but now, and you know it's, it's always to push yourself because I've got zero athletic ability and right now I'm like at 205, 215 on a bench and it's like, just there, just there.

Speaker 2:

And yeah, who gives a fuck? You know people always like, oh, you ran a marathon. And yeah, who gives a fuck? You know people always like, oh, you ran a marathon. That's point zero. Who cares, man? You know what really matters is, erica, you being a mother, tyler, you being a father soon, you being an entrepreneur. Erica, you showing people how to do it. But a lot of times you get caught up. But yeah, I don't do it for the, I don't do it for the posts.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, a lot of my I do because I I love working out now. When I started, oh god, I hated a workout I dreaded everybody at times, weren't, weren't you like?

Speaker 2:

you get caught up in numbers.

Speaker 4:

You're like oh well, this you know I don't post for that, I just post just to share my journey and share that we're doing the challenge. No, no, no.

Speaker 2:

But when it comes to do, you work out because you love the feeling.

Speaker 4:

Oh, I love the feeling of working out.

Speaker 2:

Because a lot of times people get wrapped up in numbers oh, I need to do such and such weight, or I need to be able to do a half a marathon, or I need to do a triathlon, and it's like. But why Like?

Speaker 4:

you know I just do because I love to work out and I feel good. And I know I, even though if I don't, even the days I don't want to work out, I still go, like with my friend Laura we've been pushing each other in a gym. You know we just motivate each other. You know I just love to go because I love going now and I'm, I'm I have nobody to impress.

Speaker 2:

I'm 51, so when I want to start fitting into size 33 again, I just like that, it, it. It's like a muscle, but like like what I was telling you guys earlier right now I just love seeing myself eat food and the reason why I'm not doing the 75 hard like the millionth time is because right now it would be so cliche. Oh, I'm doing it after thanksgiving or I'm doing it on the first, so I'm just gonna do like a random fucking day and then start posting the pics like day 28, then day 40, and oh my god, you know, I I don't do do it for the cyber hugs. I'm actually an introvert. I'm like a socially inept. Like I can talk to you guys, but like around people that you know, I can sell something as being an entrepreneur or a sales guy, I can be as out there as possible. I can feel, seem like I'm the life of the party, but I'm not man.

Speaker 2:

When, when I don't need to be some, some random woman, I came to cycle bar when I was a member there. Now I just pay, I don't go and she's like oh my god, I listened to your podcast, I read your book awesome and I was like, uh, yeah, and I went to gainesville with my, my kids, she, uh, my oldest came into town to watch lsu lose to the gay gators and, um, all these people were like talking to me in the bar, my kids underage. So I was there by myself. I'm like, oh, I hate this. Why do they keep on talking to me? Man, I don't want you know, that's pushing past your comfort zone yeah, yeah, yeah, everyone's all different.

Speaker 3:

You know, everyone's a little, a little different in that way, right, erica? I mean you, you push past your comfort zone in many different ways I have, like you know, when I go lives.

Speaker 4:

You know I've been trying to go live once a week.

Speaker 3:

Right, erica's been going live. What day do you go live? What time do you go live?

Speaker 4:

I might do it tomorrow. Maybe Not tomorrow, then right before Foodie Friday We'll see Erica also does Foodie Friday as well.

Speaker 3:

Well, Omar, you're in the group. Erica goes live. She makes a Guzzo Fitness cooking apron as well, I think we got what Kodiak protein balls on Friday.

Speaker 2:

Guzzo, you're going to make me cry, man. This coming from the you just threw, you just pushed through a promo, a plug there, and this is the same guy. Oh, can I just leave a couple xerox copies, oh my well I?

Speaker 3:

I may have done that. It came naturally, omar, you just did that did right.

Speaker 2:

Like like a dude, practice makes perfect, exactly now.

Speaker 3:

Now, how often are these videos, these lives once the foodie, oh yeah, the one on your public page oh, I do them once a week, either thursday or fridays you see where we're trying to get you out of that.

Speaker 2:

You, you have to be. You have to be a promoting machine. You have to.

Speaker 4:

You have to do it until it's so uncomfortable that it becomes second nature to you I get get nervous when all eyes are on me and I'm like, oh, like I don't want to mess up or stutter my words, but I, you know, write my notes down before, like, what I'm going to say.

Speaker 2:

It's like what Tupac says all eyes on me. Remember that. Let's go for it.

Speaker 3:

It's you against the world, erica. And I think, at the end of the day too, erica, you have to realize like, yeah, omar's, omar's got the smooth tongue, he's got, he's got the silver tongue. This guy's just shooting, he's just I love it when I'm scrolling.

Speaker 4:

Well, when I'm scrolling tiktok on my free time, you know, and I see his post, I watch it. Sometimes I watch it twice because it's just so motivating.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and speak the truth but, like you say we're great-minded people I get, so I can't believe this motherfucker's telling me what to do and it's, it's like that.

Speaker 2:

That's actually from my mom's neighbor, oh my god this guy thinks he, this guy thinks he's a I can say that because I know my mom's not listening and and my hate mom, hate her neighbor or whatever she'll probably only watch a TikTok. You know Noly who's my mom. He thinks he knows it all. Again, he thinks he's a millionaire, a billionaire, and it's like, clearly the woman doesn't see any. When have I said you need, I am telling you to do this.

Speaker 2:

None of my videos, none of my books say you need to do jack shit. If you want to friggin be in your basement and your underoos jerking off and watching porn, go ahead. You know, I've never I'm not one person, not what? Not one of my frigging podcasts do I tell anybody, or my books or my videos, that I think I know everything. But yeah, post away, and I love it because I've seen you, because before. Yeah, that's why at times I do the little heart and I say you are a rock star, because I know, guzzo, that I wasn't watching his shit. I watch his videos. Yeah, I was very shocked.

Speaker 3:

He had an estrogen. Omar knew a lot of information about my life and I was like man. I didn't think Omar was following my content.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, there's only a few people that I do and the two of you. But I mean, unless you're a friend or you have great content, you can you guys have both, because a lot of people and Erica you should promote. You know you are a member of the. What if it did work page?

Speaker 4:

I don't know. Like sometimes I get nervous, I'm like, oh, I don't know what I should put in there. Like you know, you know, I have no idea what to put in there, like I normally just.

Speaker 2:

For a little while it was public, everything was open and, like you know, these bots were posting porn and people were thinking it was me you you don't remember that guzzo when I had on facebook oh my goodness yeah yeah, that's why I I had to put the approval and then now they stopped.

Speaker 2:

But yeah, it was like for a little while it wasn't even good stuff and people were thinking it was me and I was looking and it's like this isn't the material I'd even watch. You know, at least you know you know pick. You know go through my metrics, go through my phone, maybe my browser history, and try to match up. But you know, just don't put this random thing, things up there I think.

Speaker 3:

I think what Omar was trying to say, eric, is that is that people are going to, there's going to be a lot of naysayers out there and you just gotta, you gotta, you gotta believe in yourself because, despite what Omar's mother's neighbor says, if he would have stopped there, if he would have never had the goal to say you know what I'm going to, I'm going to give advice to people that want it. I'm not giving it to you, I'm putting it out there because I think it needs to be heard and it probably helped Omar at a variety of times. Like, omar is a content machine. If he, he's not afraid anymore, but I'm sure at one point in time maybe he he felt a little bit like, ah, I'm a little afraid to post it. I did, yeah, dude.

Speaker 2:

When somebody takes a shot, I leave it. I remember TikTok. Oh my God, dude, you have 300 followers and you're telling us what to do. And then I look at the guy. The guy's got like six followers. It looks like he still lives at home in his 30s and it's like dude. Look at the source man. It looks like he still lives at home in his 30s and it's like dude. Look at the source man. It's not like this guy's Warren Buffett telling me to press on. Well here, eric, I have to ask when you made this life change, when you decided just like that? Because when you make a decision like that, to change, was there anybody that's like Eric, don't do this. What are you doing, especially all this working out now, especially these lifestyle changes?

Speaker 4:

you know, I don't think I ever heard one negative comment like that. I just think, you know, when it came to like when I worked out of the base, you know they would do like a lot of um, potlucks and stuff like that. Oh, one day I could hurt you and that's when you you have to really discipline yourself and I'm just like no, I'm okay, I'm good.

Speaker 2:

You know, like I already ate none of those people that say just one day like that. They never look like mr olympia, like arnold schwarzenegger from like 1978 or 75, and these people never had that physique of mr olympia or mr universe, it's. It's always the person that, yeah, it looks like it wasn't just one day for you, it might have been one day of eating clean, but yeah, it's always the people that you don't want to follow that always want to give you the advice. It's the person that's been divorced like six times. He's like, ah, you know what, I'm going to give you some marital advice.

Speaker 3:

I'd be like I'm good, I'm good, it's true, though, it's always the people that want to give you. You know, you have to consider the source, and I think it was Theodore Roosevelt who gave a speech called the man in the Arena, and the only people that actually matter are the people that are out there putting themselves out there, not the spectators, not the people that are just from the peanut gallery trying to trying to stop you, because either a they're just critical, and yet they've whose marriage failed several times, or they're afraid that you're going to do what they want to do, and they want to stop you because if you do it, that means that they had the same opportunity and they could have done it as well.

Speaker 4:

I get tons of compliments now.

Speaker 3:

Like oh you look great Compliments are yeah and overabundance, and so I would just say keep posting, erica, keep promoting keep pushing it.

Speaker 2:

You know, at the end of the day, you're only out there to put positivity out there. It's not like I try to. I'm not trying to hurt anybody or anything like that. Now, erica, what's your end goal? Would you like to be a, a coach or a nutritionist coach for the?

Speaker 4:

um, a coach on the amazing guzzo team is my goal. That is the goal to help people and just have you told them your intentions or do we?

Speaker 2:

are we doing this right now? It's to help people I know, but but you want to be on the payroll, you, you want. You want that. I know, because when I put on that, I feel like kanye and said when I wear this hat, it's like when I wear this guzo shirt, I just feel like I can hit the globo gym. I can do the pre, I can do the crossfit workout wearing the guzo, but did you feel that like? You just want to?

Speaker 4:

so you want to be a part of the team, you want to be part of the empire yeah, just help people, and because I've known him for so long and he's been like a mentor to me and a really good friend, someone I really like, respect and admire, and I'm just like, why not work with the person that has helped me get to where I'm at today? Like that would be just like an honor to do. Like you know, I just and he knows my crazy schedule, with my crazy life, with my kids, so he understands everything how my life is he's, he's got empathy.

Speaker 2:

That's the capricorn he really is.

Speaker 4:

He's a really good person.

Speaker 2:

I'm so thankful to say that I really don't know what Capricorn, I just had to throw that out there, yeah well we're gonna go with it, omar.

Speaker 3:

We're just gonna agree with that and just say that's fact so is that your midterm goal?

Speaker 2:

is that your one year goal?

Speaker 4:

well, my weight's at 170 right now. I'm trying to get. I want to reach my goal before 150 and then that's it that's it, and just keep working out and just tone up my body.

Speaker 2:

That is the goal but it's just, it's just for you. You're not doing it for the cyber hugs no you're not, you're not, you're, you're happy right now, right, I'm happy.

Speaker 4:

Like you know, I'm happy. You know how I look now I'm feeling more comfortable. My own skin, because I was always a struggle to feel comfortable, my own body. I didn't really feel comfortable but now I have, you know, gained confidence. Being in his program, I've learned a lot more than just with weight. In his program too it's. It's a lot more than that. Just, you know, like certain situations, challenges get thrown at you, like not to go to food for comfort, you know, and I hit the gym harder this past couple weeks, you know, instead of going to food, I mean, I had one slip, skinny pop, that's it. But, um, that that was the only slip I had one slip.

Speaker 2:

I thought you were gonna say that you, you ate the chubby hubby.

Speaker 4:

No, I was like and I wanted something comforting, so I went for the skinny pop. I didn't go for in colors, but I had. Okay, yeah.

Speaker 2:

That's not like the Cherry Garcia that you.

Speaker 4:

No, but I mean, that was the only slip I had, because I had.

Speaker 2:

There's only like 10 servings or whatever in that little thing.

Speaker 4:

I think it's like okay, everybody, we're coming down to the family. We've got the little I've had Ben and Jerry's in a very long time. It's been a minute with that. But it's more than just weight loss. I've learned a lot. I think I learned a lot in the beginning when he had those motivation videos Like just start off your day with the right mindset. Now I get up early in the morning to try to meditate for at least 30 minutes while the boys are sleeping.

Speaker 2:

I've been trying to wake up. You found happiness within. I did.

Speaker 4:

I found happiness here. You have to be happy with yourself first.

Speaker 2:

And it took me a very long time to learn that. It took me I'm 51, it took me 46. I always thought, maybe if I did this, maybe if I wrote another book, maybe if I opened up another business, maybe if I hit this goal, that the heavens would shine, a rainbow would come out or a light and go. Omar, you have earned happiness. And yes, happiness is within. There's. No, doesn't matter if you have a six pack, doesn't matter if you're at your goal weight, if you crushed it the moment you put it. Happiness in the hands of numbers or goals? Or well, maybe if I go. If, then, if I do this, then I'll be happy. No, happiness is a choice. Every single day you wake up. God gave you Jesus and God gave you free will.

Speaker 4:

Choose happiness every single day. Yeah, I'm trying to do that more.

Speaker 2:

It's hard some days so the guzzo world, what's going on right this second, we are like, think about it. So many people now have been power eating not your, not your group, but the awareness has been okay. September came around, the last of our three-day weekends, we ate ate hot dogs like Kobayashi and Joey Chestnuts. Yes.

Speaker 2:

Labor Day, we were trying to fit as many hot dogs and hamburgers in our mouth. Before you know it, october came and our kids, you know, we were bobbing for apples. We ate the candy apples, the candy corn, and we've been power eating all the trick-or-treating candy. But hey, that's october, maybe november's good, and then friendsgiving, and then thanksgiving, and then we're here, we're in the mist. What are we going to do to stop this, that, this cycle, this, the cycle that's going to lead us to type 2 diabetes, the dick do syndrome. You look down and you can't see the dick. It can't do anything, but what. What is is is team guzzo. What? What is the plan to turn this around?

Speaker 3:

well, I will say this uh, we gotta turn that thing back on, omar, that's we gotta do. We gotta get that thing turned back on, but uh, we don't.

Speaker 2:

I know ozempic, you know what? I think that people are fucking cop outs that do that shit. There's a shortage of type 2 meds for actual diabetes and you fucking tools. Once you stop that shit because it's expensive, what do you think is going to happen?

Speaker 3:

yeah, yeah, you know, I think, I think that it's very that. That's that we can. That's a whole different topic. But as far as the those kind of medications and things like that, if you, that's a whole different topic. But as far as the those kinds of medications and things like that, if you're not practicing a healthy lifestyle with it, you're going to drop the weight very quickly. But a lot, of, a lot, a lot of people are saying now that a lot of the weight loss is coming actually from not just fat, but it's also coming from muscle. So you're going to put yourself behind the eight ball If you're, if you're going to go for something like that, or even like a quick fix weight loss right, anything like that, especially like in ozempic, where you're losing a ton of weight in a short period of time.

Speaker 3:

You are going to lose some muscle in a weight loss phase, but what percentage of the weight that you lose is muscle? And so if it's 50 50, you've lost all this weight. Now you start taking the medication, the cravings come right back, but also your metabolism is dropped significantly because now you have less muscle. Now you're really like you're in a bad spot. So you want to watch out for those things.

Speaker 3:

You also don't want to go into something that is quick fix, a five day thing, a five week thing, even a six week thing, right? That's why the lowest program that we had in terms of one on one was our, was our slimming 12 program, with the goal for people to get a good jumpstart and then realize it's a longer term thing, right. But at the end of the day, anything that you're thinking is going to be a quick fix, especially after the eat-a-thon that Omar was just talking about, where you're having cherry garcias and candy corns and you're bobbing for apples and putting caramel on your chest and doing all kinds of crazy stuff. You don't want to do that. You don't want to do that, that's the old manners dude, but go ahead.

Speaker 3:

You, yeah, you don't want to go for the short term because it takes the. It takes a long-term solution. And and by putting pressure on yourself I mean that's why I tell people to do it now. That's what we did slim in 12. Because if you would have started in September, one lady's already down 12 pounds in the past eight weeks. Right, she's going to go into new year with a ton of momentum, whereas people right now that are doing that you know, again enjoy yourself.

Speaker 3:

Do it in moderation, but don't sit there and say to yourself, well, I'm going to hop on the magic carpet to, to, to gold town, usa population me and all my friends that we're not doing anything over the holidays, not doing anything since labor day, and we're just going to flip the switch right. That's just not reality. And so, even if you do go to the gym, even if you do sign up, even if you do talk to a trainer, you put so much pressure on yourself that the minute you go off the plan, or the minute it doesn't go like you thought, or the minute it even resembles things that you failed in the past. That's when you get into that negative cycle, because you put so much pressure for the last three months, on January 2nd, january, 3rd January 2025. At the minute it doesn't go the way you think, or the minute you even feel slight like you did before, that little PTSD type thing, you're going to go back into that negative feedback loop.

Speaker 3:

And what do most people do? They turn to food to help them out, right, and so it's a bad choice. So what you should be doing at this point, you should be scoping out gyms. This is not just a plug on my program. Although Erica's down 40 pounds now over 40 pounds, she's dropped her A1C from being severely diabetic. What was your A1C when you started the program?

Speaker 4:

11. Now it's 5.4.

Speaker 3:

11. Now it's 5.4. Below it's in a normal range. All right, she cut it in half.

Speaker 3:

So you know, just because people like that are doing that in my program doesn't mean you have to join my program. It's not like it works or anything. But if you wanted to go to the gym, I would say listen, what are the three gyms in my area Starting in November? What are the three gyms in my area? Who do I know that goes there? Do I know any friends that work out? Do I know any friends like Eric who's seen results?

Speaker 3:

Start scoping it out now, visualizing yourself doing these things, and then actually go Get your feet wet incember, because no one's going to be there. It's going to be so easy for you to go in there, get your feet wet, get acclimated, start doing something and start building the momentum up for january 1st, when you really you know, when you have more time, when there's not as many holiday things going on. But don't just wait. That's the worst thing you can do is waiting is waiting. If erica would have waited and said let me get back to you in a month, guess what? She would have never found me ever again, because my Facebook was gone and we wouldn't have been able to connect. So by waiting you're just pushing, pushing off opportunities, and opportunities don't come all that often anymore, they don't just come out of the sky.

Speaker 2:

So I agree. Well, you know, usually people have to wait forever for their episode to drop and, like what I told Guzo before, I love him. So Advent is coming this week, I think, it's what, the 30th I think it is 24 days, 25 days, the arrival, the arrival of Jesus Christ.

Speaker 2:

Well, why don't we have the Advent of yourself, the arrival of the person that you always meant to be? I like that. Enough of hiding behind filters, enough of hiding behind wearing XL and double XL. Quit saying January 1st or January 2nd, why not now? Why not December? Why not a 28-day headstart? Sure, you can eat in Kwanzaa or Festivus or, you know, christmas Eve or whatever you celebrate. But what if you actually do believe in yourself? What if you actually said enough man, enough of? We've all been there. We've all three of us had one time in our lives.

Speaker 2:

Oh God, it's taking so much to tie these shoes or walking up the stairs. I must be in a high altitude area. No, motherfucker, you're at sea level. Enough, man, just do it. Why not join Guzzo guzo? Because you know I I love the guy, but I wouldn't have him on as often if I knew he was full of shit, like so many of those gurus that you guys follow, so many of those gurus that you pay for their programs and you know, all natural whether it's, you know, 60, 70 year olds that are looking rock hard, solid, 60s, 70s and 80s and looking fit. No man, I mean Tyler, you are the real deal. Thank you, and dude, you have great energy, dude. That's why I laughed with Xerox. If you're a dick and you're a douche, dude, you'd still be passing out Xerox somewhere.

Speaker 3:

It's very true, it's very true, it's very true. You know, and and that's I appreciate the endorsement, omar, and yeah, you, you gave me my first shot, the opportunity to pass out some, some flyers in the, the old store, and I but I think at the end of the day, that's, that's another example of just you know shooting your shot. Erica, take your shot. If you get an opportunity at something, don't wait because that opportunity window will close. So, but yeah, I think, at the end of the day, you know everybody's got a journey that they're on.

Speaker 3:

But you're right, what Omar said earlier 100% you can't tie. I just had a call with somebody today about that. You can't tie your identity to the goal, because if you tie your identity to accomplishing this goal, you know you're you're going to do some crazy stuff. Right, your mom passed away, your dad passed away. Well, no, I got to do the workout because I got to reach this goal. No, you're crazy, you got to take care of your family, you got to take care of your business and in the meantime, you can say you know what I'm going to still do my workout, I'm going to still focus on whatever the action steps are to get to the goal.

Speaker 3:

But don't beat yourself up because you didn't reach that. You know 20 pounds down and X amount of time, or 30 pounds or that million dollar year. Just realize that it's all about the journey and the steps you're taking. You're becoming a better version of yourself and you're actually becoming the kind of person that follows the habits that creates that end result, that goal that you want. It might not be in the time that you want, it may not look the way that you want it to look, but eventually you'll get there if you just keep putting the one foot in front of the other. And, uh, you know, and and and just I think the best way to go about it is have a positive attitude, where we all have a finite time on this earth, and and. So if you have a negative attitude, you're just going to be passing around toxic energy and people aren't going to want to be around you.

Speaker 4:

I used to be that person before I joined your program. I was negative, bitter, always angry, and I learned a lot and now I'm happier, more happy about life, smiling more.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, success will never define you. Failures will never define you. I don't walk around, failures will never define you. I don't walk around saying you know, oh, what I've done, that's all in the past. Anyways, and take your shot, because even though you get rejected, eventually someone will say yes. Even with my TEDx talk it's a little secret I applied like to 40 different and I got a couple, maybe, maybe, maybe. He's always no, by the way, and you know, oh well, we'll think about it. They're still thinking about it. Only one said yes in houston. So you know, at the end of the day, I could oh, it was my, my one time. But you know, just keep on, just keep on knocking on the door, you know, and if that's your end goal is because you want to be part of that empire that you know you're going to be at the ground level and grow it. Then then do it. Just, every no eventually becomes a yes in everything.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, you got to keep knocking. You got your foot in the door, omar. Congratulations on that, by the way.

Speaker 2:

You know what A year? Because, erica, this is something I always thought, you know, I had to have like some spectacular, oh, I have to write a new book or I have to do this for a whole year. Last November I was in H-Town Houston. I haven't done anything except podcasts and videos, and I did, like one talk, one paid talk, at a publicly traded corporation in New Jersey, but I purposely had zero, because every year, know, steven spielberg doesn't do movies every year and you know I don't need to go chase happiness, I don't need. Well, maybe some I'll impress this, this chick that I I I want to impress, fuck it, man, people should be impressed by who you are, not what you do.

Speaker 3:

Very impressive, very, very impressive.

Speaker 2:

So any turkey trots, any five K's, any Spartans? What are we doing? I'm doing a workout with Tyler at 4am Well, 7am for Guzzo, because he's a 4am, I'm waking up at 3am. Yes, I know.

Speaker 2:

You know that that's awesome m I'm waking up at 3 in the morning. Yes, I know, you know that's awesome. You know I have to hand it to you on that. I mean, I'm a firm believer in always working out, and only on days that end. And why? So you know, the Pilgrims would have wanted you to do it out there in Plymouth Rock. The pilgrims would have wanted you to do it out there in Plymouth Rock. They're like we landed in this strange place out in New England just so that Erica one day can have the freedom of working out on our holiday.

Speaker 4:

Right, right.

Speaker 2:

I miss the last day, so I'm going to bed early, like 8.30, and set my alarm for 3 am, guzo, and I can tell you you only need a couple hours of sleep, though you know we're not telling you because it affects the weight very much but look at you.

Speaker 4:

you know, dr Joe, I didn't even realize how much it affected the weight until I read about it yeah, yeah, that that.

Speaker 2:

That that's one of that's one of the things that you know, but it's hard to practice, especially with some. I'm always streaming, I'm always watching the Netflix and I'm always doing the fantasy football and always watching every sporting event. You don't watch TV that much, you know. I'm fucking with you.

Speaker 4:

I don't watch TV that much.

Speaker 3:

Kuzo knows that's not true. I just wanted to say that. Say it, man Omar. What's going on with you?

Speaker 2:

No, no, I mean, yeah, I do watch Usually. You know nothing crazy like that, Because if you're too busy with the streams, you can never work on your dreams.

Speaker 2:

You know, people check out. People use TV. People use Game of Thrones or the new Stranger Things or the new Wednesday or whatever series that they can't wait. It's so they can check out. You know this be your own damn hero. You know God gave you this, this thing called life, to live it every single day. A new chapter, a new page. So what are we going to promote both? I want a promotion from both of you if that's how we're going to end it well, I I will say this um you guys.

Speaker 2:

I know you're I know you're gonna. You're gonna promote like 20 different things, so that's all right, I'll leave it to one, okay? No, dude okay, always have one offer, because you're gonna fucking confuse everybody. That's the one thing I've always wanted to tell you okay, fair enough don't, don't, don't, you know, for the fucking boot camp man. I know you it's not free anymore, but I want mma remember this erica mma making activity making activity.

Speaker 3:

Well, fair, fair enough. Well, the boot camp is, it is. You know it's paid now, but, uh, that's side, that's side of the point. We had a uh, black friday deal going on, but it's closed. Ladies and gentlemen, it's closed. You can no longer get in. Erica actually got one of the custom shirts because she's an og in the group, so you're gonna have to wait till january and we may have some deals coming out then, but just stay tuned. Follow my page. How about that? Follow me at guzzo fitness underscore on instagram, tyler guzzo on facebook, and if you want to learn more, you can reach out to me. I'll add you to the email list and, uh, I'll give you my free standard weight loss guide and then you can get all the free information you want. And stay tuned for January, cause you might have some deals, some specials. I can't let that information out right now, but you missed out If you're listening to this right now. Stay tuned for January. It's going to be great. Follow my page.

Speaker 2:

Erica.

Speaker 4:

I'm not really sure what to promote.

Speaker 2:

Right now you sound like somebody that wants to post to hand out a couple of Xerox copies in my fictional store. You can't do that anymore. I got kicked out of smoothie things so we can't do that I was too bad for the system.

Speaker 4:

I just like to promote my baking recipes. You can still eat your sweets and still enjoy it, because I love sweets. So when I put edibles in them or what I've had one, oh I shouldn't say that on camera.

Speaker 2:

Okay, okay, how do we find. How do we find this?

Speaker 4:

instagram. I have another page. I'm nutrition mom I think believe nutrition underscore mom, so and I post all the recipes on there and the ingredients on there and I tag tyler, and then some too when we do foodie fridays.

Speaker 2:

So okay, and the final question. Each of you will have this opportunity, erica. What do you have to tell to the mom, mother of a couple kids? She kids, she's in her thirties, forties, maybe late forties. She's like I've lived my best life, it's done. The weight keeps on stacking, compounding. She feels defeated and she says it is what it is. What words of advice do you have to tell that person?

Speaker 4:

Well, first I would recommend Tyler's program because that program changed my life and I would try to understand where she's coming from and listen to what she's saying and say you know, I understand what you're saying and give her an example from another mom. If you know like I always tell example from another mom, if you know, like I always tell people, mom like me can do it. I feel that anyone can do, as long as you set your mind to it, no matter what your busy schedule is, because you know having like three kids with three different disabilities, it you know you can do anything. Set your mind to, no matter what your situation can be, is what I really feel that's it.

Speaker 4:

And and just I just say you know, take the leap and just take the chance and just believe in yourself and keep keep going. Just start somewhere, cause if you don't start, you're not going to start, you're going to push it off and further and further, and just start.

Speaker 2:

Okay, guzo. And and you, from the person that packed, packed it up, pack it in, moved from the midwest. The dreamer, the person that had the courage to believe in himself over and over again. What words of wisdom do you have to tell that person? That they have so many goals, they have so many dreams, but they're just fearful. How about if I move into a major city with millions of people and nobody will ever hire me? How about if nobody knows me? I'm just so fearful I think I'm just going gonna stay here in my comfort zone. What words of wisdom, what words of advice would you have to tell that person, tyler?

Speaker 3:

stop, stop worrying about what can go wrong and start imagining what can go right, and fast forward to the end of your life 80 year old, old version of yourself looking back at you right now and ask yourself, if the worst case scenario happens with that 80 year old version of you, really care, will it really matter? And if the best case scenario happens, what would that 80 year old version of yourself say to you? And if you're overweight, you need help with your health and fitness. Stay tuned for Erica, because in 2025, she's going to rock the airwaves's going to be the next incoming guzzo fitness coach. If you want training from her, you need to make sure you reach out, follow me. Follow erica, because she's going to rock the fitness world, uh, and it's going to be amazing.

Speaker 2:

So that's what I was excited for that and erica, since your intro had a Bible verse, here's one that all of us usually live through if we are believers Philippians 4.13. I can do all things through Christ and if Jesus Christ, I know there'd be no Christmas without the Easter Because of his resurrection. He's all given us that opportunity and he gave each and every one of us free will and a life to live on our terms, to do the best version, to be the best version, to create the life that we were always meant to live. I watch your videos. I see it. They're great. They're getting better. You're becoming confident. Before you look like the swimmer on the deep end of the pool or out in the ocean. In those first videos yeah, you did look like the kid with the floaties in a two-foot pool.

Speaker 2:

But congratulations, you had the courage to start. You had the courage to believe in yourself and you know, keep on going, keep on being that inspiration, and whatever it is, whether you want to be on Oprah's couch or on a billboard, or you want to be the CFO or the CMO of Guzzo Fitness, go for it, all right. I love you guys. Only you guys can have me do an episode on before Thanksgiving, but I love you both.

Speaker 1:

Thank you can make the choice to never listen to that negative voice no more. The hardest prison to escape is our own mind. I was trapped inside that prison all for a long time. To make it happen, you gotta take action. Just imagine what if it did work.
