Colleen Carey is our guest for the second episode of Season 2 as we talk about her decades of experience working in sports administration and her journey with KidSport in Alberta.
Carey grew up involved in a variety of activities & sports including figure skating, softball, skiing and volleyball, before eventually graduating from the University of Alberta. Carey is currently leading KidSport Vulcan County chapter. Since 1999, KidSport Vulcan County has funded over 400 kids into a season of sport, distributing over $80,000 back into the local sport community through grants.
Colleen shares unmatched perspective on what your "average" sport family might be dealing with. She also talks about her involvement with KidSport from the very beginning in 1994-95 and how the organization has gone through an incredible transformation over the last 30 years.
