Dr. Ansel Augustine discusses the significance of Black Catholic History Month, his personal journey within the church, and the challenges faced by Black Catholics in America. Dr. Augustine is the Assistant Director of the Secretariat of Cultural Diversity in the Church at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. In this capacity, he staffs the Bishops’ Subcommitee on African American Affairs and assists the Secretariat’s efforts to promote intercultural competence in ministry
