Mrs. Edwards is a businesswoman and former journalist that was elected to the Madison County Commission in 2020. Upon her election, Edwards made history as the first Black woman to serve on the commission - shattering a ceiling that held for 212 years. She is the architect of resolutions that have impacted Madison County's diversity in recruitment, redistricting, and veterans' support. This year she announced a $65K initiative to fight homelessness and launched a $1.2M project to add sidewalks and upgrade handicap-accessible ramps in her district.
