This Brown Girl's Guide to Succeeding in Graduate School

Season 2, Episode 11: A conversation with Vero Orozco: what it means to succeed in a system not designed for you

Krti Tallam | TBG3 Season 2 Episode 1

It is our HONOR to bring to our audiences the first episode of Season II of TBG3.  In this opening episode, we chat with creative Vero d. Orozco, an artist with a BFA from  the San Francisco Art Institute and a Masters from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as 10+ years of working in the non-profit sector. In this discussion, we dive into Vero's journey in graduate school, access points for under-celebrated scholars,  the meaning of being a scholar in a place not designed with you in mind to begin with, human-centered design, and what it means to center voices - and whose voices to center in a thesis.

It was a JOY to have this conversation and we know you will get a lot out of this episode.

Following this episode, there will be a short episode all about Vero's work and art!
