Life Updates and TV Show Recommendations
Speaker 1Announcing the After hours . After hours Hello and welcome to After Hours . Hello , hello , we made it , we're here , finally back , oh man . And we had to reschedule because I was super sick last week .
Speaker 2Yeah , yeah , it's going around . Everybody's got it right now .
Speaker 1Dude , I have not been that sick , I don't think , since college it was . It was rough .
Speaker 2Yeah , yeah , it'll do it to you yeah .
Speaker 1I'm just , I'm just kind of getting back to like half capacity , so we'll see how well I can do putting words together tonight . Yeah .
Speaker 2Well , I'm insanely exhausted so this might be a short episode . We're both , we're both at like half capacity . It's going to be , it's going to be rough .
Speaker 1Well then , let's talk about though , yeah , okay , well , let's jump in and red , yellow , green , I am yellow .
Speaker 2All right , I am , it's been , it's been , it's been a rough few weeks , but it's definitely and it's starting to catch up with me . It's finally starting to get a little better . But I , I , we found out last week that our rent was going up here way too much , and we were already pretty much at max , and so it was just not enough to make sense , and so we're moving to the other side of town , closer to you though , only be five minutes from you Awesome , that's kind of nice . And so at first it was we could not find a place , and it was the most aggravating thing . Also , our lease ends on the day of the in town party for our wedding , so it'll be the wedding week that we would have to move like between the ceremony and the party here .
Speaker 2And so , yeah , it's been really frustrating because we're at this point , like in the middle of planning that and all that stuff and I'm trying to get stuff together for , you know , trying to throw the a few last minute events to try to raise money the last , you know , the last stretch here of funds for my for new music to go in the studio , while also trying to schedule that and go into the studio , which I think is going to happen in November at this point , cause I wanted it to be September but he ended up being booked and so October is obviously taken up , so it'll be November now .
Speaker 2But , yeah , and I just don't have enough money and so we're trying to . We tried to find a place that was cheaper and also , at the same time , now I'm doing things like at night , when I don't have gigs , I'm driving like Uber , lift and stuff and just trying to make whatever extra money I can and um , and then , on top of that , I broke my tooth today . Oh , so I don't know how it doesn't hurt . It might be sensitive , but I was chewing a soft sandwich and the tooth literally a quarter of it just broke off .
Speaker 1Oh my .
Speaker 2God , oh , of course it did . And then , on top of that , one of the people that was going on Madison's a bachelorette trip that they've already paid for and already planned to go , and also who did her makeup for her ? They did a bridal shower or something on Sunday and she was like doing her makeup and was in her face and then literally the next day , tested positive for COVID . So it was like now she's like deathly ill and going through it . And so Madison's like if I fucking get COVID and I'm not able to go on this trip , I'm going to lose my mind . So she's stressing about that right now . So yeah , just a lot , a lot going on . It's been exhausting and I just I have not stopped , like today . I have been going since this morning , working all day , and the moment I kid you not the moment I saw that all my orders had been put in and everything was on the truck , I immediately turned on lift and just kept driving . So I've just been until literally like 20 minutes ago .
Speaker 1Wow .
Speaker 2So here we are . Yeah , here we are . Yeah , it is rough . I am happy to tell anybody who is watching or listening that I did finally , at the behest of Josiah and everybody else that has messaged me or reached out , watched , binge watched , mr Robot in the last couple of weeks and , yeah , definitely top favorite shows of all time . Like it is ridiculous , it's so good . I knew you would love it . I knew one episode in that I was like , damn it , josiah is right , I already . I was I .
Speaker 2But what's great about it is you think it's one kind of show and then it's a different kind of show pretty quickly and then it just keeps evolving until you get to the end You're like , oh , there was the missing piece that we were waiting on this entire time .
Speaker 2I told you Robins has told you hey Robin , it really is like an Enneagram five show , like he is a quintessential five living his entire world in his head and it's just , it's so good , it's , it was so much better than I thought it would be . Also , the reason why I put it off for so long is cause I just don't like . I don't like things made for TV , usually like USA TNT like , and I just assumed that that's kind of what it was going to be , because it was made for you from USA . So I was like , oh , I don't know how the hell they ever showed that on TV . Like I don't know how it's possible , cause there's definitely like profanity and gore and all kinds of stuff that was like , okay , this is pretty dark , I'm into this , so yeah , it was a nice surprise I liked it .
Speaker 2Now I'm sad it's over . I just want to . I've been like begging Madison to help to start it over with me . I just want to start it over and watch it again . Now , knowing the end , I just want to put it all together . You know it made the all . The whole show makes more sense . So now I want to go back and , knowing the missing piece from the end , watch it all over again .
Speaker 1So yeah , that's where I'm at on that . Yeah , I think I watched the first two seasons , um , like shortly after the second season came out , so it was a long time ago , and then I never picked it back up . And then , um , I started it again and I think I got through like the first couple episodes and then Amy wanted to be included , so I brought it back and we started it over and I was really surprised that she liked it Um and uh , but she loved it Like , so we then we watched it the whole way through and it was really good . That's awesome . I love that , yeah .
Speaker 2These days it's so nice having a good show that just kind of like makes you forget about everything else for a while . Sadly , that show is not quite that , because it definitely reminds you of society and all the terrible things of it .
Speaker 1But uh , it's a little . Uh , it's a little too on the nose at points , given that it came out in like 2015 and everything that's happened since then .
Speaker 2It's true , yeah , yeah .
Speaker 1Well , I'm glad you watched it , dude yeah .
Speaker 2Yeah , I'm happy that it's it's over and also , like that , we found a place to live . Everything has gotten a little bit better . Um , in turn , bringing it back around , um , everything's gotten a little bit better , a little bit more settled , I guess . So we and also like we figured out like the place that we were going . I was really mad about it at first because it was it's from a developer that's in town that I hate and I swore I would never live in one of his properties again , but , um , it actually it's got more space . It's like $500 cheaper .
Speaker 2Um , it's on , they're going to give us a ground floor apartment because we have two dogs , so it's concrete floors , which is really nice , um , and it's way more space . Like I mean way more space . It's wild . Um , way more storage , everything like that . And uh , also , they gave us a corner , bottom lot or corner that's also facing like the woods and stuff .
Speaker 2So there's no added light from the city or anything . There's going to be no sound I won't have to worry about for recording or podcast or whatever . Like it'll be dead silent . Probably , um , we can let the dogs out the door to go use the restroom . Like you don't realize how much of a luxury . That is until you can't do it and you have to go down three flights of stairs every time they need to go .
Speaker 2Um , and so and I say that because , yes , we do have an elevator , but it never works , so we're always going downstairs . And so that'll be insanely nice and like , literally , just let them out the door , put , keep their shot colors on . We don't have to put leashes on them because it's facing the woods , so like , no one will be back there . It'll be so great , um , but , yeah , really excited about that and uh , how quiet it'll be . That'll be really nice for recording things . But , um , so yeah , I think it's going to work out better in the long run . And , um , but uh , yeah , and so we did that and found , after four people turning me down for marrying us , I finally talked you into it .
Speaker 2I mean you basically forced me into it , but yeah , I know what's funny is , I said as my best friend and I meant to say best man , like , because you were like I want to be the best man , I don't want to have to uh , you know , officiate . And I was like this is going to be your one best man duty that I'm going to ask of you , as you have to do this because literally no one . I tried to get my brother he's leaving the country . I tried to get my other friend , toby he left the country . And then I tried to ask somebody else , because I asked you first and you turned me down . I was like , no , I don't want to do that . So I tried to ask everybody else and they all turned me down and said , no , they didn't want to do it .
Speaker 1So I'm like but I thought they'd already agreed to do it . That's what I don't understand .
Speaker 2Isn't that funny . Um , my brother did agree to do it and then um just decided that he didn't want to add or he didn't really tell me that either , which was kind of funny he just like assumed that his backup would take care of it and just didn't really say anything . So I just found out , like through the grapevine , through my parents who talked to him and he's like yeah , I'm not going to make it . And they're like does Cody know that ? And he was like oh , he said that you know , Toby , do it , it's fine . I'm like I did not say that , I didn't even know . This conversation happened , Um , but it's fine . And then Toby , um , he got a job over there and once he landed in Ireland , he moved to Ireland and then got a job , and then the job wouldn't let him come back during a bummer . So that's why , cause he was going to come back for his dad's birthday that week too , and it was just like a whole thing he was just going to come and do a whole thing and then , yeah , so he was .
Speaker 2He was actually really upset , he couldn't come back , but it's just part of the part of the deal , that's what he got himself into , I guess .
Speaker 1So here we are , but it's left , you wouldn't have your job now .
Speaker 2Oh yeah , and I , he was going to leave either way . It's just I thought he would find a job that would be a little more linear , but he stayed in the alcohol industry and say you can't , you can't get off on October , november , december . The only reason I'm getting off is because it's my wedding that I planned before I had the job , otherwise they would not let me off . So , yeah , it's a whole thing , but uh , but yeah . So now that I'm certainly like things are starting to kind of get sorted out , it's been , it's been a little bit of a mess and a little bit better for sure , um , and like just random things that just have made things a whole lot easier .
Speaker 2Like you know , we were like I don't have any idea how I'm going to afford to move , like we don't have like just random extra money right now as we're trying to pay for all these other things . And then , randomly , I was talking to my parents about life insurance and they were like we have a life insurance policy on you and I was like why ? Like , oh , we got it Like when you were like a teenager , when you started driving , and I'm like I don't need it though , like I don't need that life insurance policy . I have my own and it's going to cover anything that ever will happen . And so they were like , oh , okay , well , we might be able to get money out of it , and like we'll close it . And so turns out it's like a little chunk of money that's going to help me pay off some debts and so , like that made my life a whole lot easier . Nice , yeah , they decided to just give it all to me , so it was
Discussion About Lighting, Moving, and Health
Speaker 2great . I like the cool lighting .
Speaker 1Ike to I might be completely messing that up . Um yeah , cody . Cody's a live streamer , so he has a fan setup .
Speaker 2I am a live streamer incoming . Just my whole name , cody James Harris . Find me on YouTube or Twitch or wherever . Um , but thanks for that . I appreciate that . I , uh , I do have fancy lighting right now . This one isn't like a , it's like a automatic , automatic mode , because I it won't . It won't connect to my phone for some reason , so it's just changing colors , back there doing its own thing . But yeah , it's all about to change about the have to tear it all down . Oh man , how do I in my closet I wish that you could see , uh , I wish all of you could see what amazing I mean it's amazing how that closet I'm so proud of it . It's so organized . I have everything together . It's so great . In the moment that I organize it , we get kicked out . So I'm gonna tear all of this room apart when I finally got it the way I wanted it .
Speaker 1But yeah , eikta , eikta , I think .
Speaker 2I got that .
Speaker 1Yeah , eikta , cool , welcome , yeah , welcome . Um , yeah , I will say I am a little jealous of your closet .
Speaker 2I don't have a space like that where I can . I'm not going to anymore , yeah .
Speaker 2But you have more space . No , but not that it's like spread out , like there's closets that are deeper than you would think they should be , but they're not . That like this is deep , like I could put a whole , like my entire cart of equipment in there if I wanted to . You can walk all the way in and have all my cords on the walls , like all of that's gonna have to be . I'm gonna have to get more creative about it .
Speaker 2Also , we have four bikes now . We have two electric bikes and two regular bikes , and I don't think they have a bike room in this other place , so I have no idea where those are gonna go . So there's like there's definitely some things to work out . You know I'm gonna have to like , but luckily we're moving early . That's one of the reasons why it was going to be hard to like afford it . We're going to have to pay two rents one time because we're going to have to move in um in the end of September , and so it's it's good for after we go to Charleston before the weekend before , okay , so if you want to help , no , not Charles Savannah .
Speaker 1We moved to Atlanta .
Speaker 2Yeah , savannah , yeah , and so yeah , anyway , but that's , that's my life , kind of hectic and crazy right now , for sure . But yeah , how about you ? Let's , let's move on to you Red , yellow , green , uh .
Speaker 1I mean , I think I'm yellow and it's mostly just because I'm still trying to recover Like dude . It was the problem . Actually , I have not been really like sick with like a cold or flu since June 2021 . Um , I started learning more about my immune system and how to build it up and I used to get like anytime Amy and the kids would get sick , I would get sick and it usually happened like every other month , um , and then I started to get sick .
Speaker 1Then I started making some changes and went on a whole like supplement regime and um regimen and uh regime regime . I told you I'm not quite there and and that stopped happening . So , like , even when Amy and the kids got sick , I wouldn't get sick , um , and like I , at most I might just like have a little scratchy throat and be tired for a day or something like that , but , um , so I was really proud of like how I built up my immune system , but I got really I mean , we've talked about this like I got really depressed , um , back in the spring and I stopped doing all of that and then um , I don't know if we've talked about that here , but it is an episode coming out and it is an episode coming up in the season ?
Speaker 2Yeah , Um , so you guys don't hear about it yet , but we have talked about it in depth yeah , yeah and uh
COVID-19 Outbreak and Personal Experience
Speaker 2.
Speaker 1I I spent the week before last in Nashville for work and like staying up late and drinking and eating a bunch of delicious but like rich food and it's basically just like tanking my immune system . And while I was gone , amy and the kids got sick . And so when I came , back .
Speaker 2They got it . Yeah , they all got it first , oh .
Speaker 1I figured you probably got it in Nashville , no , so what happened was we had their triple brother birthday bash right before I left and the kids got it , got sick from that , and a couple of their friends did as well , and then , um , and so I like worked its way through each one of them until like by the end of the week , then Amy got sick , and so when I came home , Amy was just kind of like hitting the peak of her being sick , or just kind of coming over that .
Speaker 1And because I had , you know , just destroyed my immune system the week before , I was not prepared for that and I I got it hard , Like .
Speaker 1So Monday morning I woke up and I'm like , oh , I think I might be getting sick , and by the afternoon I could not hold myself up and I , oh man , it was so bad and it was one of those where it was like the cold part of it , like that didn't really get me , it didn't get that bad , but the first night was so brutal I it like it was almost like it was attacking my nervous system and the bones in my lower back . Um was just aching and my neck was just aching and I so I could not get comfortable and I would like toss , I would like you know turn from one side to the other all night and I would like you know turn to one side and sleep for an hour and then turn to the other side and sleep for an hour . Right , and then I got at one point . I got up and I checked the time , thinking it was like , you know , almost six am and it was like 1230 . And I was like no , no , yeah I felt like I was in purgatory man .
Speaker 1It was so bad and that was it . I mean , I was like I was in bed for three or four days straight before I could even like hold myself Up . I couldn't eat anything . I couldn't keep anything down . I couldn't take pain medicine because I couldn't take it on an empty stomach because it would make me sick , but I couldn't eat anything . Oh , it was brutal , and so by that , you know , by that point of not eating anything for like three days , I was . I was just so weak and I'm still still trying to recover from it . Like so today's Tuesday , on Sunday , I took a shower and afterwards I was trying to dry my hair and just holding my arms above my head for a couple of minutes . I had to sit down for 20 minutes after I was out of breath . That's how bad it was . Did you ever figure out what you had ? No , I never went to the doctor or anything .
Speaker 2Well , definitely sounds like COVID , the nervous nervous system . I know it's going around right now . Everybody I know has it . Right now . There's like five people that I know that have it . All the teachers and kids in schools and stuff have it really bad . I guess it's that new strain or whatever the super contagious , but that's the . I mean , that's
Discussion About Health, Kids, and Moving
Speaker 2the thing .
Speaker 2When I had it both times , the thing that like set it apart the second time I didn't even think I had it and we were just like maybe we should test it just to see . You know , we had a bunch of those leftover tests or whatever from before Test it and sure enough , we were positive and I was like well , shit , I did not even think that I had it and so I was like two days in . But the thing that set it apart for me from like other Colds or or fluja , whatever , was the nervous system thing . Like you cannot get people and my entire body hurt so bad and so I yeah , that's that's the thing that I've never had anything like that before and like I , for like two or three Days , you just can't get comfortable . It's the worst thing ever and you also get really weak and tired for sure .
Speaker 1So , yeah , I'd have been your first man , yeah .
Speaker 2I've been your first time you got it . The person that , our friend Kinsey , who , as it , who's a teacher , she it's her first time ever having it and , like I'm with the , she works in schools I was like , wow , that's amazing Count in the world , have you made it this long With kids ? Because kids are the , the ultimate passers of all things . Sickness , you know , they're just like little sponges up for it . Oh , I know .
Speaker 1Yeah , as you know .
Speaker 2I mean one you did . We all went to the jump park . You know , of course there's like hundreds of kids , yeah , one room . So I think about that . The last two years you've been , we've done it there and we've all been there . I think about jumping around on that . I'm like I need to wash my hands , take a shower .
Speaker 1Yeah , I don't think we're gonna be doing that next year , mainly just because , like last year , they were really it was owned by a different company and they were really great about like they came and have set everything up and they were very accommodating . Yeah , the girl who was assigned to our room , just like she's like a cartoon character man .
Speaker 2Do you know which one cuz she looks exact ? She was exactly a cartoon character . I made him a comment to Madison and she lost it when I told her what's her face from the Incredibles , yes , Ivy no what's her name ? I know you're talking about the sister , the sister . It's her even had the hair across Totally Like solid black , like I was just like , wow , she is that character .
Speaker 1She did nothing , she's like nothing .
Speaker 2You just stood there .
Speaker 1Yeah , so yeah .
Speaker 2I mean the kids .
Speaker 1The kids had a good time , but I think that , like next year , will probably just like it would be cheaper to rent a big bouncy castle thing and put it In our backyard . Great , it's always in the summertime , so it'll be hot , but the kids will have a lot of fun and we can do it's in like June , though , right . Well , we so . There's a birthday in May and June and July . Violet doing it by a lot there we go .
Speaker 2Thank you , robin , appreciate that it's violet .
Speaker 1Yeah , the way we've been doing is we've been waiting for the last birthday to happen , which is July , and then we schedule the , the triple brother birthday bash . Which one is the last ? One Are the youngest .
Speaker 2Yeah , yeah , oh well , then you should just do it in earlier in the summer . He's not gonna know the difference .
Speaker 1Yeah , but I mean like the difference between June and July is not , it's still both very hot .
Speaker 2Yeah , I like way harder , though At least it has been lately .
Speaker 2Well we can , we can try , we'll figure it out I might even be living here next by that time next year , so yeah , Watch me live closer to you finally for once , like really close , and then you're gonna move . I Consistently look on your street all the time for houses , though , like I've when them , whatever the market finally does like crash and it's a bet . It's more of a buyer's market . I'm like that on that area . Your an is not a bad area and it's and there's some nice houses through that that's okay , he sent houses . You know well , made older houses .
Speaker 1Yeah , and it's like the perfect neighborhood for kids and raising a family and stuff , and so that's the hard part is like we love the neighborhood , we don't want to leave the neighborhood , but we're renting this house . Yeah , cuz I didn't even have a job , that's right . Wow , I was interviewing with my current company at the time and Maybe luck out and like what if ?
Speaker 2what if the guy wanted to sell it , would you think about it ?
Speaker 1I , I have . I texted him and told him that hey , if he ever wanted to sell it , we might be interested . But I , he has , he got it like such a good deal on this , he's so much money yeah , he has it . He has several rental properties that he's bought . He's an awesome landlord , like we totally lucked out , and he's like just a really genuinely good guy and so you know , that part has been great . It's just the house itself is Like we've already outgrown it , like we're ready for something . That's it's cuz . It's like a mid-century bungalow type or cottage type .
Speaker 2Yeah , it would be like some bigger , like some of the rooms being bigger and more space , especially like the main living room area better storage .
Speaker 1Yeah , like in the kids playroom is upstairs but the stairs are treacherous .
Speaker 2Great for them , but hard for any adult to get up there . It's so skinny to you .
Speaker 1Well , our youngest , though , like just a few months ago , fell from the top and Amy caught him right before his head Smacked into the corner like it would have just destroyed his face . Wow , yeah . So you're still like yeah , there's little things like that for a look . I you know it would be nice to have something Newer and and just to own our own , our own space , but
Trips, Season Finish, Kids' Enneagram Types
Speaker 1you .
Speaker 1Yeah , so that's , that's what's up with me . I've just I've got so much , so many trips coming up , like highway went to Fort Lauderdale , went to Nashville , we're going to Orange Beach next week For vacation and then I'm back for a week and then I leave for Montreal for a week and then I'm back for like a week and a half and then we go to Savannah and then I come back from Savannah and I'm here for like a week and then I fly to Palm Springs and I'm there for a week and then I go directly from Palm Springs down to Florida , where you're getting married , to do that and then we come , and then I come back home and then the following weekend is my birthday , slash the , your wedding celebration , because you skipped it that on my birthday . I don't know if you realize that I didn't mean to , I was just how it worked . So it's like the month of august , especially because I spent like last all last week sick . Like the month of august . It's just gone , it's just a watch like yeah , yeah , got no work done .
Speaker 2And somewhere in those like two weeks that you're not traveling , we have to finish the season .
Speaker 1Yeah , exactly .
Speaker 2But we made some good progress . Honestly , we've got like half the almost half the season done . But yeah , we need to , we need to get the rest done Well the rest is like we've got .
Speaker 1It includes other people , so we've got a schedule . That's true , um , and I don't know if you saw that . Well , I don't , never mind , I'll tell you off why , because I don't know if it's public knowledge yet .
Speaker 1But , um , so Eicta says have you figured out your kids in eagram types , if they're old enough to get an idea ? Um , my kids are really small . Uh , they're still like three , five and seven . But If I had to guess , I would say our oldest very much seems like a five . He seems very much like a five wing four to me . Yes , personally for sure . Um , yeah , so I like it's , it's like dude . Yeah , I like all of all . It's like I've imprinted onto this kid for better or worse . Um , and so , yeah , I would . I would guess that the other two , I don't know , it's still early to tell I , I have suspicions on the middle .
Speaker 2I'm five , you're old , you can do .
Speaker 1Yeah , you could maybe start making some guesses , at least Maybe yeah , I , I could , I could see him being like , uh , um , like maybe a nine or uh , I was thinking nine .
Speaker 1Yeah , or like a Happy four I could see that too . Um , he's very , he's very creative and , uh , very Emotionally intelligent . So he takes after Amy in a lot of ways , yeah , and uh , definitely more of a pacifist . Pacifist , um , so yeah , I don't know . We'll , we'll see . It's so hard to say because , like you know , they're still forming themselves at this age , so it's hard . Yeah but the , the , the youngest one is just right now . He's in full on Greenager stage . Um where he's . Have you heard that phrase before ? It's like greenager .
Speaker 2No , like it's like greenager .
Speaker 1The teenager , the . They hit a teenager phase at three years old , yeah , and where it's just like you know , you're not going to tell me what to do , and um , and he has acting all the boundaries but it's , it's like , it's like he does , he , does he .
Speaker 1He's so smart that because he's the youngest , so he knows how to push people's buttons yeah , it's so , he's just like . He knows how to just like really get under your skin . Sometimes he does it with a smirk and you're just like , oh Like , part of me is really mad and part of me is really impressed , you know .
Speaker 2Which makes you more mad Outwitted by a three-year-old .
Speaker 1Oh and , but he , you know , it's like I want this thing and I don't care how rational it is , and I'm going to scream until I get it , and if you don't give it to me , I'm just going to go scorched earth on this place and destroy everything meaningful to you . Oh my gosh , that's what he does , man .
Family Vacation and Wedding Planning
Speaker 1It's like the kids that you know his brother set up . They got the mousetrap game from my sister for their birthday and so they went through this whole thing of like setting up mousetrap and he got mad . And he's like the first thing that he did was go and just like Start swinging at it and destroying . You know this like intricately put together thing , yeah , yeah , anytime they're working on like you know , legos or puzzles , and he gets mad . It's like the first thing he does is try to destroy whatever they most recently put effort into . Dude that is . Yeah , that is some tyrannical shit right there .
Speaker 1But they all went through that phase .
Speaker 2It's like it's just uh , he just has so much Um ammunition because he has two older brothers that care deeply about whatever . They're old enough to care deeply about what they do , right ? So he's got all the stuff he can destroy and make everybody mad and just like hit , let the dominoes fall where they may , you know , just watch it happen . I think I just mixed let the chips fall where they may and then watch the dominoes fall . That's what I was trying to say . Um , it works .
Speaker 2Yeah just what happens . Basically knock shit over and see what happens . Yeah , that's some straight-up , like joker just likes to watch the world burn , kind of .
Speaker 1If I can't be happy , no one can you know how to reason with that .
Speaker 2You know how are you curious ? The reason is just fully enjoying watching everything get destroyed , you know , and make everybody mad for just for the fun of it , just yeah .
Speaker 1Uh , so that'll be . That'll be , for my sister is going down to Orchbeach with us next week . Um , I'm gonna help . My older sister yeah um , that's fun going to help . Yeah , we this was another thing like we had a . Her husband's brother has a house down there and so they said that we could rent it for 500 bucks for the week .
Speaker 1It's insane and it's like two miles from the beach and probably just covers like cleaning costs or something right , cleaning and utilities , basically yeah , um , and then Uh , and then they told us a couple days ago that never mind and like the word before we're supposed to be leaving .
Speaker 2Oh , no , why .
Speaker 1Because they um , they decided last minute to sell it and they're they're a real estate agent , so they had to get it ready by , uh , by labor day , which is like next weekend , and uh , and so they they're like we're so sorry , um , like you can still stay , but we're gonna , like we gotta tear up the floor and like fix all this stuff and stage everything that's not having but , ended up being , uh , working out even better because , um , uh , my brother-in-law's aunt owns a condo down there as well , and , uh , it's right on the beach and so it's and it's still like three bedroom , three bath , um , and so it's not a , it's not a house , but it's , it's , it's still , uh like I would much rather be on the beach anyway .
Speaker 2Oh for sure . Yeah , it's so much easier .
Speaker 1Yeah , I trans we just literally just like walk out . We're on the second floor , so we just like go down the stairs , walk out and we're at the pool , and then there's a gate on the other side of the pool and you're on the beach . Um , and so yeah , it's gonna be , it's gonna be super nice , very much looking forward to it .
Speaker 2Um , last year I stayed . I've I've always , I've always stayed um , like in places . I've been spoiled in the sense that , like my parents have always loved going to um St George Island in Florida and felt my every summer growing up that's where we go , and back when I was a kid there was nobody on on the island . Really , it was like no , they don't allow Buildings , high rises and stuff like that . It's like very , very small . And so they just now built one of , like a few years ago , built one of those . My mom calls it a beach atorium . You know , like you know , I'm talking about like the big building with like all the cheap shit in there . That's the st George Island on it , and so they have one of those now .
Speaker 2But before that , I mean , there was nothing . There's all local businesses , all local things . It's just on the island and like they . And so we'd always stay like right on the beach and walk out and we had the whole beach ourselves . Nobody , you couldn't see anybody for miles . So it's so crazy . You can find studies , shells and sand , dollars and stuff . You know , you go out . There's no lights because it's also a protected beach so you can't have lights at all . There's no light pollution because there's a lot of sea turtles there and also Just like all the other wildlife . So you'd walk out and the entire beach would be moving . If you shine flashlights because of all the crabs , well , you know , you like couldn't walk anywhere without crabs on her run over your feet , which I did not like when I was a kid , but so I've been kind of spoiled in that way .
Speaker 2But I will say , having said that , I last year went to Daytona with Madison and her family and then and I married them on the beach actually and and they we stayed in this old old place . I can't remember what it's called , but it's like it was an old Just beach hotel right on the beach , at a pool or whatever , and it was like angled , the buildings angled , and we stayed way up high on like the 10th floor or something . But I always thought that I would hate that experience . But now that I'm older it's like really nice , because they had it like a gigantic pool and there was a whole .
Speaker 2They had a like a tiki bar beside the pool and I Was drunk the whole time , just kept drinking tiki drinks . They were all six dollars , everything was six dollars . Nice . So I , just we , just me and Madison just kept drinking all day and we just sit in the pool and I it was just , it was so good and you go down to the beach when you want to . But I mean , daytona is kind of crazy people driving on it and everything , so it's like it's a whole thing .
Speaker 2But yeah , and so it's , it's , but I really liked it . Honestly , it's kind of nice having everything there , you know , and you have a really good , good view . That's what I was gonna say being on second floor interview of the beach . Yeah , yeah .
Speaker 1Yeah , sullivan says what part of Florida y'all gonna be in , the part of .
Speaker 2Florida . Are we gonna be ? I think you think they're talking about you know good , well , I'm going to Orange Beach .
Speaker 1That's in Alabama . Oh , that's right on the edge . But we're I said we're going to Florida for your wedding .
Speaker 2Right , it's on St George Island . So so we are going to St George Island , yeah , because my parents live in Appalachia , colo , which is when you don't know what that is . It sounds really funny because people give me really funny looks like where the hell is that ? And it is as small as you think it's going to be from the name , but it is a really cool town actually and and I've always really loved it there , and so I'm really happy that my parents , after taking us there their entire life , kind of fulfilled their dream and moved there and so , yeah , so we're going there because we'll have a place to keep everything and all that we need to talk about if we want to have a house together , all of us to make it cheaper . Otherwise it's gonna be fairly expensive for everybody . I've been trying to get everybody together on it , but nobody will respond .
Speaker 2So , yeah , I'm throwing that out there , I'm just putting that on your radar right now on live , um . But but yeah , it's , it'll be fun , it'll be a really great time and and I'm happy that we're doing like a Kind of a small ceremony with just family and and the friends that matter in my life the most , and yeah , so it'll be a fun time because then we can just hang out to before and after and have a look , a little mini vacation together and yeah , it'll be , it'll be a fun celebration . And then we're gonna come back and do something in Chattanooga with everybody that I didn't let come . Yeah , so it'll be fun time . Crazy week about fun time . But yeah , so you'll get to see same Jordan , because you've never been there , right ? No , I've never been there . Yeah , it's like five miles off the coast . There's a long bridge that goes out there .
Speaker 1I have to take the red eye from Palm Springs , California .
Speaker 2Yeah , that is gonna be the wildest shit ever .
Speaker 1Shit , I remember , I think so .
Speaker 1Yeah cuz I think I have like I can't remember I got the whole trip got all like weird In terms of booking stuff , but I I booked the red eye because it was the only like way to actually get in on time and and . But the cool thing is , for whatever reason I it only cost a hundred dollars to upgrade to first class . So that's what I did , so that I could actually get some sleep on the plane on the way over . So , yeah , that's gonna be it . That's gonna be a crazy drum be so wiped out after that .
Speaker 2You will , especially because you're losing three hours too . So you'll be there just long enough to like kind of get used to it , and then you're gonna lose three hours coming back and you'll be super tired the first night .
Speaker 1Well , I mean , since I'm , since I'm sleeping on the plane , maybe it'll be okay .
Speaker 2You're gonna be here , it'll be .
Speaker 1it'll be eight o'clock and you're gonna be like God , it's like my body's gonna like not know what to do with it .
Speaker 2So yeah , it'd be fun . Though you can . You can yolo it .
Speaker 1Alright , well , I need to go get some dinner because I'm really hungry .
Speaker 2Yeah , I've got dinner in here . I'm gonna try to eat it . We'll see how it goes with this broken teeth . I have blow boy Well everybody .
Speaker 1Thanks for coming hanging out . Yeah , I appreciate it . Like we said , we've got . We've got half of the season recorded .
Speaker 2And pretty much edited . Yeah , so we actually are at the place where we kind of start needing to get responses for those episodes . So look out for that .
Speaker 1Yeah , so after I get back from vacation We'll double down on all that and get that thing out the door , and so maybe we're maybe sometime in September . At the very latest it'll be like end of October .
Speaker 2Yeah , it's sometime in that eight weeks fan .
Speaker 1All right , thanks everybody .
Speaker 2See you guys . Have a good night .
