Bullying as defined from *Oxford Languages and Google is to seek harm, intimidate, or coerce (someone perceived as vulnerable). American Psychological Association found on Google shares that
✔️Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior in which someone intentionally and repeatedly cause another person injury or discomfort.
✔️Bullying can take the form of physical contact, words, or more subtle actions. This topic comes up very often after painful situations, events or tragic consequences of this behavior make the news.
✔️Too often it is hidden, unreported or unrecognized. Our guest has grown tremendously as a person and a woman in her quest to live a full life with no apologies for who she is and how she feels when she now speaks up for herself.
. As you listen to this candid interview (where I am not talking too much in response to how I relate to her story) we hope you are encouraged and made aware of how we can change the narrative when we get help, speak up and take a stand. When we did the interview part 1 while in Dallas, Texas,
✔️ I noticed how relieved and free our guest felt after sharing her story. She was lighter and happier and saying that felt good to share.
✔️The power of transparency and speaking up does help us heal and become aware that you are not alone. If strange behavior or unacceptable communications seem to overtake your input, then it must be looked at seriously or stopped. It is ok to say no!
✔️ Please don't mix this up with how strong leaders lead and stretch their teams. This is more sinister and ill willed. Our wish for sharing CONVERSATIONS - LET's TALK is to shed light on darkness.
✔️Children and adults experience BULLYING. I have found that it is amazing how when we TELL- Share or seek help how the LIGHT of HOPE and HELP shines so bright that the Bully changes the narrative to repaint who they really are or what the truth of the matter is. I personally feel that if for any reason a harmful form of leadership or communication or false friendship is made to feel the norm then those around who watch and say nothing then become part of the problem.
Recently in the news, we see back stories of the trauma of how flowing in an opportunity of a lifetime the Star has been accused of intense, demeaning, threatening intimidation labeled as helping the mentee shine and grow and become their best self. The stories and the tears and the after math of those experiences are now being talked about and the accused is in Shock and trauma almost seems not aware of how long and how often they have gotten away with that behavior to the point that all involved appear as victims. This will take some unraveling. This amplifies the courage to be you and SPEAK UP if you see something say something.
One of my most beloved mentors told me like this...Have a conversation and call it a point of order. Then address the unacceptable or out of line behavior that oversteps the privileges of position.   Leadership Legacies and Legends Unleash Podcast would love to hear from you if you'd like to share your ideas, experience, and victories over the experience of BULLYING.
If you or someone you know is experiencing harm from a perceived Bully and needs help please reach out  or to someone who can make a difference. We are in this world together and the best of us comes out when we see a need and make the effort to do or say something. I must add if one person does not listen or help, don't give up. Keep reaching out and telling your truth.
We hope you enjoy the Conversation! Your host Mary H Fernandez Disclaimer: These are my thoughts and not recommendations or demands that you do what I think. Just do the right thing. I am not a doctor or medical professional of any kind. My heart is in what I do.
