I realize this to be a real hotbed topic and might expect some ugly comments or push back on it. But, I still feel it is needed. I am an evangelical Christian who loves Jesus, believes in the Word and is serious about its study and guidance. But I am also one who through countless hours hermeneutics (the purposeful study and interpretation of God's Word) in the original languages and context, believe that that there is a place at the evangelical table for those who are LGBTQ. I am not asking you to believe it. I am not asking you to accept it. I am not asking you who are not LGBTQ to do anything within this episode. What this episode is is a love message to those who are LGBTQ and love God, want to serve him, but are dealing with deep hurt and trauma as such, often as a direct result of their faith.
If you are a Christian who believes LGBTQ to be impossible for a Christian, I will only say, "I love you," but simply ask you to move on from this episode. Join me next week for another topic.
But for those of you who are LGBTQ, I invite you to listen and hear not only my advise...but also my heart.
