Hey friends, it's Michael B here to wrap up this season with a few quick closing thoughts. I've got some important announcements, so I ask that you please stick with me through the end of this broadcast. Thanks for joining me for season three, which has come to a close. It has been a fantastic season, and I've honestly loved speaking with every single guest who joined me. I wanted to take a few minutes and thank as many folks as I can for their support of the 40 Minutes of Funk podcast. First, thanks to all my Patreon members who've given every month to help make this season a success. Thanks to my funkmaster level supporters, Esther, Jenny, and Doug, as well as my funkastic follower level supporters, Jim, Adam, and Eric. And last but not least, thanks to my Funketeer givers, Roy, Nick, and Jeff. Again, your monthly support has put some much needed fuel in this host and producer's tank, and I so much appreciate your dedication to the podcast and belief in me to carry out another season of the program. As a reminder, March's bill will be the last one for this season, but I have more bonus content in the pipeline for you coming soon, but more on that in a bit. Next, I want to thank every guest who joined me on the show this season. I learned so much about each of you through your stories and your songs, and I'm excited about the numerous new friendships I've made through our fantastic discussions. Please continue to keep in touch and keep me in mind when you have new releases. You know I'll do my part to get your songs on my radio show, Tonic the Funky Groove Show, if they're instrumental, and I'm happy to help however else I can, including with album reviews, liner notes, or other ways to help spread the word. I'm open to ideas, just hit me up. Again, every single interview was meaningful and enjoyable for me, and I hope you enjoyed the talks as much as I did. Speaking of which, thanks to all the record labels, management firms, PR folks, and anyone else who had a hand in helping me make direct connections with and coordinate the schedules for each of the artists who joined me this season. It takes a lot of moving pieces to get everyone lined up, and even some last-minute reschedules. So again, thanks for your help making the interviews a success. And lastly, thanks to you, my listener friends, for showing up, tuning in, listening, sharing episodes and posts with your followers, and providing feedback on the 40 Minutes of Funk social media posts. Reading your reviews, replies, and DMs has been another way of energizing me throughout the season, and I appreciate each and every comment you've made. It took me two years to get back in touch with the 40 Minutes of Funk podcast and carve out the space to reinvigorate it again with a third season. And although I had originally planned to carry out the season until late spring or early summer 2026, I'm so happy with how the season turned out. To that end, there's more in store for 40 Minutes of Funk. I'm not currently at liberty to share everything with you, but I will tell you what I can. A dear friend approached me in early 2026 and asked me to help him start a new musical nonprofit organization in Oklahoma. Without spilling all of the details yet, I can tell you that its primary mission is to bring top-notch musicians to the state to work with local students and put on public performances in our community. When the time is right, I'll share more with you here. But for now, I can tell you that there will be an accompanying interview podcast tied to the organization. And some of those folks I'll be interviewing, they're gonna be funky. And I will be sharing some of those talks as bonus episodes on the 40 Minutes of Funk podcast. So even though season three's weekly schedule and regular lineup has ended, I can promise you that more is in store and on the way. So please continue your subscriptions to the podcast wherever you listen, stay tuned on social media, and stick with me because I can't wait to share with you what's next. And I would be remiss if I didn't take yet another opportunity to remind you about my other funky outlet, my weekly original music program, which features many of the artists who served as guests on the podcast. Each week I produce and host a two-hour instrumental funk groove soul, disco, jazz, and hip-hop radio program for KGO FM in Norman, Oklahoma, which features music from the 1960s to the 2020s and from all over the globe. Currently in its sixth season of production, each episode of Tonic the Funky Groove Show features a ton of deep dives, including some tracks you can only hear on the original vinyl. And I even throw in special themed episodes each season, including holidays like Christmas, Halloween, and Mardi Gras, the latter of which focuses entirely on music from and about New Orleans. I also pick special topics like science fiction, classic rock, folk, and classical music covers, drinks, food, animals, cars, and so much more. Your one-stop shop for information is www.funky grooveshow.com, where you can find links to hear past episodes on the PRX Network, Funky News, Spotify playlists, and more than a dozen radio stations across the US and Canada who also air Tonic the Funky Groove Show each week. I'd love for you to follow the show on Facebook and Instagram at Funky Groove Show, as I'm convinced you'll love the program and want to know what's coming up next. In a world of ever-growing AI influence, it's a completely homegrown, organic show with music hand cultivated by yours truly. And if you already listen regularly and you want to help the show continue to thrive, please consider making a one-time or monthly donation to KGOU Radio to help keep the funk alive and well. You can give online at kgou.org. Just click the red donate button and tell 'em Michael B sent you. And that website for Tonic the Funky Groove Show once again is www.funkygroove show.com. Thanks in advance for listening and supporting this funky original outlet of mine. That about does it for me, friends. I truly cannot thank you enough again for your support of the Forty Minutes of Funk podcast. I'm hopeful for a return for season four eventually, but that particular chapter has yet to be written. You'll have to stay tuned, just like I will, to see what the funk has in store for the future of this podcast. But like I said, there's still a lot of great things coming soon, as bonus content, and I hope you'll stay connected so you can hear that. I can't wait for you to hear that too. If you liked some of the music you heard on the podcast, I'd like to ask once again that you please show your support of these artists by following them on social media, paying to download their music, or even ponying up for physical formats like CDs or vinyl or merchandise. These are uncertain times, friends, and I guarantee you that every dollar you spend on their music or merch will go to good people with a good cause making good music. And thanks in advance for your support of them as well. This is Michael B signing off for season three of the Forty Minutes of Funk Podcast. It's been a fun ride, and I appreciate your companionship as we've celebrated the funk and those who create it or act as vessels for it. I have no doubt we'll do more together in the future. Until then, I remain eternally and gratefully yours in the funk.
