Joe is one incredible human, having fought cancer not once but twice is a true inspiration! 

After a challenging upbringing which saw his father in and out of prison and his mother suffering with mental health.  

Whilst his mother was receiving care. His Aunty took him and his younger brother north, to prevent them from going into care. 

It’s here, where he first discovered his love for football! 

Football is an industry and can be an emotional roller coaster, especially as a young boy, after getting signed by Man Utd then later released at the age of 16. He thought his career was over before it started but Joe’s sheer determination got him through and he never give up even when the big C showed up! 

Joe went through two gruelling chemotherapies whilst still managing to play professional football.  

He also made some lifestyle changes going completely plant-based which he is certain was a contributing factor to his quick recovery. 

As well of course the love from his incredible family. 

This is a truly raw and heartfelt conversation where Joe opens up about another devastating experience he is still overcoming.

Joe and his wife tragically lost their baby boy days before the due date recently and his family are as he describes “still trying to find peace in the pain”.

The strength and the courage he and his beautiful family have shown is nothing short of inspirational.

Since retiring from football, Joe is a well recognised, award-winning motivational speaker, where he continues to empower others within sport and business.
