I I knew by the summer how dry it was in the summer, I had already called it. It's gonna be a terrible winter.
SPEAKER_05I already just got hella rain, same old ship, just hella rain, like non-stop every single day. Just rain, rain, rain. And if it does stop like an hour and then start right back up because it's 15 degrees here, that rain that irrigates, yeah. For sure, for sure, for sure. Man, I'm so mad. Man, I walked into the the garden today, right? And I just stand there, I stood and I'm looking, I'm like, hmm. And I'm just looking down a little bit, and I was like, what man, seeing some fucking uh seeing some burnt flowers, some some old flowers, like some Hermie flowers at the bottom of one plant, at the bottom of one plant, right? And I'm like, damn, I start looking more and I seen more. I'm like it was the whole it was the strain in general, just that strain, yeah. And the fucked up part about that strain is it was um fucking um compound, compound strain. I'm not gonna. Oh, they hurt me all the time.

SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah. I was pissed off about that, man. I was like, damn, out of all these strains. So now I know the receipts came from from last time. The fucking number five. It was looking amazing too. It was looking so good, that's why I was staring at her so long. I was like, damn, she looked good. I looked down like what? I'm like, ah they got me. Ah, they got me, man.

SPEAKER_16I was gonna grab apples and bananas. Um apples and bananas is a good strain. Um I just don't plan on breeding with it in the future. It's one of those strains that don't really throw pistols, so it's really hard to cross. Apples and bananas? And really hard to cross. It doesn't it doesn't throw many pistols. It's one of those strains that like they they almost look like hermes as they're growing, and then they butt up afterwards. But they don't really throw pistols like the average strain, so it's really hard to cross. But if you don't plan on crossing it, run it. But apples and bananas really ain't nothing special.
SPEAKER_05It's cool. It's cool. Uh animal cookies I got growing now, man. I put them motherfuckers in seven-gallon pots. You talking about grease factories, stank with dirt. I'm talking about everything came in and coming out. It's crazy because when I had them in those little two-gallon pots, you couldn't really see much. They just a little two-gallon pot, you're like, uh, you put them in them sevens? Oh my god.

SPEAKER_16No diddy. That was not fun. Yeah, that but I ain't gonna lie, a lot of compound gear does throw some hermes. They got fired. But it does throw hermes very often. Why? I don't know, but compound gear is known to throw her. Too much breeding.
SPEAKER_05Maybe too much. It could be. And short amount of time, too. Short amount of time of breeding, man. Uh suggestion is a compound will definitely be hard.
SPEAKER_16I'm saying still get the apples and bananas if that's what you want. It's a strain, but it's better strains out there. Most of you got like 50 different strains better than most of us.

SPEAKER_16See, we're uh I I mean, I get that too. Their packs are very expensive, but you are gonna get herms on a regular basis.

SPEAKER_16I spent like a lot of money for them packs, and it's like that's the part that sucks, is that they're so expensive, but you're they're just known to throw herms. Yeah, I'm fucking. I don't I don't think I've thrown a pack from uh I don't think I've grown a pack from compound that didn't give me at least one herm.
SPEAKER_05This is my first time going to that. Yeah, and I gotta check the other one.
SPEAKER_16I found some compound gear that's fire. Like there's some compound gear that's up there. You you know they they created the jet fuel. So they they got a lot of jet fuel crosses, a lot of jokers crosses. Those are fire. But out of the ones I've ran, I found a Hermion almost every pack. I ain't gonna lie to you. I think uh is it worth it? To me, yes. You you will find a keeper that's very well worth keeping, but you just gotta you gotta keep an eye on them, ladies.
SPEAKER_05It's tough to keep an eye on shit too. Yeah, you got so many. That's why it's best to like don't even grow a lot unless you for sure about all those trains, man.
SPEAKER_16That's why whenever I pheno hunt, I use the very first tray when I walk in the room. Whatever the first tray is in either room that I walk into, yeah, I keep everything from seed right there. Like all the new stuff right there. All the new stuff is right there directly when I walk in the room, so I can see it, I can keep an eye on it, I can watch it as it grows. But sometimes you don't see those hermes until it's too late. Yeah, they are like I said, they already did.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, you might not know. That's what we're supposed to do. I'm like, dang. Luckily, luckily when it happens, it don't really affect the whole room, but it will affect those ones right near to it, and the one right near to it is like it's one of them ones. Uh man, that's uh shit. I'm you know what I mean. Just be like, uh man.

And I love GMOs, so I'm gonna be selfish. But I heard there's some phenos in that flamboyant as well. Yeah, 250 a pack and constant Hermes is kind of crazy. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie. And that's why I told y'all the truth, even though I like that.

Um, every pack that I've popped from them, I've damn near found a Hermione in almost every single one of them, if they pop. That's another thing. Their germination rate is terrible. You speaking before Chris left or after Chris left? Right before. Right before? Right before. Yeah, right before. The germination rate was horrible. Every pack I got, the germination rate was it was slim to none. You'd be lucky if you get two or three out of each. We got C Big Mine. And and it happens. I'm not I'm not just gonna be able to do that. It can happen anywhere. It can happen to anybody, though. It can happen to anybody. I'm not putting it on compound itself. I would if compound dropped the right cross tomorrow, I would still get it.
SPEAKER_05And I will say the shit you're gonna get from the compound, the shit that that's gonna finish right, it's gonna be like worth it. It is, you know what I mean? It's gonna be worth that 250 or whatever.
SPEAKER_16Yeah, so I'm not saying that compound is not worth it. They are, they they do some great breed runs, they cross some great strains. They owe you a fade.

SPEAKER_09Um I'm gonna talk about a couple things. I call it the top 10 strands of America. I also want to talk about planetic coding and unlocking existing terpen profiles.
SPEAKER_10Um and then I also want to um I want to talk a little bit, which pertains to the same subject, terpening profile and what it means to me and what it represents. So we're gonna start off with the terpene profile first. Uh terpene profile to me, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'm gonna I'll finish dig in a little bit. Um, terpene profile doesn't necessarily mean to me what it means to everyone else. Um, for one, everybody uses it as a uh identifier when it comes to flavor. But what if I told you terpene profile can represent region, location, and terpene profile, which is flavor? Instead of those, instead of just the one basic thing, flavor. You know what I mean? I look at terpene profiles as in uh identifiers. Location, uh typically uh it reflects on the top 10 on the button. What do you mean by what do you mean by the blue?
SPEAKER_09Um when I say identify, I mean like flavor on the chart.
SPEAKER_10When I say identify, pretty much my location, my word kinda originally comes from. This reflects on the top 10 strands of America, which is the top 10 strands of America, right? I kind of broke it down. So you got the Colombian gold, your Mexican language, your Afghan Hindus, you know, the Todd, um Maliwali go for some people, which is uh, you know, the I mean Malawi go, my bad Malawi go, which is the South African language. Yeah, then you got the coca go, you know, you got the German poison, you got uh Maui Walloween, and then you got the Pakistan. So okay. I consider those trends are like pretty much the America-based strands. You know what I mean? Most of the strands that we have here goes back to those lineages somehow, somehow on the chart.
SPEAKER_16Some of those are the only strands they could possibly come from anywhere else in the world, and this isn't that.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, I wanted to I want to make sure I left the life on a on a smaller scale. I don't want to go too wall with it, you know.
SPEAKER_10Some people might even yeah, yeah, some people's minds don't grasp that far. So I want to start small with it, uh, with the top 10 strands of America.
SPEAKER_09And with those strands, if you look at those strands on the chart, right? Um one of the ones that like really kind of like got my brain going was the Maui Wallie from Hawaii.
SPEAKER_10That in particular one right there. Uh, if you look at most of the strands that come off those coastal lines, they're sweet fragrances, you know what I mean? And that kind of reflects back on that chart that I was telling you guys about uh regional location and flavor. So um I'm gonna put together a chart, right, that can kind of identify the locations of of these strands and like the pretty much turpent profiles that they represent, right? So that what we can get like an overall base of your sweets, your gases, and um I like to call it like your in-between, you know what I mean? We we do got the high mostly everything is hybridized, but I'll call it the in-between.
SPEAKER_16You know, if I'm correct, most of the gases are like the Hindus, Hindus, right? Ex Pakistani Afghan. That's the guest.

It moved along afterwards, but it originally came from India. If I'm correct, I I believe it's I believe it's India. But uh yes, most of the gases you're gonna get are gonna be Hindus, uh Pakistani, Afghans. When you hear those names, think gas. Think uh your bubble cushions, uh, think your OGs, think your sours, your chem dogs, your uh fucking baby shit.
SPEAKER_05Um, that's probably where you're trying to get to is uh the reason why.
SPEAKER_16It may be the original weez reason why. Yeah. Today, no. It's plants moved along uh entirely too much. It's grown in different areas. Like I your uh when you grew poly shore, it grew ten times better than when I grew it. Higher altitude, different area, hotter area, drier area, did better with you than it did with me every time. Right, but but it came out much better. Much better, yeah. So that that's just how it happens. I could be growing fucking uh you guys give me a strength, bubble cushion here. The people in in Canada growing bubble cushion, their bubble's gonna come out better. Yeah, it might just like that area better.

They kind of they're they're kind of like a representation on the chart that kind of lets you know based off terape and profiles, like where they land on the uh on the region chart. So, like your Hindus, like you were saying, your Hindu, the Afghans, all those, those fall in those gas rams, right? Then you got you got things like Thailand, those kind of be more sweet fragrances, like just like the Malawi, uh the Maui Wall of Sweet Fragrance. Now the Pakistan is supposed to be more of a gas terraping profile. I haven't experienced that one myself exactly.

That was like really my man object. Now, um this is just for pretty much the people who want to kind of have a theory on this. Uh what if I told you guys that as breeders, what we do already exists. And what I mean by that is uh, you know how we do breedings all the time. We cross names and things like that. Those turkey profiles that we think are new already. Uh man Frosty kind of touched this topic a little bit, but uh we're pretty much we're not we're not making the strengths, we're unlocking genetic coding that's already existing in the plants themselves. It's just doing that. You know what I'm saying? Um I think we look at it a little uh a little odd as breeders, this don't pertain to pretty much uh you know the average homegrower. This is pretty much a breeder topic, though. So uh terpene profiles and and unlocking them. Now most of the strands that we come across lately been pretty much the same strands. I feel like because we we're breeding that same genome pool, you know what I'm saying? Uh when you try to bring something like this, also say if you take something high turp profile that's more of a gas, and you take it over to something that's a dominant turp or or what I like to call a uh a modifier. So a modifier is a strand that no matter whatever you cross it to, it has the ability of changing the turping profile. I feel like uh say that one more time. So a mod a modifier. A modifier is not just any strand. Um, it's a hand chosen a few strands. Okay, I'll give you a good example. Um, not saying that it's crossed a shorter ear. He uses his short ear a lot, right? And he crosses his short ear to things that's like really dominant in trade, and most of the stuff like a mimosa. Everybody knows mimosa carries that tangy profile, really, really. Exactly. Okay. Now, when you have a strand that's called a modifier, a modifier is pretty much a strand that you can take to something like that that's so dominant, and it will give you a new genetic code unlocking. You're not making that new, you're just unlocking something that's already within the plant. That's what I mean by the way.
SPEAKER_05But something that we haven't seen.
SPEAKER_16Give us an example of a give us an example of a flavor that's come out recently that you think got unlocked through this kind of review.
SPEAKER_10Shit, I gave you one. Um, you can think of the mimosa, the tangents, those dominant, those dominant profiles, those are modifiers too, in a way, if you use them correctly. Like, so if you use a mimosa as as a uh donor, you'll come up better as a modifier. Why? Because it's gonna carry, and this is just my experience as a breeder. Uh, usually, typically the the uh hose pertains about 70 to 75 percent of the genetic makeup, which means you're gonna get most of those profiles. But if you take something like uh tangi or a mimosa, or like I like to say, my uh gray jolly wrenches, that whatever I cross that to, that's gonna change the profile. You can take it to a mimosa, you can take it to whatever you think is super, super dominant. Um scorer, like to answer that question straight up, like what strand do I think is new on the market? It's not really none on the market right now that I see this like that. Um, the closest thing, yeah. So the closest thing, what go ahead.
SPEAKER_05But actually, when you say a modifier, it kind of sounds like you're saying that um that that strand is just gonna be a dominant, that's gonna just have the more dominant traits out of the cross.
SPEAKER_16It's like crossing anything you want to the blue dream, like you cross anything you want to the blue dream, blue dream will dominate.
SPEAKER_10I don't want to give you guys some wrong impression. No, that's not what I meant. What I mean is uh modifier is a strand that's going to change the genetic makeup no matter what you cross it to. So I'm not saying that it's dominant, you're not gonna end up with that strand profile, you're gonna end up with something completely different.
SPEAKER_05Gotcha, gotcha, got you. So you're saying that so you're saying like the mimosa is one of those modifiers. So, but if you cross it to something else, it's not gonna give you mimosa, it's gonna give you something totally different.
SPEAKER_10Depends on the way that you do the breeding on now. If you use that, say if you're doing a reversal breeding, right? I will use the mimosa as the reversal instead of as the host, because if you use it as a host, it's not gonna be a modifier, it's because it's not gonna be dominant, it's not gonna be dominant, right?
SPEAKER_16It's gonna be the pollinator. So you want to use it as you want you want it to be the okay, okay.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, on that on that part, but but like I say, even on that part that we're talking about, uh like with the mimosa, I don't have that much. I got a lot of experience with real mimosa, but I haven't had enough previous mimosa to consider it and modify now.

Um that's pretty much the definition of a modifier because what it does is um you can take that strand, and to me as a breeder, that strand is gold, it's worth more than a lot of the strands on the market because now you have something that has the ability. Imagine if you take every one of your favorite strands, right? And you always want you know, as us being breeders trusty, you understand what I'm talking about. Every time we do a breeding, it doesn't mean we come out getting what we want, you know. I mean, but imagine if you had a modifier that would literally change the genetic makeup to everything you cross it to, you know.
SPEAKER_16What do you mean by modifier? And what are you trying to change? Like, are you looking for are you looking for a specific flavor? Right, so you want to open the door to new flavors, yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_10Unlocking existing genetic terpene profiles that already exist, so that's so you would need a strain, you would need a strain that's very unique that you're using across exactly.
SPEAKER_16And with that unique strain, you're gonna unlock the rest of the profiles that are inside of Canvas that we don't have currently. We all got the same exact thing across the board, everything smelled like runs and fucking Skittles. Um, the way to unlock the rest of them is to use strains that have a different profile to it.
SPEAKER_10Different profile. That's not when we're gonna get something new.
SPEAKER_16Like poly shore, poly shore smelled like black licorice. I've uh it's very different. It was it was absolutely different. It was everything about it was totally different. That's what I mean.

That's it. There's no more gas, there's no new gases. The newest gas that I found was the uh Billy Cameron G, and now that disappeared.

I started with a purple haze and I crossed it to a purple Buddha, and then I ended up crossing it to ninja fruit, which had the gray bacon, a grapefruit haze.

SPEAKER_10Yeah, yeah, Stone Ninja. Stone Ninja, yeah. Yeah, so um I ended up making that, and you know what's funny? You said that strand has cookies in it. I used the exact same um uh grape jelly rich and I crossed it to blue cookies when it first came out, and I had that licorice, that black licorice profile that you're talking about.

SPEAKER_10You know what I'm thinking? Because you said haze and you said cookies. Now my strand has haze in it, and I crossed it to a cookies, and I got something similar to what you're talking about, and that's a whole complete strand I never came across.
SPEAKER_16It's from that Durbin, it's from that Durban. If anybody ever had real Durbin, it's very black licorice heavy. Like it as soon as you smell the Durbin, I love that licorice to it.

All your canopy will be even, everything'll be growing right up there where you want it to be. So yeah, it works.

SPEAKER_05If you got like a tall ass strain that just keeps growing hella tall, it's gonna take her hella them to do that. You're gonna end up having to just chop her off in the middle and just eventually. Yeah, you just gonna you're gonna snip that whole thing.
