Winter Water Challenges - Creative Solutions to Freezing

In some climates, stock water can be a challenge during colder months. Having adequate water and keeping it ice-free is not a simple task. In some pastures, water availability is also an issue. Cattle eat more feed in cold weather to generate additional body heat. A lot of body heat is produced by breakdown of forages in the rumen, from the heat of digestion and fermentation.
