Do you find yourself comparing yourself to a person spoken of the Old Covenant/Testament, or are you fully aware of your identity in Christ that He bought with His blood of the New Covenant? All comprehension of the Word of God must therefore be seen through the lens of the Cross.
Hebrews 8:13 (AMPC) shows us of the importance of focusing on God's replacement of the Old with the New: 13 When God speaks of a new [covenant or agreement], He makes the first one obsolete (out of use). And what is obsolete (out of use and annulled because of age) is ripe for disappearance and to be dispensed with altogether.
