Today's message is about are you cursing yourself? For those who want to follow along with us, with the Bible verses, we use the Amplified Classic. Last week on Seek Ye First, we talked about if you are coming to the Lord for your life to change, you must be in a relationship with him. The relationship with Jesus is not so you can get rich. That is an incorrect motive that won't gain you access to God's kingdom. A relationship with Jesus is so you are saved from your sins and your soul has an opportunity to live a better life cleansed by the Lord. In order to access a relationship with the Lord, you must first seek the kingdom of God, which is Matthew 6 verse 33. For those who want to read that verse, those who are not seeking Jesus, but are wanting his benefits from the kingdom of God can only gain access through salvation and pure motive, heart posture, repentance. We do not want you to hear, I knew you not from the Lord. We talked about the following topics last week. What must I do in order to get into the kingdom of God? How do we find the kingdom in order to seek it? What does it mean his way of doing and being right? Why is it difficult for some to get beyond themselves to see the kingdom of God? If a person is blind to the truth of Jesus, how can they be able to see receiving Jesus, the light of this world this week on, are you cursing yourself? We will be talking about, have you ever been praying and praying, but something seems off or not correct. Your heart believes you are moving forward. You are doing all you know to do, but you can sense something is missing. There are areas in our wisdom of God that are unrenewed to the word of God. If you're not reading the Bible, you don't get the revelation and thus stay at the same spiritual level. Not because God doesn't love you, but because you have not done the work of studying the word to show yourself approved. If you are not moving forward, go back and check the fine print of the Bible. This is the one way you have cut your own blessings short. God is faithful and supplies all of our needs. The blessing has gone forth because God finishes what he has started. The question is, if no weapon formed against us shall prosper, are we the weapon formed against ourselves? What we speak can create our world and daily lives. If we don't know the word, we can't speak it to bless ourselves. If your life is not what it should be, what part have you played in making it blessed or cursed? Your life is what you speak it is. How holy your lifestyle is, remaining in Christ and doing what the Bible says in obedience are all a part of it. This week we will be discussing the following topics. The importance of knowing God and his word. The importance of knowing the devices of the enemy. If the devil is not cursing me this time, then who is? What weapon is formed against me? How can I curse myself? Careless words can gain access to your life. How can someone free themselves? One area that we should be all mindful of is what comes out of our mouth. There is life and death in the power of the tongue, which is Proverbs 18 21. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it for death or life. This is why it is so important to know God and to speak his word. The importance of knowing God and his word. We can pray all day, but if we are not praying God's word, nothing is going forth. The angels hearken unto God's word. The angels are waiting to carry out God's word. So if you're not using the word, nothing has happened. Imagine praying all day and not using God's word. Let's look at Psalms 103 19 to 21. The Lord has established his throne in the heavens and his kingdom rules over all. So right there, we're understanding that in this verse, that God's kingdom rules over everything. So we definitely want to be in God's kingdom and praying his word. Psalms 103 verse 20, bless, affectionately grateful, praise the Lord, you, his angels, you mighty ones who do his commandments, hearkening to the voice of his word. So we see right here that the angels are doing God's commandment and they're hearkening unto God's word, which we just discussed verse 21, blessed, affectionately grateful, praise the Lord, all you, his host, you, his ministers who do his pleasure. So we're understanding that when we're using the word of God, when we're in the kingdom, we're speaking out God's word and the angels are carrying out God's word. And when we do that, God's ministers are blessed. This is definitely something that you want to be doing and you want to be speaking God's word, knowing God's word. Let's look at Jeremiah 1 12. God is speaking to Jeremiah, then said the Lord to me, you have seen well for I am alert and active watching over my word to perform it. So God is telling us right here that God is watching over his word to see to it that it's performed. So when we don't speak the word, God can't watch over it to carry it out. Even though he's watching over his word in all areas, he's given us ability to use the word and to speak it. And if we're not using it and speaking it, it doesn't mean that he doesn't want to bless us. It just means we're not walking in obedience and doing what he's told us to do. And he's a gentleman, so he's not going to force us. Let's look at Proverbs 20 verse 24. Man's steps are ordered by the Lord. How then can a man understand his way? If our steps are ordered by the Lord and we can only gain understanding through the Lord and him ordering our steps, we definitely want to be in Christ and in the Lord so that we can have him direct our footsteps. And this is all a part of, are we a part of our own problem? Are we cursing ourselves? Knowing the Lord helps us to know what is not the Lord. Knowing what is not the Lord helps us to identify where the enemy is in our lives. How can we spot the devil in our house if we can't recognize what's God's and what's the devil's? In order to know the Lord, you must be in relationship with him, daily praying and reading his word. Seek ye first the kingdom of God. The enemy tries to gain access to areas in your mind, life and areas that you have not renewed to the word of God. The unsaved mind is different from the saved mind. For example, a car mechanic can overcharge you for parts and labor as long as you don't know how your car works and where parts are located in your car. That person has access to steal from you as long as you are ignorant to the wisdom and knowledge you need to be learning about that car. And that's just an example for a car. The same thing applies with the kingdom of God. Those areas that you don't know the enemy can come in and steal, kill and destroy in those areas because you have not educated yourself to the knowledge of how things work. The devil doesn't take vacation. Your ignorance is his access point or open door to your life. How can the mind be renewed? What is mind renewal? Changing your thoughts, beliefs, lifestyle, ideas, wants, needs, desires, culture to the kingdom minded perspective. That's not your own, but God's will being done. The kingdom of God's new ideas and its new attitude. Let's look at Romans 12 verse 2. Do not be conformed to this world, this age, fashioned after and adapted to its external superficial customs, but be transformed, changed by the entire renewal of your mind by its new ideas and its new attitude so that you may prove for yourselves what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect in his sight for you. Don't you just love how God made it possible for you to have the knowledge and wisdom you need? You just have to be reading and studying his word. Let's look at the importance of knowing the devices of the enemy. The word says in 2nd Corinthians 2 verse 11 to keep Satan from getting the advantage over us, for we are not ignorant of his wiles and intentions. We're talking about knowing the devices of the enemy. Let's look at John 10 10. This is going to help us to understand and to know what is he doing to us or trying to do to us. So in John 10 10, it says the thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came, this is Jesus, that they may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance to the full till it overflows. When we think of John 10 10, think about areas in your life where something is stolen or destroyed. Some of those are the blessings that you were supposed to receive and the enemy had stolen them or killed dreams you had. If you did not get the blessings the enemy did, the areas that I am talking about are areas where you have been living righteously and holy, not something that you feel you're entitled to or something you never studied or work towards getting things that would help you glorify the Lord. What does this mean? Here is an example. You have been raising money to feed the orphans in your village. Someone came along and stole the money just as you were going to buy food for the hungry children. This is an example of something that describes John 10 10, how the thief comes to steal. Be sure to ask the Holy Spirit to bring anything to remembrance that happened to you that you did not do yourself. What I mean by this is that you did not do it to yourself. An example of this is doing something to themselves is going out and getting drunk. Then they crashed their car and go to jail. This is something they did to themselves because they were drinking and driving recklessly. When making your list, the more honest you are about things that happen to you, you will be able to see clearly what is the devil and what was just you. Remember, only the truth will set you free. If the devil is not cursing a person this time, then who is? First, we must look at what part God plays in your life, what part the devil plays in your life and what part you play in your life. Have we prayed, fasted, waited on the Lord? Are we saved, living holy, righteous, repentant lives, remaining in Christ? Have we forgiven everyone, removed all bitterness? Are we still in a secret sin and believing we can sin and not quench the Holy Spirit or get caught? Take time to think about these questions and answer them to yourself in your spare time. So now that we have understanding of what role we play, what role God plays and what role the devil plays, what weapon is formed against us? Isaiah 54, 17, but no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment, you shall show to be in the wrong. This peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. Those in whom the ideal servant of the Lord is reproduced. This is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from the Lord. This is that which I impact to them as their justification, says the Lord. What if we are the weapon formed against ourselves? I have a little mini story that I want to just tell you. I once spoke to a lady who said she was a believer. She was quick to say she belonged to the Lord. She asked me, why is she under such attack? I thought that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I answered, we must examine ourselves and life to compare the words we say to the life we live. As she began to say that, I can't think of anything. Her family began to say, you watch movies with witchcraft and spells. Your kids play video games that have demonic spirits and people killing each other. The concerts you go to, the social media you watch, the voodoo and crystals in your home, the altars you have, et cetera. Clearly, the lady needed to open her eyes to the lifestyle choices being made in her life by herself. In the story, the woman was looking for weapons somebody else had formed against her. The truth came from people, places, things that she let into her life and home. Remember, only the truth can set you free. If you want true freedom, you need to begin with yourself. Let's look at John 14, 30. This is Jesus talking to the disciples about the devil. Verse 30. I will not talk with you much more for the prince evil genius ruler of the world is coming and he has no claim on me. He has nothing in common with me. There is nothing in me that belongs to him and he has no power over me. A person might be looking outside their house for a attack against them and it could be something internally, like in the verses that we just read, or it could be something that they're doing, like the sex before marriage, the drugs, drinking, witchcraft, backstabbing, gossiping, demonic concerts, demonic music, social media, something they stole. If someone's treating their parents demonically, if they're lying, if they're cheating, lying to people about needing money because the people are kind and easy to manipulate from that person's perspective, they could be in anger, in rage and bitterness, adultery. The list can go on and on. No one else can review your life, but you. No one can repent for your life, but you start with the truth and ask the Holy Spirit to bring things to remembrance that you have done. How can I curse myself? We just talked about some things that we could be doing, but are there more things that are the cause of things happening to certain people in their lives? Let's look at Proverbs 18, 21. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it for death or life. What are some things that we can do if what we're speaking can lead us down the wrong path? We're going to eat the fruit of what we speak. Let's think about it and let's go to James 1, 19 to 21, where it talks about be slow to speak and slow to anger. Verse 19, understand this, my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear a ready listener, slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry for man's anger does not promote the righteousness of God wishes and requires. Let's read that last part again. Verse 20 for man's anger does not promote the righteousness of God. So we want to have and we want to be the righteousness of God when we are speaking and not promote offense and anger. Verse 21, so get rid of all uncleanliness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness and in a humble, gentle, modest spirit, receive and welcome the word which implanted and rooted in your hearts contains the power to save your souls. So this verse is saying that when we get rid of this type of speech and replace it with the word of God, it can be rooted and planted within our hearts and it has the power to save our souls. So if anybody's out there looking to want their souls to be saved, this is one of the steps that you can take by removing all wickedness from your life and out of your heart. Let's look at James 1, 20 for man's anger does not promote the righteousness of God wishes and requires. So this is what we just read only. I'm just reading this verse again because it's so good and it's so important. Another area that can be working against you from within you is what you are speaking during times of heavy emotions, rage, anger, frustration, distractions, sorrow, sadness, hopelessness. These are just some of the examples in James 1, 20 for man's anger does not promote the righteousness of God. So when we're in this state of the things that I've just mentioned with heavy emotions and all the things that can come with it, we want to be mindful. All these things open doors to the enemy. These doors were opened by you and what you're saying during these times of heavy emotions. So James 1, 19 says, let every man be quick to hear a ready listener, slow to speak, slow to take offense and slow to get angry. All of this is important that our response is slow, especially during these times when anger and offense is trying to rise up. So let's think about what is the problem with what we're saying, the words that we're saying during these times of heavy emotions that we have to be slow to even form any words to come out of our mouth. Careless words can gain access to your life. Finances, destinies, relationships. Why? Because in Proverbs 18, 21, which we had previously read, death and life are in the power of the tongue. So when we're speaking these words and we're having heavy emotions, death and life, it's in the power of the tongue. And if we continue in Proverbs 18, verse 21, it says, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it for death or for life. When you're saying these careless words and you're talking about different things in your life, you're going to eat the fruit of exactly what you were saying. So when life has turned out a certain way, slow down, think about what you're saying to friends, to family, to coworkers, curse words, self-doubt, speaking hopelessness, depression, I am broke, nothing is working, I don't care anymore. Understand that speaking hopelessness, sickness, disease, death, defeat is harmful to the spiritual growth, to your spiritual growth, because you're speaking it and you have authority in this area. So when you speak hopelessness, you're getting what you're speaking. When you speak these things, it's you who are speaking this over yourself. Let's look at Matthew 15, verses 10 to 11. And Jesus called the people to him and said to them, listen and grasp and comprehend this. Verse 11, it is not what goes into the mouth of a man that makes him unclean and defiled, but what comes out of the mouth, this makes a man unclean and defiles him. So when we speak these words, it's not what we're hearing. It's what we're speaking. What is coming out of our mouth? What are we producing? And according to what we produce, it can make us unclean and defiled. And remember, our goal is to be the righteousness of God. We need to understand that words open doors. Some are canceling blessings with their own words, with their own mouth. Some examples of this, when people say, this is killing me, I will never pass this class or this test. I'm dying to try this. They're literally saying, I'm dying to try this. Or they say, you're sick. You make me sick. I'm sick and tired of this. I can never find a decent man. I can't get pregnant. Nothing is working. I can't do it. All of these things are negative words. So negative words are covenants, agreements of what you are saying and what you believe. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23 7. Fearful words are seeds, seeds that take root, grow, and can anchor themselves into your life if you're not praying and remaining in Christ. Defeated and hopeless confessions are open doors to the enemy. How can someone free themselves from this pattern of saying these negative words and speaking them into their lives? So step one, let's think about, let's stop, let's slow down, be slow to speak and let your actions only speak what needs to happen, not what is happening. You might even have to almost say nothing at times to control yourself. If you're in a time of deep emotions and things are going on, you want to stop, you want to slow down and you want to watch what you are saying so that what you're saying is going to be a blessing to your life and not a curse, not something negative and not something that's going to cause open doors to happen and for the enemy to gain access through times of careless words and you speaking whatever in whatever situations, because your emotions have caused you to be out of control. Replace your negative speech with God's word. Remember the importance of God's word that we talked about earlier in this teaching. You want to say things like, let the weak say, I am strong. The Lord is my provider. All things work together for good. My God shall supply all my needs. You want to be consistent in speaking God's word over your life. You want to stop and listen to what you were saying. Acknowledge that what you are saying is coming from what you are thinking. Change your thoughts, change your mind, change your speech, which will change your life. Replace negative speech with God's word on that topic. So here is a prayer for those of you who are just going through this and you can repeat this prayer in your spare time. When you play this back, you want to be pursuing God and his kingdom as you're praying this prayer. This won't bring results if you're still living in sin. The idea is to remove sin from your life. Thank you, Lord, for setting the captives free as they are obedient to this teaching and do what it says to do. Check your heart. Speak life. Speak out loud daily. Father, in the name of Jesus, I come before you with humility. I come as a child knowing that there's life and death in the power of my tongue. I renounce every negative word I have spoken knowingly or unknowingly. Every word that opened the door to demons or poverty, stagnation and lack. Father, have mercy on me. Cleanse me with the blood of Jesus. Purge my tongue, purge my atmosphere, purge my home, purge my finances. Lord Jesus, forgive me for every careless word, every unfaithful word, every confession, every agreement I made with the lies of the enemy. Forgive me for saying I am broke. Nothing is working. I don't care. And every other statement that contradicted your word. Let the blood of Jesus wash my mouth, wash my mind, wash my atmosphere, wash my finances. From today, my tongue becomes an altar of power. My words become seeds of prosperity. My mouth aligns with heaven in the name of Jesus. I break every covenant created by my words. Every demonic agreement formed through fear, anger, complaint, frustration, or hopelessness. I break it now. Every covenant formed when I said I am broke, nothing is working. I don't care anymore. I will never make it. Things always go wrong. Money never stays in my hand. Let the blood of Jesus scatter those covenants. Now, I cancel them. I nullify them. I erase them. I uproot them. I destroy them forever in Jesus name. Every demonic decree and spiritual handwriting standing against my finances be blotted out by the blood of Jesus. Every spirit of lack, dryness, empty pockets, devourers, wasting, emptiers, destroyers, and financial oppressors. I command you get out of my life, get out of my home, get out of my business, get out of my destiny in the name of Jesus. I shut every door. I open with my words. I shut every gate, every portal, every access point. Poverty, demons, your legal right is revoked right now in the name of Jesus. Now begin to speak life. I declare the Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. I declare my God shall supply all my needs according to his riches and glory. I declare all the things together for my good. I declare wealth and riches are in my house. I declare the blessing of the Lord makes me rich and adds no sorrow in Jesus name.
