Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it. But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it (Matthew 7:13-14 AMPC).

We discuss the following subtopics:

(Transcribed by TurboScribe.ai. Go Unlimited to remove this message.) And welcome back to another episode of Touch of God. My name is Catrice. I'll be delivering the message to you this week. For those of you who would like to follow along in your Bible, we use the Amplified Classic Version. This week we'll be talking about Not Every Door Leads to Life. On last week's program, Are You Cursing Yourself? We talked about sometimes we are living life unaware that what we do or don't do can create a blessed life or a cursed life. Last week's topics were the importance of knowing God and His Word, the importance of knowing the devices of the enemy. If the devil is not cursing me this time, then who is? How can I curse myself? What weapon is formed against me? Careless words can gain access to your life. How can someone free themselves? This week on Not Every Door Leads to Life, we'll be discussing how do we know what is the right way and what is the wrong way to go in life. Every choice in life is different. Every choice can lead to open doors of something good or something not good. It's like stairs. Every choice can either take you closer to a better life, keep you where you're at, or take you down. No choice or decision made is separate from the other. Everything you do, every place you go, every person you're around, see, hear, what you take in, listen to, affects you for the good or the bad. These things are access doors into your life for good or for bad. You get to choose. The topics that we'll be focusing on under the main topic today are what are doors? Doors that lead to the devil through the dyers of the flesh? What good is it to gain the world and lose your soul? How do we know which doors lead to life? What can I do to resist temptation? So let's start with what are doors? The definition of a door is a means of access or participation and opportunity. Open new doors or doors to success. A synonym, which is a word that is the same as a door, is access, entrance, entry, and ascension. Opportunity, that definition is a favorable junction of circumstances, a good chance for advancement or progress. A junction definition is a point in time, especially one requiring a decision to be made. We can see from the definition of door, which is access or participation, opportunity, a favorable junction, a good chance for advancement or progress. Opportunity junction is a point in time, especially one requiring a decision to be made. This means that when you come to a door, it's an access or participation opportunity for advancement or progress requiring a decision to be made at that point in time. That's what a door represents. Think about some doors in our lives, people, places, things, beliefs, finances, love, jobs. Each item on this list requires an access or participation with that person, place, or thing. Each person, place, or thing is an opportunity for advancement or progress in your life in that area of need. Every person, place, or thing requires a decision to be made at that point in time when you meet them, go to that location, or use that thing. You are coming into agreement to allow a person into your life, into agreement with what a place does by going to that place. You come into agreement with a thing when you use it for the purpose it is needed for. In order for a person to be in your life, you agree with in yourself or verbally say yes for them to be your friend, your neighbor, your date, your spouse, things like that. This agreement gives them access to you and you to them. When people marry, they agree to give that person access to them and everything that pertains to them. You are not your own person anymore. You are one with that person now. This agreement opens doors to you. People are doors because you need to make a decision to be in a relationship with them or not. How do we know this is possible? Because Jesus was a door. In John 10 7, it says, So Jesus said again, I assure you most solemnly, I tell you that I myself am the door for the sheep. So we're seeing that Jesus was a door. He was an access point. He was an entry point. And when people met Jesus, they had an opportunity to become a part of Jesus's life to access a more blessed life. By having a relationship with Jesus, they had an opportunity to have a blessed life. In order for you to get into a location. So now we're back to talking about the difference between the different doors of people, location and things. So in order for you to get into a location, you decide what you're doing in that location. First of all, that's the first thing that you decide. You learn what's in that place. You agree inside yourself or with a person to go to that place to get what's inside. An example, when people go out and they said, we're going to go out to a club, the people or you at some point come into an agreement to go there. And in that place, there might be drinking. There might be members of the sex that you're interested in. There might be drugs there. Whatever that you know is there, you're making an agreement before you go that this is what you're looking for. You agree by your action of entering into that place. The location is a door because it is giving you access to what you want. The location choices are doors because you need to make a decision to go forward to use their location or not. In order for you to use a thing, you must know its use and then agree to use that thing. Some examples this applies to are jewelry with evil on them, games like Ouija boards. These choices are doors because you need to make a decision to go forward to use them or not. When you use the item, the spirit attached to it has access to you. This is why we must watch what we use. Doors can come in many different forms, as you have seen, doors are access points, entry points, are gates that decisions get to be made at. Let's take some time to think about decisions in our lives that we have made. Let's think about the doors you have opened to people, places, things. All of those doors are many agreements to access good or evil opportunities on the other side of that door. One that I can even think of is I had a friend and the moment I became friends with this individual, negative things would occur. They were negative. They would do negative things. And I remembered leaving the atmosphere from around them. Maybe we just went out to have coffee. And I just remember feeling attacked and feeling down after being around them. This is an access point, a door that I allowed that person into my life. Let's look at doors that lead to the devil through desires of the flesh. There is a way that leads to life and there is a way that leads to death. Matthew 7, 14, but the gate is narrow, contracted by pressure, and the way is straightened and compressed that leads a way to life, and few are those who find it. Every choice can push you forward 10 steps or back 10 steps. What temptations are pulling you in what direction? Today, there are so many temptations trying to pull from every direction. Everywhere you turned, there is another way to get what you're looking for. The question is, what are you looking for? What are you wanting? The compromise is how bad you want that thing or need that thing. What doors are you willing to walk through to get what you want? Matthew 6, 21, for where your treasure is, there will your heart also be. So what good is it to gain the world and lose your soul? So I have a little story. Are you aware that there are people who want to live in certain countries so bad that they are willing to take an illegal way into the country? The people take their families, little children, and go through a dangerous journey. The path they are taking is dangerous because it is not the right path to enter that country. It's a back door. Someone had them pay for telling them that it is safe. They are blinded to the truth because their want and need is greater than the reality of the current truth. It is important to understand that you do not need to go to the office of the devil to sign up for his school program. Just by participating in demonic events, you are in agreement and opening doors for him to access you. An example of this is Halloween. Halloween is a holiday that is celebrated in certain places. It is when people dress up in sometimes costumes that are not them. Many people will put on demonic costumes, things that are evil to celebrate that evil spirit. Other examples are ungodly music, going to their concerts, buying and listening to the music. It is all access to you. Another door opened in agreement with the kingdom of darkness. 1 John 2.16, for everything in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life comes not from the father, but from the world. So it's saying it's not coming from God. It's coming from the world. These doors of temptation, which are the things that I just mentioned, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life. These temptations can keep a person caught up with things of the world. When a person is consumed with what they want, it can open a door to lust and people, places, power or things. They begin to covet these things. So Proverbs 15.15, all the days of the despondent, desponding means feeling or showing extreme discouragement or depression. And afflicted are made evil, anxious thoughts and forebodings. But he who has a glad heart has a continual feast, regardless of circumstances. And so forebodings, that definition is to worry. The people who are in depression and who are worrying all day long about things, it leads to their day turning out evil. Because that's what they're thinking about all day. The depression and worry are open doors of agreement. A person is coming into agreement with depression. A person is coming into agreement with worry. And when you come into agreement with those things, you're allowing that into your home, into your mind. And as you churn on it, you lust and you covet those things, wanting them all day. When you're lusting and you're coveting after things, that means all day you're thinking about that thing that's bringing you down. You are opening the door through worry by worrying about those things. And that's what makes your day made evil. The act of this makes all your days evil. It is better to be silent than to complain and create a negative atmosphere of evil. Let's look at Colossians 3, 2, and set your minds and keep them set on what is above, the higher things, not on the things that are on the earth. So that's letting you know that we have to keep our minds on the things of God, because that's what's going to bring a peaceful atmosphere and an atmosphere of God. When we come in agreement with something that's good, that's of the Lord, good is going to come from that. So there was a story about a movie where there was a unique looking object. Once the person got the object, a spirit came out and attacked them. The person would beg and plead that they had no idea exactly what it was. The spirit would say to them, you say you do not know what this is. Yet you have the object in your hand requesting to gain access to what it does. If you did not want it, it would not be in your hands. You would not have looked for the object because you wouldn't have wanted it. Did you not say that you wanted the object? Did you not ask for it by name? Even evil knows when you have come into an agreement with something and when evil is upon you, it knows what it's allowed to access and what it's not allowed to access. And so when you come into an agreement and you're doing the thing that you say, you didn't know it's evil. For example, if somebody is constantly going out and having sex with all kinds of people and then they contract a disease, when they contract a disease, they can't say they didn't know what they were doing because they literally did the action that brought on the disease, which was an agreement to allow whatever that person had to come upon them. So the person that they slept with, that was a doorway. And when you agree to sleep with that person, you're saying, yes, whoever you are, whatever you do in life, whatever you have on you, I'm going to now let all of that into my life. And when you agree with that and you make that agreement, that is access. If that person is evil, then that evil is going to come upon you. If that person is saved and doing good, then that could come upon you. But if you're evil, then you have to choose what you want in your life. So that is definite something that people need to watch out for these different temptations in life. These temptations, wants, desires, needs are what can cause people to do things they never would do. Let's look at James 4, 1 to 4. What leads to strife, discord, and feuds? And how do conflicts, quarrels, and fightings originate among you? Do they not arise from your sensual desires that are ever warring in your bodily members? It's desires that you have inside yourself. To continue in the verse, which is James 4, verse 2, you are jealous and covet what others have. And your desires go unfulfilled. So you become murderers. To hate is to murder. As far as your hearts are concerned, you turn with envy and anger and are not able to obtain the gratification, the contentment, and the happiness that you seek. So you fight and you war. You do not have because you do not ask. Verse 3, or you do ask God for them and yet fail to receive because you ask with the wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention is when you get what you desire to spend it in sensual pleasures. Verse 4, you are like unfaithful wives having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God. Do you not know that being the world's friend is being God's enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God. Let's look at what can we do to resist the temptation of this world. In Genesis 4, 6 to 7, it says, And the Lord said to Cain, this is a story about God speaking to a person named Cain and Cain did not do well in a certain situation when he was supposed to provide an offering to the Lord. And the Lord said to Cain, why are you angry? And why do you look sad and depressed and dejected? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at your door. Its desire is for you, but you must master it. What does this mean? It means that there will be those who say, let me read your palm. Let me tell you your fortune. Let me do magic. Take this drug, chant these words, hold this crystal. We must resist these doors of opportunity. They are counterfeit ways, making people think they can get what they want. These are the ways that lead to destruction. You can't get to something blessed through something that is cursed. Let me say that again. You cannot get to something that is blessed through something that is cursed. If you are going to the devil, you're going through evil access points to try to get a blessing or to get freedom. These people, things and situations, locations cannot gain access to you unless you come into agreement with them and let them into your life by coming into agreement, by having relationship with them, they're making promises, making you think that what they're offering to you is good. But if they're evil, they're only going to produce evil. Every seed produces after its own kind. Remember, whatever evil promises evil makes, it's come to do evil. If you don't do what they tell you to do, the spirit through the person, place or thing will try to kill you. Let's look at Matthew 26, 41. All of you must keep awake, give a strict attention, be cautious and active and watch and pray that you may not come into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. When these temptations come up, you need to be praying that you don't go through that door of something that looks like an opportunity. This verse says, keep awake, give strict attention, be cautious and active. These are things that you have to watch out for and watch and pray. So if you're not praying, you're not paying attention and these things are happening, that's because you are needing to master this. You have to master sin because sin can't get in unless you open up the door. That's why in Genesis, the scripture that we read, it said, sin is crouching at your door. It's wanting to come in, but you have to allow access for sin to come in. In order for you not to let sin come in, you have to master knowing how to identify what is not good for you. And the only way that you can do it is by staying diligent, by praying. Let's look at 1 Corinthians 6, 12. I have the right to do anything you say, but not everything is beneficial. I have the right to do anything, but I will not be mastered by anything. So we don't want to be mastered by anything. We don't want evil to master us by its evil intentions and evil devices. Let's look at 1 John 2, 17. And the world passes away and disappears. And with it, the forbidden cravings, the passionate desires, the lust of it. But he who does the will of God and carries out his purposes in his life, abides, remains forever. So when you choose God, when you choose to walk through that door with God, and you are with God, you're doing God's purposes, you're carrying God's purposes out. You're abiding in God. That means you're staying with God. You're not going back and forth. You're not asking for prayer from Jesus. And then you're going to a shaman or you're going to all of these other things because you don't care how you get access. This is talking about when you only go through Jesus Christ, when you abide, then God's blessings and you are going to remain in Christ forever because you're choosing to come in agreement with the Lord and relationship with him. And you're accessing that door to Jesus. You abiding in Christ, God's purpose is going to remain. Let's look at Colossians 3, 5, but put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature, sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry. Matthew 4, 8, the devil is talking to Jesus again. The devil took him up on a very high mountain. So this is the devil trying to tempt Jesus and he takes him up on a mountain and he showed him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory and the splendor, magnificence, the preeminence, the excellence of them. The devil is trying to tempt Jesus, but Jesus responds with the word of God. In the previous verses, when it was saying, you have to pray, you have to pray the word of God, and you have to respond to all of these temptations with the word of God. Let's look at Colossians 3, 2 and set your minds and keep them set on what is above the higher things, not on the things that are on the earth, when temptations and opportunities of new doors and access to things and opportunities are coming into your life, you want to keep your mind on the things of the Lord. And that's how you're going to figure out if this is a good opportunity or if it's a bad opportunity. Again, in the other example, where the people are trying to get into a country, but they're paying to use a backdoor that's dangerous, if there's a chance that you could die, I would say that that's not a good opportunity. Let's look at 1 Corinthians 10, 13. For no temptation, no trial regarded as enticing to sin, no matter how it comes or where it leads, has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man, that is no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance, and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience and such as man can bear. So God is saying that everything that you are tempted with, you can resist it. It's not above you resisting it. It's not above something that you just are so unable to resist. God makes a way for you. Let's look at doors that lead to Jesus and life. How do we know which doors lead to life? We must go through the right door to enter into the kingdom of God. Matthew 6, verse 33, but seek, aim at, and strive after first of all, his kingdom and his righteousness, his way of doing and being right, and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. Amen. Amen. This is just the beginning of understanding what God's kingdom offers when you choose the door that God is. Because remember previously, Jesus said, I am the door for the sheep to enter. If you're wanting to be God's sheep today, it is never too late for you to come to the Lord. God is waiting for you with open arms for you to come through the right door, to choose the right thing. When you choose life in Christ, he is faithful to do what he has promised. Amen.
