explore one of the most important books in human history. Welcome back to another modern mind ancient book. Today, we're gonna do the book of Genesis, with your dad. Are you excited. Good. Okay, so the book of Genesis is a creation account. Do you know what creation means no creation means making something. So like when you draw a picture you're creating a picture. Does that make sense. Do you like to draw what God is the cosmic artist. Do you know what cosmic means cosmic beings like all of space. You know what space is right. That's where the planets are, remember the planets. Oh, yeah. Earth is a planet that's right. So, in the book of Genesis, God ordered the earth and the heavens. Do you know, ordered means. That means that he put it in a way that makes sense. So, remember how we learned how to count 1234 number that. Okay, so that's ordering, right, because we learn how to count in a specific way, we learn 1-234-567-8910 Right. And then, the numbers are ordered. Does that help you understand it. Okay, So God ordered the earth. So he made the sunrise and the sunset. He made the day in the night, he ordered the day in the night. Does that make sense. Okay. And then he created all the animals and all the plants and the dry land isn't that cool. And then he created you and me. That's what the Bible says, What do you think, Oh, I think so too. And so since God created everything, and he ordered everything, and he put it in its place, then that's why we call it a creation account. Does that make sense. Okay. So what's one of the coolest animals that you can think of. The cheetah. What makes the cheetah so cool. Because a random leopard spot. Yeah and the leopard has spots. That's right. So, according to the Bible, God created the leopard, and the cheetah. And he made the leopard, to do a certain thing, and he made the cheetah, to do a certain thing that she does super fast, and the leopard has spots so it has really good camouflage to hide how great the leopard has its spots, and the spots help that the leopard hide in the tall grass in that. Okay. Okay. So, what else is in Genesis, what else do you know about Genesis. Did you see anything on Bible Adventure or anything like that about Genesis.

Talk a little bit louder. Okay. Okay. Okay, so, you know who else is in Genesis, the devil. He is the devil he, he came to Adam and Eve is a snake. Remember we talked about this you you told me that you saw this on Bible Adventure remember that he convinced Eve to eat a fruit from a tree. Do you remember that. Yeah, so that's the book of Genesis. So what happened is there was one who was smarter. The word means smarter than the other beasts of the field. And it's portrayed as a serpent. And it's the devil the deceiver. So he was more smart, right, then even Eve. So he came to Eve and he said, Go ahead and eat that. And then she ate it, even though God said not to eat it. That was bad. Right. She shouldn't have eaten. What she did, and that's okay because that's the way that life is sometimes life is easy and sometimes life is hard, sometimes we make mistakes and sometimes we do the right thing, right. Yep, that happens sometimes. So Eve ate the fruit and she gave the fruit to Adam and Adam also ate the fruit, the devil did his job he tricked them. He was bad, wasn't it. And so, when God came back to the garden, to meet with Adam and Eve, who are the first people did you know that Adam was the first man, he was the first woman. And do you know what made them special. They were created in God's image. Do you know what that means God's image. No. So what it means is, have you ever seen a picture of yourself. Yeah, I say, yeah, That's you, that's your image. you and Jake, you were in the picture. So that was an image of you, and Jacob. Does that make sense. So we look like God. Do you believe that. Pretty crazy huh. So, God made us to look like him. Now what that means exactly I don't know, I know that you are so smart or did you know that you're so smart.

Know you want to learn some math. You're going to go to school, pretty soon, aren't you. Well I think that's what to be in God's images is to go to school, and to create things and all that stuff. The very first word of the Bible says, In the beginning God created he's created. Talk louder. Yeah. Nice. Thank you, going to church, kids. Good. So, the Bible says, sisters. Church is great, but right now we're talking about Genesis not church right. So let's go back to Genesis, so. Okay. So human beings were, what the, everything was created by God humans were created by God, and then human beings, ate, or did something that they shouldn't have done right. And so God kicked them out of the garden.

far away in our space, outer space, onto the earth. Okay, so they had to go out and to a place where it wasn't as nice, they went out. What did you say earlier the desert. Remember we were talking about this. Yeah, they went on into a place where they had to work really hard to get food desert, maybe that's Yeah, that's right there, there's desert in Egypt, you're so smart, you learn all this stuff from the Bible adventure stuff. That's so cool. Yeah. So God kicked them out of the garden, and they went out and then they had children. Do you believe it, they had little kids like you, how many, how many children get Scott Well, first they had Cain and Abel and that's like one of the very first and most important stories because Cain was not a nice guy. In April, it's a great guy. Yeah and Abel was a great guy. So what happened is, Cain killed Abel. He killed his own brother. Do you believe it. I was so relieved. I saw. Wait, I Phantom camera will be washed today. Yeah, we want to watch that. So, after Cain killed Abel, Cain was no longer allowed to stay with Adam and Eve, he had to leave that land where he was going through temper get God talk louder, okay. That God on the cross. Yeah that was Jesus and that's like later. Right now we're talking about Genesis Genesis was really really long time before that Genesis was when the nation of Israel was forming. Does that make sense. So Jesus was a Jewish man, Is that correct. Was he Jewish. He was he was Jewish. So, Jewish is Israel. Right. So in order for Jesus to die on the cross, he first had to be Jewish in order to be Jewish. Israel had to form. Genesis as about the formation or how Israel was created God created Israel to be so creative. Hmm. That's kind of cool. So, okay. So Cain had to leave the land of his father's. And then he went out and he made babies and he founded the city. Okay. Yep and then after that was Abraham Do you know who Abraham is for you. Say Abraham the father of the multitude. You can't say that daddy okay So Abraham, Abraham, the father of nations, nations. Yeah, that means like countries and stuff. Okay, so, yeah So Abraham is another super super important person. Because Abraham receives a blessing from God, it's called the Abrahamic agreement or covenant. Does that make sense. Yeah. It says if you bless Abraham, You will be blessed. Yep, and that continues for Israel as well. Okay, so, Abraham had a wife named Sarah, but at first, Abraham was abroad. That was his name, not Abraham. And Sarah's name was raw not Sara. Abraham was promised to have children but Sarah couldn't have any children that's sad huh. She couldn't have any children. I don't know her. In the Bible it says her womb was closed. So she just couldn't have children. And Abraham and Sarah made a lot of mistakes, they had another child that they probably shouldn't have had. But that's okay because Ishmael was his name. He ended up also becoming a great king, but not in God's promise. That was it, Isaac. Yeah. Okay, so, Abraham and Sarah got pregnant they had a baby. Isn't that cool.

And then the promise line went through him. And so the story goes on after that and like what you see is that Genesis is really really really really focused on what came before Israel, that led to the nation of Israel.
