Senator Rufai Hanga has resigned from the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, barely five months after joining the party alongside his political ally, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
His resignation comes amid weeks of reported disagreements over political positions and candidate selection in Kano, and after a series of conflicting signals about his political future.
