Opposition political parties in Nigeria have held a summit in Abuja to discuss how they can work together ahead of the 2027 elections.

The summit brought together representatives of six opposition parties, including the African Democratic Congress, ADC, the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, and Social Democratic Party, SDP.

The meeting comes as opposition parties continue efforts to build a common front ahead of the 2027 elections, with proposals ranging from greater cooperation among the parties to working towards a possible common presidential candidate.

Today on Nigeria Daily, we look at what the opposition proposed at the summit, what the proposals mean, and whether they can actually translate into a united opposition ahead of the 2027 elections.
