In this episode, I invite you to step into your calling and truly decide it's time to change your life. This episode is your wakeup call to take action and break through and step into the next version of who you're meant to be.

If you've been sitting on a dream, a goal, or a calling that you keep pushing to the back burner this episode is for you.

 Key Takeaways

  1. The vision isn't the assignment, you are. The dreams and goals you're chasing aren't just things to accomplish. They're vehicles for becoming who you were always meant to be.
  2. Your calling is your compass. Before you can reinvent yourself, you need to know where you're being called. That inner direction gives your reinvention purpose and clarity.
  3. You have to let go to receive. Holding onto who you were... the past successes, identities, and comfort zones leaves no room for what's coming. Release it to make space.
  4. Fear and faith live on the same spectrum. Fear is inevitable, but you get to choose your response. Trading fear for faith is what separates those who break through from those who stay stuck.
  5. Staying the same has a cost. Ignoring your calling drains your energy, caps your income, and takes a toll on your mental wellness. The cost of inaction is real.
  6. You can't receive with a closed hand. Expansion requires openness in mindset, identity, and willingness. Open up to receive what you're meant to steward.
  7. Change is uncomfortable by design. Tony Robbins says it best: change happens when the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of change. Get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Speaker

Welcome to the Motivation Babe podcast. I'm your host, Hillary. Let's dive on. We're going to start today's episode a little differently. I want to read some words. These are not my words. These are from Matt Gottesman. I was scrolling on Instagram and instantly when I read this carousel, it connected with me. It did something to me. Tears in my eyes. I felt it in my core, this message. And we're going to start today's episode with Matt Gotteman. What you are being called to build will never compete with who you are becoming. God doesn't give you a vision that costs you your identity. God gives you one that reveals it. The right vision will grow you into yourself, not out of it. That's how you know it's real. It doesn't pull you out of alignment. It pulls you deeper into it. You are not just building something out in the world. You are becoming the person who was always meant to carry it. Over time, you'll realize the vision wasn't competing with your identity at all, but uncovering what only you're here to do. That's when you realize the vision wasn't the assignment. You were. And that's what we're getting into today. Can I read that last part one more time? That's when you realize the vision wasn't the assignment. You were. How many times have we heard, been told, thought that the dreams, the visions, the goals that we have is what we're meant to do here in this world? But au contraire, it's actually not that at all. But it is in the process of you doing these things, becoming that. That's the assignment. It is you becoming the version of you along the way. That is the assignment we were given to be on this earth with. I want you to think of like those last thoughts you think at the end of the night, where are you being called to right now? My second question is, how are you responding? What is your response to your calling right now? And I'm gonna be honest. I've been sitting on a calling for years that I've been ignoring, I haven't been responding to. So I say that because I'm going to guess you're in the same boat that your calling is something that you hear and you feel, but night after night, month after month, year after year, here you are. You clicked this episode for a reason. We're talking about reinvention and expansion. And I gotta tell you, if you want to reinvent yourself, if you want to expand yourself, you're going to have to respond to your calling and you're going to have to take action. And it's going to be scary and it's going to be messy, and you're not going to want to do it because change, no one likes change. But change, when we can push past through the fear, that is that is where our breakthrough is. I want to get into reinvention, but I really believe the compass to your reinvention is rooted in your calling. And when you know where you're meant to go, that gives you all the direction you need for your reinvention. However, in order to reinvent ourselves, something that I've been working on for the past two, three years is fully realizing who you are. Fully realizing you are not the person you once were, fully realizing you have changed, you are different, you have new experiences, you have grown. I mean, fully embracing this version of you and your own becoming and letting go, letting go of everything that once was, the success, the love, the life, the whatever it was. When we hold on to what was, we don't keep room for what's coming. Like we have to let go. We have to let go to receive and fully embracing who you are. That is like the first step in the work that you have to do. But like I said earlier, it's when we realize, okay, I'm gonna let go. I'm gonna let go. I'm ready to receive. I'm ready to embody this next version of me. I'm ready to reinvent myself, Hillary. I'm gonna tell you, it's gonna be scary because we hold on to who we were because there was safety and security in knowing all that that came with, even in the discomfort of it all. Tony Robbins actually says something. He says, change occurs when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change meaning. We get comfortable sitting in our own discomfort. We get comfortable in the settling, we get comfortable in the inaction, we get comfortable in accepting life the way it is, and that is a scary place to be because we create these safety nets, these safety nets that we think are protecting us, but in reality, it's only stopping us in our growth, in our journey, in us responding to what that calling is to do in our lives so we can become the people, the woman that we're meant to be. We have to push through, not only having the awareness and taking the action, but I'm gonna tell you what it is. It's passing through the fear, the fear of change, the fear of realizing I'm not the same person and I don't know what this new version of me comes with. I don't know where this leads us to. But you need to push past it because I want you to know that the same on the same spectrum of fear is faith. Okay. And I need us to trade that fear for faith. It's like happy and sad, it's the same spectrum, right? Fear and faith, baby. Fear and faith. Fear is always going to be inevitable, but what isn't is how you respond to it. And that's called a resiliency, right? I need you to connect to your higher purpose. I need you to think, what is it costing me to continue to not acknowledge the calling that has been bestowed upon me? What is it costing me? There are a few things I can identify that it's going to cost you. It's going to cost you energy and draining your energy. It's going to cost you money in capping your income andor limiting your income. It's going to cost you anxiety, mental wellness in the constant pull of identity. It costs you more than you realize. We have to take action. We have to face fear in the face. We have to have faith to make it through. And no, we can't take the risk anymore sitting on the sidelines. Because let me tell you this interesting thing about expansion, okay? I want you to think about receiving. But right now, you have your hands closed. So, how can you receive with a closed hand? You want to expand your life, your growth, your purpose, your impact, your income. You want to expand in all the ways possible. You gotta open up your hand. You have to be willing to receive. And you can't receive from a smaller place of being in the way that would truly serve you and move the entire trajectory in your life. I mean, you've seen it, you've seen the stories. And I'm not one to talk about the overnight success, but there are some instances in people and creators that you know that, man, their life looks completely different than it was 12 months ago. What did they do? Their willingness to meet their calling, to take action, to break through the fear, face fear in the face, have a little faith, open their hands and be willing to receive what they were meant to hold on to, what they were meant to steward. So you want to have some reinvention in your life? You want to truly tap into your calling, this is how you expand. This is how you expand. It is all connected, y'all. Every dream and goal and desire you have is your invitation to expansion and reinvention. But we are getting way too comfortable in the versions of who we are, of what we once were. We are getting way too comfortable in settling for less than what we know. You can feel it within you, settling for less than what you deserve. It is not an easy journey, which is why very few do it. But I know, I know it is possible for us, for you, and for me. So, what's it gonna be? What are you going to do next? Tonight, as you go to sleep, I want you to listen to that calling and hear. You'll feel it. You'll feel it if you can just quiet the mind and go tap deep within yourself. Where are you being called to go to and what are you being called to build? And I need you to respond to that. I want you to respond to that inner voice. I need you to make a promise to yourself that you will take action because you can no longer risk the alternative. I hope this message served you. This is all about growth and expansion, but in order to grow and expand, you have to know where you're headed. You need that northern star, you need a compass, and that compass is within you. Don't be afraid to respond to it. Face fear in the face. Have a little faith. Break through, break through to the next version of you. Reinvent yourself and your life in 12 months from now, it can all look different. This is your wake up call. This is your wake-up call, ladies. It is time to listen and follow your calling, and you know where to find me. Oh, this was a good one. At Instagram at it's HilaryCortez. Thank you for tuning in to this beautiful episode. I hope it served you. Oh, y'all. Until our next episode. Bye.
