The Blind Exorcist: Christian Deliverance Testimonies
The Cost of Freedom — What Deliverance Demands
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode, I talk about one of the hardest truths of deliverance — the cost of freedom. After years of exorcism ministry, I’ve seen the same pattern over and over again: people want the pain to stop, but they don’t want to die to self. They want the demons gone but hold on to the sin, resentment, and comfort that keep the doors open.
I share what it really means to “take up your cross daily” and why Christianity is a call to die — to pride, bitterness, and compromise. Freedom isn’t free; it costs surrender. I walk you through how addictions become a form of worship, why many deliverances fail, and how counting the cost leads to true change that lasts.
If you’ve ever wondered why certain areas of your life still feel bound, this message will challenge you to look deeper. It’s time to hand God the pen, let Him rewrite your story, and finally walk in the destiny He designed for you.

SPEAKER_00Welcome to episode 36 of the Blind Exorcist Podcast. I am Justin D. Your host. Thank you so much for coming back, and I am so excited to be here with you today. And if you're new to the podcast, welcome to the fam. Okay, here's the deal. Lately, I am in a lull of getting somebody to come onto the podcast and share their story. Why is that? To be honest with you, it takes a special person to come on here and disclose their trauma, their life, their possession, and their freedom journey. So not everybody that I work with is willing to do that. So the clients that I've worked with over the past few months have not been up for sharing their story. And this is fine. I respect that and I admire their honesty and I appreciate it. Until I can get somebody willing to share their story and testimony with you, I'm going to be bringing some small teachings from me to you, which I think will bring a lot of value to your understanding and perhaps even to your life when it comes to spiritual warfare, demons, and all that stuff. But I also have something pending that's quite special that I think you're going to really appreciate. I've never done it on the podcast yet. So it's still in the making. And when that comes live, you'll know what it is. Trust me. Okay. So I got a little something in the works. So today I wanted to hop on here real quick with a little teaching. And I encourage you, if you've never visited my website and read my blog posts, I would encourage you to go to justindee.com forward slash explore. Again, that's justindee.com forward slash explore. There you can toggle between the blind exorcist podcast where you can see them all and listen to them, and you can toggle to Frontline, which are blog articles that I've written about spiritual warfare. And I encourage you to check those out. And I've also got some articles I've been putting together called Truth Unfiltered. And this is basically anything that doesn't fit into a podcast or straight up hardcore spiritual warfare. Truth Unfiltered is going to be a lot of fun. I'm excited to begin building that over time. Things like can a Christian have a demon? Or how is it possible for a Christian to have a generational curse? Things like this. And just some really cool teachings. So now for today, I want to take a little bit of time and just share from my heart what I've noticed as an exorcist over the past three years of me doing this. And I had a year and a half of training before that. So this isn't about, ooh, I'm highly credentialed here. I'm just letting you know I've been doing this long enough that I've seen some patterns. Old Justin D has seen some patterns, and I want to share them with you for encouragement and to challenge you. It is amazing to me the people that come for deliverance that want to do it their way. What do I mean by that? They don't want to give up sin in their life, but they want the pain to go away. They're demons. And also they, it might not even be sin. It's just an area of their life that they don't want to give up that allows demons to stay. And so I'll hear things like they still want to use edibles and they're smoking marijuana, or maybe they're sleeping with their boyfriend or girlfriend. And these are Christians that go to church, and you know, like this is okay. And I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. The Bible's real clear on this that it's sin, like you don't have sex before marriage. Like this is Christianity 101. But in our culture today, it's just for whatever reason, people have lost the core concept of sin. God gives us grace so that we can grow not to sin. Does that make sense? You know, a lot of people's like, oh, I'm gonna go get hammered and, you know, bang someone and have sex, and Jesus will forgive me. No, that's not the idea of grace. So the idea as a Christian is that you are following the teachings of Christ. Christianity is a religion of death. Let me explain to you what I mean by this, okay? Hear me out. You have to die to self. Christianity is a religion of self-denial, right? Jesus straight up said, whoever wants to be greatest in the kingdom of God must be servant to all. Well, if you're gonna be a servant, you're gonna have to die to a lot of stuff in life. And so there lies the problem when it comes to freedom and exorcism. People don't want to die, they don't want to die to the things in their life that they cling to. And so as a result of that, they can't get free. So you may have met people or you've come across people where, hey, I've been through deliverance, it didn't work. And my question is is do you have things in your life that you know you're supposed to give up and you can't? And a lot of times those things aren't necessarily blatant sins, like what we think about drugs and alcoholism and occult practices and all that stuff. Sometimes and oftentimes, it's what's going on on the inside, the resentment, the anger, the bitterness that you're gonna hold on to because you don't want to let it go. And so demons have a right to stay. Pride, that's huge. Every human being suffers from pride. But are you willing to give that up? Are you willing to say that somebody's better than you? Because the Bible tells us to esteem others better than yourself. So this is the tricky part of freedom. I just want to challenge you as a Christian. If you truly want freedom, you have to serve Jesus Christ with your whole heart. Christianity is saying to Jesus Christ, I here's my pen and here's my tablet where I've been writing my own story. Justin's gonna drink alcohol, a gallon of Captain Rum a week, right? So I'm writing my own story. He's gonna date these women and sleep with them. I'm writing my own story. He's gonna do some marijuana. I'm writing my own story, I'm doing my own life story. If you haven't heard episode one, you should. It's my story. Overcoming the darkness. At a certain point, you have to take that pen and that pad and let God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit write your story. Got that? That's key. Gotta give up. Give up the control, give up the depression you're holding on to, give up the fear, give up the hatred of men, hatred of women, give up all the comfort things that you use, the addictions, addictions to food, pornography, gambling, whatever. Addiction is a form of worship. So what you're doing instead, and this is not designed to put shame or guilt on you, like God's been dealing with me on this, because when I'm in emotional stress, I tend to gravitate toward food. In my story, I talk about how I used to be a binge eater and I got delivered from that. But my psychological disposition is gravitate toward food if you're not feeling well. Maybe you have a lot of stress, maybe you're exhausted. So I tend to gravitate toward foods, or if I'm just stressed out. And so God's, hey man, like you are going to it, aka food, for comfort. Who's your God? And I'm like, You are exactly. So why aren't you coming to me? And there's the issue. When you go to your addiction, craziness, dude. The things I like, I know so many Christian women that every night drink an entire bottle of wine and think that's okay. And they're not alcoholic. They've lied to themselves, and oh, this is just what the girls do after work, or this is what the girls do to relax. Sure, one or two glasses, okay. I'm not that guy. I was an alcoholic, so I can't have one or two glasses. I'm real with myself, and I'm not gonna open that door up for Satan. But an entire bottle of wine going to something that's going to comfort you rather than to God. Or really, what it boils down is to sacrificing self. I'm not gonna use X, Y, and Z addiction to comfort myself. I'm gonna go self-improve. I'm gonna go to therapy, figure out why I'm messed up, why I have all this baggage. Oh, and then I'm gonna go for an exorcism so that I can get the demons out that are tormenting me from my trauma. Okay. So I guess, in short, with all of this being said, I'm I'm throwing a lot out to you guys to challenge you. And maybe you have been walking with the Lord for a long time, but there's still areas in your life that are in bondage. There's always a reason for that. And it always comes back to us not willing to die. Not meaning, meaning, Jesus said, take up your cross daily and follow me. This is what I mean by dying, not committing suicide and jumping off the roof of a building, okay? Take up your cross daily and follow me. Crucifying your desire. Colossians chapter three, Paul says, put on the new nature. Put it on. Peace, love, joy, God, right? All this stuff. Put it on. You've left behind the old nature, the old lifestyle. This is what it takes. Crucifying the sinful nature, crucifying selfishness, crucifying being judgmental, bitter, whatever it is, right? We all know what's wrong. We just don't want to fix it. Isn't that the truth? We all know what's wrong on the inside of us. We know when we're holding on to bitterness. We know when we're not doing right before God. We lie to ourselves, we make excuses and compromise, compromise. And then demons get in and demons get in. So take up your cross daily and follow me. This is what Jesus said. And Jesus also said, count the cost when he gave a parable. You can look it up where he's, hey man, before someone goes out and builds like a big house or whatever, going to build something, they count the cost because they don't want to go out and start building this big thing and then realize, hey, this is too much. I stop. This is why Jesus says to count the cost, because it's going to cost you, right? Jesus Christ said, I mean, clearly, unless you give up your life, you're not going to find it. Whoever loves mother, daughter more than me isn't worthy of me. Whoever loves father more than me isn't worthy of me. And on and on he goes. And he said, Whoever not willing to give up their life for me is not worthy of me. This is in the Bible. Like, I'm not making this up. So this is it. You want to be free from demons? You gotta die and crucify what you're holding on to. Whatever it is. And you know as well as I know what that is. No judgment here, guys. Remember what I've always said? This ministry is raw and real. This is the streets, this is living Christianity out in real life, real trauma, real mess, but being delivered, healed, and walking in your destiny. Is your destiny really buying the person's McDonald's that's behind you in line? Is that really the best you can do? There's I'm not judging, I'm just saying, like, we all have been created with a destiny and a purpose. And when we hold on to trauma and we're like, I'm not changing, or I'm not going for therapy, I'm not going for exorcism, I'm just gonna keep sitting and doing a little bit of Jesus, doing a little bit of the world, and just lazzie, da-da, all through life, you're never hit your destiny. You'll never complete it. And God's got something for you to do. And it's not buying somebody a cheeseburger behind you in McDonald's. Okay, cool. That's cool. It's giving, it's charitable, that's great. But so you pay for the meal and drive off. That's it. It's not like you're getting out and sharing the message of salvation and so forth. So, this is what I'm saying. Like, there's all of this kind of stuff in our culture that's kind and nice, not saying don't do it, but it's not our destiny. So many people don't have a clue what their destiny is because they're holding on to their demons and they're holding on to trauma and they're holding on to sin. How many people I've worked with that are unwilling to give up a partner, a sexual partner? Unwilling. Unwilling. So they want to live in sin, they want to live and just have sex and act like they're Christians, and it doesn't work. I've actually had to tell clients, I'm sorry, I can't continue with you. This is not worth your time or my time. And I've just refunded them. I'm gonna work with people who have hit the bottom because I'm serious, dude. This is you better be at the bottom to come see me in wanting freedom. And the people that I'd say 99% of the people that do, they're dead serious. Like the people I work with, they are furious at Satan. They hate them, and they're like, whatever I gotta do to change, I'll do it. Whatever, it doesn't matter. They're throwing more stuff out of their homes than I could shake a stick at. These people are serious, man. They're I'm working with a woman right now, cut the boyfriend off, been with them for quite a few years, maybe three years. Says, we're done. I'm serving Christ, and this guy was in the occult, and she's like, I'm done. Cut him off, went through her exorcisms and therapy, going to church. She hit the reset button. Hallelujah. So, anyhow, I hope you found some of this encouraging, inspiring. Just really the main point of all of my rambling here is it costs you to be free. It costs you personally to be free. Taking up that cross daily and dying and being willing to let go of everything for Jesus Christ so you can be free. Well, I appreciate you tuning in. I hope you found some encouragement and some challenge in this today. And if you know somebody who could use some encouragement and challenge, I encourage you to text this episode to them and say, check this out. See what you think. All right. So until next time, keep serving Christ. Work on letting things go and work on improving yourself through Christ so that you can walk in the destiny that Jesus Christ has called you to complete before you draw your last breath.
