EP 179: BAD BOYS

Act 2: The Podcast Season 1 Episode 179

Back Like they never left, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence hit the box offices with the fourth installment of their action packed series Bad Boys. Like the previous releases, moviegoers packed the seats to see if it was worth the wait. Including us. And in our opinion, it definitely was. Does this mean the dark cloud has lifted after the Oscars incident involving Will Smith? Has he escaped cancel culture? In either case, his box office supremacy continues.

Bad boys come from all facets of life. And in many cases, their life can be transformed. Rapper Bun B is an example of a bad boy turned businessman. With his Trillburgers franchise thriving in the city of Houston, he has proven that once a thug doesn’t mean always a thug. So when he was asked to take the stand to testify in the case of a home invasion where his wife was held at gunpoint, what else would he do?

Sometimes bad boys can actually be bad girls. But the double standard in society tells us that many bad girls go unpunished especially when their victims are male. Is it ego and pride, or embarrassment that hinders a man from reporting a crime committed against him by a woman? Recently, actor Michael Rainey of Power fame was sexually assaulted on camera raising the question of “what would you do?”. And for many men, that answer is and has been a resounding nothing.

We may not agree but we’re not surprised. Check out episode 179 as give our opinions on bad boys (and girls) in real life and the movie. Join the conversation… leave a comment, like, share and don’t forget to subscribe!
