You know,"},{"startTime":161.69,"endTime":166.16,"body":"your bombarded with messages about talk"},{"startTime":161.69,"endTime":166.16,"body":"marketing and SMS and email marketing"},{"startTime":166.161,"endTime":168.72,"body":"and Facebook ads and Google ads and"},{"startTime":166.161,"endTime":168.72,"body":"Google shopping and YouTube there's."},{"startTime":168.74,"endTime":173.08,"body":"So social media and SEO, and there are"},{"startTime":168.74,"endTime":173.08,"body":"so many things that you can do that."},{"startTime":173.23,"endTime":176.16,"body":"What we often do is we"},{"startTime":173.23,"endTime":176.16,"body":"try to do everything. The,"},{"startTime":176.18,"endTime":178.12,"body":"the first most common one I would say is,"},{"startTime":178.14,"endTime":181.72,"body":"is every new business owner gets"},{"startTime":178.14,"endTime":181.72,"body":"all their social media accounts,"},{"startTime":181.721,"endTime":183.8,"body":"and then they start posting"},{"startTime":181.721,"endTime":183.8,"body":"a ton on social media,"},{"startTime":184.66,"endTime":187.76,"body":"but it doesn't take very long to"},{"startTime":184.66,"endTime":187.76,"body":"experience some degree of burnout,"},{"startTime":188.38,"endTime":191.64,"body":"but we think we have to keep up with"},{"startTime":188.38,"endTime":191.64,"body":"this schedule that we set in the back of"},{"startTime":191.641,"endTime":193.48,"body":"our minds, like I'm gonna"},{"startTime":191.641,"endTime":193.48,"body":"post every single day."},{"startTime":193.54,"endTime":197.44,"body":"And so we try to keep up with that"},{"startTime":193.54,"endTime":197.44,"body":"and we find ourselves burnt out,"},{"startTime":197.78,"endTime":198.51,"body":"but here's the,"},{"startTime":198.51,"endTime":203.31,"body":"unless you have unlimited resources"},{"startTime":198.51,"endTime":203.31,"body":"you can only afford to do so"},{"startTime":203.54,"endTime":207.43,"body":"much. And even if you have a lot"},{"startTime":203.54,"endTime":207.43,"body":"more resources in your business,"},{"startTime":207.431,"endTime":210.35,"body":"there's an unlimit, there's an"},{"startTime":207.431,"endTime":210.35,"body":"infinite amount of things you can do."},{"startTime":210.47,"endTime":213.51,"body":"And an infinite amount that you can"},{"startTime":210.47,"endTime":213.51,"body":"invest money and time wise into your"},{"startTime":213.511,"endTime":216.63,"body":"marketing. And so what we need"},{"startTime":213.511,"endTime":216.63,"body":"to do is we need to actually, I,"},{"startTime":216.69,"endTime":218.95,"body":"I'm gonna recommend that you pull back, I,"},{"startTime":219.06,"endTime":223.54,"body":"I recommend you pull back and you do"},{"startTime":219.06,"endTime":223.54,"body":"less, but you do it really, really well,"},{"startTime":223.6,"endTime":227.66,"body":"do it better than you have ever done it"},{"startTime":223.6,"endTime":227.66,"body":"before. And I I'll give you an example."},{"startTime":227.76,"endTime":232.1,"body":"So I talk to so many business owners"},{"startTime":227.76,"endTime":232.1,"body":"every single week through our coaching"},{"startTime":232.101,"endTime":232.934,"body":"programs and,"},{"startTime":232.94,"endTime":236.14,"body":"and through our clients and just talking"},{"startTime":232.94,"endTime":236.14,"body":"to people off the cuff all the time."},{"startTime":236.6,"endTime":238.82,"body":"And I always like to ask the"},{"startTime":236.6,"endTime":238.82,"body":"question, it's always a fun question."},{"startTime":238.98,"endTime":240.73,"body":"I always ask how many hours a week do you,"},{"startTime":240.731,"endTime":243.61,"body":"do you think you spend on your"},{"startTime":240.731,"endTime":243.61,"body":"marketing in your business?"},{"startTime":244.03,"endTime":246.73,"body":"And I get ranges from some"},{"startTime":244.03,"endTime":246.73,"body":"people do no marketing,"},{"startTime":246.75,"endTime":248.21,"body":"and they're usually smaller businesses."},{"startTime":248.35,"endTime":251.53,"body":"And some do spend a lot"},{"startTime":248.35,"endTime":251.53,"body":"more time every single week,"},{"startTime":251.531,"endTime":255.65,"body":"but I'll tell you the average amount of"},{"startTime":251.531,"endTime":255.65,"body":"hours that business owners tell me they"},{"startTime":255.651,"endTime":259.57,"body":"spend on their marketing"},{"startTime":255.651,"endTime":259.57,"body":"is about 15, 15. Is that,"},{"startTime":259.571,"endTime":263.88,"body":"that average number that we hear"},{"startTime":259.571,"endTime":263.88,"body":"business owners say they invest in their"},{"startTime":263.881,"endTime":267.0,"body":"marketing per week."},{"startTime":263.881,"endTime":267.0,"body":"That's 60 hours per month."},{"startTime":267.66,"endTime":270.52,"body":"And so 15 hours a week."},{"startTime":267.66,"endTime":270.52,"body":"That's great if you're,"},{"startTime":270.521,"endTime":272.12,"body":"if you're at least doing"},{"startTime":270.521,"endTime":272.12,"body":"a million plus in revenue,"},{"startTime":272.26,"endTime":275.16,"body":"but I would say a lot of businesses"},{"startTime":272.26,"endTime":275.16,"body":"that I talk to are doing less than that,"},{"startTime":275.161,"endTime":279.8,"body":"and they're still spending 15 hours"},{"startTime":275.161,"endTime":279.8,"body":"a week. And so when you do that,"},{"startTime":279.86,"endTime":281.51,"body":"you spread of really, really thin,"},{"startTime":281.511,"endTime":285.83,"body":"and it becomes very hard to grow because"},{"startTime":281.511,"endTime":285.83,"body":"your time is finite and you have to be"},{"startTime":285.98,"endTime":290.43,"body":"very focused and very"},{"startTime":285.98,"endTime":290.43,"body":"intentional with it. So in 2022,"},{"startTime":291.09,"endTime":295.19,"body":"do less from a marketing"},{"startTime":291.09,"endTime":295.19,"body":"standpoint, but do it better."},{"startTime":295.45,"endTime":296.51,"body":"And here's what I'm gonna, I,"},{"startTime":296.63,"endTime":300.87,"body":"I advise you to do pick"},{"startTime":296.63,"endTime":300.87,"body":"two to three at the most"},{"startTime":301.29,"endTime":304.46,"body":"marketing strategies that you can"},{"startTime":301.29,"endTime":304.46,"body":"implement and that you could put your time"},{"startTime":304.61,"endTime":306.54,"body":"into mastering and becoming very,"},{"startTime":306.61,"endTime":311.54,"body":"very good at them and go all in on"},{"startTime":306.61,"endTime":311.54,"body":"those strategies and go in on the"},{"startTime":311.541,"endTime":315.22,"body":"ones that are gonna create the"},{"startTime":311.541,"endTime":315.22,"body":"most impact for your business."},{"startTime":315.48,"endTime":317.82,"body":"And so when you do them go"},{"startTime":315.48,"endTime":317.82,"body":"analyze your current efforts,"},{"startTime":318.21,"endTime":320.3,"body":"determine what's working and what's not,"},{"startTime":320.36,"endTime":323.01,"body":"but then decide to three"},{"startTime":320.36,"endTime":323.01,"body":"things and say, Hey,"},{"startTime":323.21,"endTime":326.77,"body":"I am going to commit to going all"},{"startTime":323.21,"endTime":326.77,"body":"in on these two to three things."},{"startTime":327.03,"endTime":329.97,"body":"I'm gonna learn to master them."},{"startTime":327.03,"endTime":329.97,"body":"I'm going to invest money in them."},{"startTime":330.07,"endTime":332.13,"body":"I'm going to invest my time in them."},{"startTime":332.39,"endTime":336.41,"body":"And I'm gonna try to accomplish the"},{"startTime":332.39,"endTime":336.41,"body":"greatest impact on my revenue that I can,"},{"startTime":336.63,"endTime":339.37,"body":"but everything else we're"},{"startTime":336.63,"endTime":339.37,"body":"gonna put on maintenance mode."},{"startTime":339.75,"endTime":342.88,"body":"So let's say that you looked at all the"},{"startTime":339.75,"endTime":342.88,"body":"things you were doing and what had the"},{"startTime":342.881,"endTime":345.88,"body":"most impact. And I'm just gonna give you"},{"startTime":342.881,"endTime":345.88,"body":"I'm just gonna give you three things."},{"startTime":345.881,"endTime":348.96,"body":"So let's say that, or I decided to"},{"startTime":345.881,"endTime":348.96,"body":"do two let's. I decided to do two."},{"startTime":349.34,"endTime":353.64,"body":"And Facebook advertising was one or Google"},{"startTime":349.34,"endTime":353.64,"body":"advertising was one paid ads in some"},{"startTime":353.92,"endTime":356.44,"body":"capacity. One of those"},{"startTime":353.92,"endTime":356.44,"body":"sources is really good and I,"},{"startTime":356.441,"endTime":359.08,"body":"so I'm gonna invest my time and"},{"startTime":356.441,"endTime":359.08,"body":"money in that. And the second one is,"},{"startTime":359.081,"endTime":362.64,"body":"let's say email marketing, because that"},{"startTime":359.081,"endTime":362.64,"body":"has a very high return on investment."},{"startTime":362.9,"endTime":366.8,"body":"So I'm gonna put my efforts into becoming"},{"startTime":362.9,"endTime":366.8,"body":"a master at both of those things."},{"startTime":366.9,"endTime":371.8,"body":"I'm gonna really, really do this, right?"},{"startTime":366.9,"endTime":371.8,"body":"Everything else, social media, SEO,"},{"startTime":372.03,"endTime":374.72,"body":"attending farmers' markets or trade shows."},{"startTime":374.86,"endTime":376.28,"body":"That's all gonna go on maintenance mode."},{"startTime":376.66,"endTime":378.27,"body":"Some of those I'm just"},{"startTime":376.66,"endTime":378.27,"body":"gonna stop altogether,"},{"startTime":378.77,"endTime":380.47,"body":"but some things like"},{"startTime":378.77,"endTime":380.47,"body":"social media are valuable."},{"startTime":380.49,"endTime":382.63,"body":"So I'm gonna do what I"},{"startTime":380.49,"endTime":382.63,"body":"call maintenance mode."},{"startTime":382.77,"endTime":385.23,"body":"And this is where you're only if"},{"startTime":382.77,"endTime":385.23,"body":"you're posting seven times a week,"},{"startTime":385.46,"endTime":388.43,"body":"post two to three times a week. If"},{"startTime":385.46,"endTime":388.43,"body":"you're posting three times a week,"},{"startTime":388.77,"endTime":390.91,"body":"at least post two to three times a week."},{"startTime":390.911,"endTime":392.51,"body":"So you might have to"},{"startTime":390.911,"endTime":392.51,"body":"kind of keep with that,"},{"startTime":392.69,"endTime":397.54,"body":"but do maintenance mode on everything"},{"startTime":392.69,"endTime":397.54,"body":"else. And so when you do that,"},{"startTime":397.64,"endTime":399.62,"body":"it allows you to take all this focus."},{"startTime":399.94,"endTime":404.82,"body":"It is everywhere else and put it"},{"startTime":399.94,"endTime":404.82,"body":"in one or two or three directions."},{"startTime":405.12,"endTime":408.26,"body":"And there's a great book out"},{"startTime":405.12,"endTime":408.26,"body":"there called essentialism."},{"startTime":408.62,"endTime":411.06,"body":"I've I've probably read it three"},{"startTime":408.62,"endTime":411.06,"body":"or four times every time I read it,"},{"startTime":411.62,"endTime":414.26,"body":"it just slaps me in the"},{"startTime":411.62,"endTime":414.26,"body":"face because I realize I, I,"},{"startTime":414.44,"endTime":417.73,"body":"I'm not as focused as I should be on"},{"startTime":414.44,"endTime":417.73,"body":"the essential things in life and in"},{"startTime":417.89,"endTime":421.25,"body":"business, but in it, he has a great,"},{"startTime":417.89,"endTime":421.25,"body":"he says, and I'm gonna paraphrase this."},{"startTime":421.691,"endTime":425.49,"body":"Greg says something great. He"},{"startTime":421.691,"endTime":425.49,"body":"says if you look at your energy,"},{"startTime":426.0,"endTime":428.93,"body":"your energy is finite."},{"startTime":426.0,"endTime":428.93,"body":"You only have so much."},{"startTime":428.95,"endTime":433.85,"body":"So would you rather make a millimeter"},{"startTime":428.95,"endTime":433.85,"body":"of progress in a thousand directions"},{"startTime":433.91,"endTime":436.73,"body":"or a thousand millimeters of"},{"startTime":433.91,"endTime":436.73,"body":"progress in one direction,"},{"startTime":436.81,"endTime":440.16,"body":"a thousand miles of progress in"},{"startTime":436.81,"endTime":440.16,"body":"one direction. And so we want,"},{"startTime":440.18,"endTime":443.32,"body":"we wanna stop doing more"},{"startTime":440.18,"endTime":443.32,"body":"for the sake of doing more,"},{"startTime":443.321,"endTime":446.48,"body":"because that's something that we read in"},{"startTime":443.321,"endTime":446.48,"body":"a blog or watched in a video and wanna"},{"startTime":446.481,"endTime":448.12,"body":"become very, very focused."},{"startTime":448.14,"endTime":451.96,"body":"And then that will grow you to the"},{"startTime":448.14,"endTime":451.96,"body":"point of being able to have a team and"},{"startTime":451.961,"endTime":454.92,"body":"outsource some of the things and then"},{"startTime":451.961,"endTime":454.92,"body":"start to in increase the amount of"},{"startTime":455.0,"endTime":458.48,"body":"resources you're investing"},{"startTime":455.0,"endTime":458.48,"body":"in additional efforts."},{"startTime":458.69,"endTime":462.43,"body":"And so whenever I'm thinking"},{"startTime":458.69,"endTime":462.43,"body":"of anything in business,"},{"startTime":462.431,"endTime":466.83,"body":"there are two key elements"},{"startTime":462.431,"endTime":466.83,"body":"that I live and I breathe by."},{"startTime":467.05,"endTime":470.71,"body":"So when I'm making decisions on what"},{"startTime":467.05,"endTime":470.71,"body":"I'm doing, two things, two key elements,"},{"startTime":471.05,"endTime":473.55,"body":"one is resource, and the other is impact."},{"startTime":474.45,"endTime":479.26,"body":"Our goal is to accomplish the maximum"},{"startTime":474.45,"endTime":479.26,"body":"amount of impact for the least"},{"startTime":479.4,"endTime":483.14,"body":"amount of resource. So maximum"},{"startTime":479.4,"endTime":483.14,"body":"impact, least amount of resource."},{"startTime":483.64,"endTime":486.74,"body":"And so certain marketing efforts and"},{"startTime":483.64,"endTime":486.74,"body":"certain things you do in business and in"},{"startTime":486.741,"endTime":490.74,"body":"life in general will have a"},{"startTime":486.741,"endTime":490.74,"body":"high impact in a high resource."},{"startTime":490.96,"endTime":492.7,"body":"And some will have a high"},{"startTime":490.96,"endTime":492.7,"body":"impact and a low resource,"},{"startTime":492.701,"endTime":494.94,"body":"and some will have a lot of"},{"startTime":492.701,"endTime":494.94,"body":"resource with a low impact."},{"startTime":495.09,"endTime":499.89,"body":"Good example of that social media high"},{"startTime":495.09,"endTime":499.89,"body":"amount of resource to do doesn't is it's"},{"startTime":499.891,"endTime":502.05,"body":"a small to a medium level of impact."},{"startTime":502.07,"endTime":504.49,"body":"And so whenever we're"},{"startTime":502.07,"endTime":504.49,"body":"thinking of doing less,"},{"startTime":504.59,"endTime":508.45,"body":"but doing it better and"},{"startTime":504.59,"endTime":508.45,"body":"doing it as a mastering,"},{"startTime":508.451,"endTime":511.89,"body":"that I'm gonna look at things that"},{"startTime":508.451,"endTime":511.89,"body":"will have the most impact for the least"},{"startTime":511.95,"endTime":514.33,"body":"amount of resourcing.
