School Spirited

Nothing to see here, just religious martyrdom, phantom schoolmasters, a piano that plays by itself and an unseen child climbing onto somebody’s bed.

So… a fairly standard Essex education.

In this episode, we uncover Brentwood School’s astonishingly gruesome school song, visit an old playground where the equipment reportedly moved by itself, and spend a deeply unpleasant night in Room 210 at the Arthur Findlay College—with a vanishing key, a recurring strand of long black hair and something breathing behind the bed.

We’ll also meet a glowing maid who walks through walls, a former headmaster who apparently refused to retire gracefully, and a selection of ghosts whose relationship with narrative coherence is, frankly, tenuous.

So sharpen your pencils, check beneath your desk and try not to get yourself put in detention…
