In this episode Earl Shaffer joins to discuss how all music educators can rebuild, retain, and develop their musical programs after this unprecedented year. 
Earl retired from public school music teaching after a 35 year career in June 2015. In his retirement, he is currently an adjunct instructor at Longwood University. His current responsibilities include being the director of bands, conducting the LU Wind Symphony, the supervision of all music student teachers, directing the athletic band “Stampede” and teaching classes in music education. 
Earl is also  the Associate Conductor of the Greater Richmond Youth Wind Ensemble (GRYWE) which is an auditioned Richmond-area honor band that rehearses weekly in the spring at Virginia Commonwealth University.
