Welcome to our Identity Issue – the audio segment of our 7th digital magazine issues where we ask ‘what being Ghanaians means to you?'
PhD researcher Belinda Kazeem-Kamiński talks with Abena Sɛwaa about her forthcoming exhibition (21 October 2021 - 6 March 2022) at Kunsthalle Wien (Vienna) in Austria.
The exhibition is based on documents and a book by Peter Altenberg about a human zoo in Vienna.
Belinda explains the narrative behind the human zoo that housed Ga communities from Osu. These Ga communities were marketed to European visitors as Ashanti.
