AKADi Magazine Season 8 Episode 3

Send us a text

‘The Eyes of Ghana’ is a powerful docufilm about preserving Ghana’s film heritage.

Told primarily through 93-year-old cinematographer Reverend Chris Hesse, this story is one of hope, cultural preservation and is a call to action to us all.

Reverend Hesse was Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah’s personal videographer, during his presidency and captured hundreds of hours of little-seen footage.

We went to see the film in October 2025, and got to speak to two of the docufilm producers Nana Adwoa Frimpong and Anita Afonu.

The music in this episode is made exclusively for AKADi Magazine by Kyekyeku and the Super Opong Stars and is called 'Life No Dey Easy'.
