Mock Draft: 10-Team Superflex PPR - Triple Stack!!

Frank Laury & John Hickey Season 5 Episode 14

Send us a text

Ready to dominate your 10-team Superflex league? This mock draft episode explores two radically different approaches that could make or break your fantasy season.

Drafting from opposite ends of the draft order, Frankie and Johnny demonstrate the strategic flexibility that 10-team Superflex formats allow. Johnny boldly waits until Round 6 to select his first quarterback, instead building an elite foundation with Jamar Chase, Trey McBride, and Josh Jacobs. This patient approach yields a roster with tremendous skill position talent but questionable quarterback reliability – a calculated gamble that works differently in 10-team leagues than it would in deeper formats.

Meanwhile, Frankie showcases the power of strategic stacking from the 9th position. By selecting Jalen Hurts first, then pairing him with AJ Brown while also nabbing CeeDee Lamb (later paired with Dak Prescott), he creates multiple high-upside correlations within his lineup. His finished roster features an unprecedented triple stack with every quarterback matched to a receiver – a strategy that maximizes weekly ceiling when those connections hit.

The episode highlights critical draft considerations including position scarcity, value-based drafting, and the importance of reading your draft room. Both hosts analyze their selections in real-time, discussing pivotal decision points and alternative paths they could have taken. Their post-draft breakdown reveals which approach they believe ultimately yielded the stronger team.

Whether you're new to Superflex formats or a seasoned veteran, this mock draft provides actionable insights you can apply to your upcoming drafts. Try these contrasting strategies in your next mock and see which roster construction feels strongest for your league format and draft position!

Speaker 1:

Mock draft. We got a 10-team Superflex fan request. Johnny's drafting from 2. I'm drafting from 9. Let's go.

Speaker 2:

Alright, alright, alright, all right, all right, all right. Welcome to the show. This is the Frankly Fantasy Football Podcast. We are your hosts, frankie and Johnny. Frankie, ready to mock draft. Today, baby, we got another mock for everybody.

Speaker 1:

Always ready to mock it up, brother.

Speaker 2:

What are we doing today? What kind of mock are we doing?

Speaker 1:

Fan requested mock Fan requests. We love them. Keep them coming. Today, guys, we're doing a 10-team super flex, which is going to be a 2QB full PPR, and we're going to show you a couple different strategies. Johnny's going to be drafting from pick 2, and I'm going to be on the opposite end of the spectrum giving you some insight from pick 9. Giving you some insight from pick nine. So it should be a good one, man.

Speaker 2:

All right Sounds good, frankie, let's get the board up and rolling, do it? All right, and the draft is away here, and Josh Allen right off the rip, like we expected, is the 101 in a 2Q quarterback or a super flex league. All right, so I'm at number two, and what I'm going to do here, guys, the obvious pick for me would be Lamar Jackson in a super flex like this. What I am going to do, though, is I'm going to see if I can put together a team without taking quarterbacks early. It's a 10-team league, so this is where you can do that, so I'm going to try to show this to you guys who are in 10-team super flexes. Can we wait a few rounds to take our quarterbacks and do you like the team afterwards? So what I'm going to do here is take Jamar Chase as my de facto 101 and see how we can shake it out here, guys.

Speaker 2:

All right then. Lamar Jackson, justin Jefferson, joe Burrow at five, bajon Robinson at six, jaden Daniels at seven and Saquon Barkley at eight. Frankie, you're on the clock at number nine. Where are you going to go here?

Speaker 1:

Guys, right now there is somebody that I am excited as heck to take, but I want to show you guys a different strategy. So, from a running back perspective, there's Jameer Gibbs on the board. That is who I would be taking 100%. It's not even close From a receiver standpoint. There's also CeeDee Lamb still on the board. I love him as well, but again, I want to show you guys, with Johnny, showing you, what it looks like from pick two, not going quarterback. I want to show you what it looks like going quarterback at pick nine. So for me, looking at quarterback, there's Jalen Hurts, patrick Malms, bo Nix. For me it's Jalen Hurts and I'm locking him in.

Speaker 2:

All right, Sounds good. Right after Jalen Hurts, on the turn here, had to take that value Team 10. Jameer Gibbs and Ashton Gentry on the turn Love that setup. Let's see if he can get a quarterback though. All right, Frankie, who are you going to?

Speaker 1:

pair up with Jalen Hertz. Guys, this one's easy. I'm looking at receivers and there's CeeDee Lamb, malik Neighbors Amin Ra, and running back there's CMC, who I love and I want a piece of this year, and Derrick Henry, but for me it's CeeDee Lamb, guys. I'm going to lock him in and enjoy the fruits of that labor.

Speaker 2:

All right. After CeeDee Lamb, we had Brock Bowers, amin Ra, st Brown, puka Nakua, patrick Mahomes, christian McCaffrey and Malik Neighbors taken right in front of me. Of course he was God. I would have loved to have paired him up with Jamar Chase there. That would have been really nice. All right, guys, continuing on this trend and you won't see as many quarterbacks go in a 10-team league either, because there's more on the board here, guys. There's going to be a lot more quarterbacks available and a lot more players on the waiver wire as well. A lot of quarterbacks will be on the waiver wire in a 10-team league, all right. So if I'm looking at, like I said, I'm going to wait on quarterback, even though I love Bo Nix Running backs. You got Derrick Henry, devon Achan, bucky Irving, jonathan Taylor Receivers Brian Thomas, drake, london, nico Collins, ladd McConkie Really interesting Tight end. You could jump up with a Trey McBride or go with a George Kittle. You know what, guys? I never get Trey McBride because I never want to take a tight end in round two. I'm going to try it this time and see what it looks like. Yeah, I like it, man. Pair him up up with jamar chase. Give me a stud top two tight end. Give me a top two receiver. Let's see where we can go from there. So, after trey mcbride, we had derrick henry and devon achan go, and I am back on the clock here. All right, if we're looking at running back bucky irving, jonathan taylor, josh j Jacobs there's some guys I can anchor my team on there. I like that. Receivers Brian Thomas, drake, london, nico Collins all of those guys are in consideration for me. I think what I'm going to do here.

Speaker 2:

The workhorse running backs are pretty thin here, frank, there's a guy that's kind of jumped up my board as far as running backs go, and it's Josh Jacobs, and it's really based on based on, I mean, his body of work first of all, but he is one of those rare workhorse backs. There's really nobody behind him. Man. It's uh, marshawn lloyd is the backup right now. That's not a guy. I'm afraid of. Taking very many snaps from josh jacobs, um, plus everything that's going on with jordan love and his receivers, they're not getting tons of reps. I think they're going to have to be run heavy here, guys, until they get everybody healthy. So I think Josh Jacobs is a great anchor to this team. All right then. Brian Thomas Jr. Ladd McConkie, bucky Irving Drake, london, nico Collins, jonathan Taylor. Frankie, this is your third pick. You've got Jalen Hurts and CeeDee Lamb.

Speaker 1:

Guys. So I love a quarterback still on the board here it is Bo Nix but I'm not willing to take that yet. I'm going to anchor on the side of, I think, team 10. If he wants to go quarterback, fine, take him. But I also think that they could go receiver and there is a receiver on the board that I want a piece of because it elevates both of these players and what I mean by that is AJ Brown is still on the board. So I'm taking AJ Brown to pair him with Jalen Hurts, knowing that, hey man, I got a little stack happening in the first three rounds.

Speaker 2:

Yes, you do, and I have an idea where you might go if you're looking for a double stack here. Frankie, I've listened to you talk strategy and stacks way too much to not know where you're probably heading with this one bud All right on the turn. Here you were right. Bo Nix was taken and then Kyron Williams here. So, frankie, you're back on the clock. You got the Jalen Hurts, aj Brown stack with CeeDee Lamb. That's so good. Where are you going?

Speaker 1:

next Guys? I mean, looking at the running back perspective. There's Chase Brown, brees Hall, james Cook, alvin Kamara Gosh there's so much value still at the receiver standpoint with Marvin Harrison, jsn, garrett Wilson man, I would love to have Garrett Wilson and this is something that I keep going back and forth on. Would I love to fill out my receivers with a flex and, knowing that I'm taking a huge hit on running back or I'm going to layer in a few things from running back standpoint. So you know what, I am going to go running back and I am going to take a little bit of a risk here. I'm going to lock in Chase Brown. I think his upside is phenomenal this year and I'm really excited to see what happens.

Speaker 2:

I love Chase Brown. Man, I absolutely love Chase Brown. He does everything for you. I mean the receptions, the rushing inside outside screen game. I mean he just does it all. I love him this year. Man Agreed, all right.

Speaker 2:

Then Marvin Harrison, baker, mayfield, garrett Wilson, jsn, george Kittle going to the fourth and Brees Hall I am on the clock here. I've got Jamar Chase, trey McBride, josh Jacobs this is my fourth pick Receivers out there. You've got Tee Higgins. I'm not going to get both receivers on the Bengals here. I don't think that's a great strategy. Tyreek Hill, rasheed Rice who's off my board? Terry McLaurin making me nervous. Man, I don't like the vibes coming out of Washington right now Running backs. I could pair up with Josh Jacobs, omarion Hampton, james Cook, alvin Kamara Quarterbacks.

Speaker 2:

I am waiting, like I said. I said guys, I can wait another round. You got Josh, justin Herbert, kyler Murray, caleb Williams, brock Purdy, drake, may. There's quarterbacks out there. I'm gonna wait and see what we can do. I'm gonna take a chance on a running back here. I don't like this guy as your one just because it's a little. He's a rookie there's. You know, we're not sure exactly what the workload's gonna look like, like they're pretty adamant right now at a 50-50 split, but I think he's just going to blow people's minds once he gets on the field. I'm going to go with Amari and Hampton here, and the only reason I'm doing this is because I have Josh Jacobs to lock that down.

Speaker 2:

All right, after Amari and Hampton, we had Justin Herbert, James Cook. I am back on the clock here. I'm going to take a peek at receiver Frankie. I'm going to go with a guy that you are madly in love with. I cannot stop you from loving this guy. You've talked about him so much. Pretty damn good value in the fifth round here in a 10-team league. It is a super flex. I get that, but I'm going to go with Tyreek Hill. I'm going to pair him up with Jamar Chase. That's going to take some of the risk away from me, so I don't have to worry about him being my receiver one. I love that pick, though. All right, frankie. Afterwards we had a little quarterbacks going here Kyler Murray, caleb Williams, rasheed Rice, terry McLaurin, kenneth Walker and Tee Higgins. You're on the clock at the 5.9.

Speaker 1:

Guys, this is a really, really awesome situation because right now I could look to fill out my receiver room a little bit more. There's Mike Evans, there's Devontae Adams, there's Tedaroa McMillan. From a running back perspective, there's Alvin Kamara, chuba Hubbard, trevion Henderson. I'm not even going to look elsewhere and I'll tell you what. For me, there's a massive, massive teardrop. So I'm going to go back to the well at running back and I want every bit and piece of Alvin Kamara, knowing that this is a full PPR league yeah, great call there, man.

Speaker 2:

Great call as your rp2 love that. Uh, then we had, uh, kyron Williams. I'm sorry we had Sam Laporta and Brock Purdy on the turn and, frankie, you're back on the clock. You got Jalen Hurts, aj Brown, stack with CD Lamb, chase Brown, alvin Kamara solid team here, man all right, john.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, this is where it gets pretty interesting, man. So I got my stable running backs, I got the two that I'm going to anchor on, I got two wonderful receivers, you know, and I got my quarterback that I'm really, really digging. Now I could wait on quarterback here. Right, I'm looking at Drake May, front of me. Team eight guys doesn't have a quarterback yet. They're more than likely going to go either this round or next. Same thing with team six, and then team four also needs a quarterback and Johnny boy, looking at the end there, also needs a quarterback, so I could see a QB run happening.

Speaker 1:

So I'm going to actually do something that I wouldn't normally do and I'm going to reach for a guy. The only reason I'm going to reach is because it helps my team and John's smiling because he knows what I'm going to do. You know I listed off a few quarterbacks. It isn't any of those that I listed. I'm locking in Dak Prescott Guys. I think, with Dak Prescott, knowing that I have now two stacks on my starting team with Jalen Hurts, aj Brown, cd Lamb and that of Dak Prescott, it raises the value of Dak. So for me, I really am excited about this strategy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it worked out really well for you and you're right, there was a little bit of a quarterback run there in that fifth round, sixth round, and it does screw me. I waited definitely a little bit too long for quarterback. So I am going to have to jump on a couple of guys here that I like. I'm going to have to hammer a few here. Guys, I love what I did. I love how I started off this draft. I think it's a solid, solid team.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to have to take a few quarterbacks here in a row, I think guys, there's a couple of guys I like, but they do make me nervous, that is for sure. Jordan loves a guy that I do like a lot. He's currently injured. They're saying it's a thumb in his non-throwing hand. I think he's going to be absolutely fine. He'll be ready to start. It's not a leg injury or an arm injury and it's an off-throwing hand. But there's just so much opportunity, so much talent on that team, young talent. I've got to take a chance with Jordan Love here.

Speaker 2:

All right, after I took Jordan Love, tet McMillan, devontae Adams and I am back on the clock. I want to take just a peek Quarterbacks. I'm looking at CJ Stroud, justin Fields, jj McCarthy I am going to take a little risk here. Again, I said I'm going to hammer quarterbacks, so I'm probably going to take three or four. To be perfectly honest in this draft guys, I am going to go with a Justin Fields right now. I I am going to go with a Justin Fields right now. I want the rushing floor that he has. I love Garrett Wilson. I want to see if I think Justin Fields can have some really, really sneaky fantasy value this year. For sure, all right. After Justin Fields we had DJ Moore, cortland Sutton, Devonta Smith, zay Flowers, travis Hunter huge receiver run there. James Connor really solid pick in round seven there. Love that.

Speaker 1:

Frankie, you're on the clock where you going here, man guys, it's pretty much open. I could absolutely get another quarterback. In case one of my quarterbacks get hurt, I could do another running back. I could do receiver tight end guys. So, looking at the running backs, there's rj harvey, quinshawn, jenkins, david montgomery, caleb johnson, whoa quinshawn's already jumped up the boards.

Speaker 2:

A bit after the most recent news. Right Sure has.

Speaker 1:

Receiver guys DK Metcalf, xavier Worthy, j-mo, and then tight end, it's TJ Hawkinson. This one's easy guys. I need a flex DK Metcalf sitting there as my receiver three, my starting flex Lock that in baby, he's one of my favorite flex options.

Speaker 2:

I love to get as your third receiver. He's one of the guys I target in those rounds. Absolutely, yeah, all right on the turn. Then we had, uh, chris alave and xavier worthy a lot of receivers taken there in that round.

Speaker 1:

Frankie, you're back on the clock guys I'm gonna go so looking at receiver again. There's jamo uh pickens, etc. But I really like the running back. I want to make sure I sure that up, just in case. And it's RJ Harvey. I mean there's also Quinn Sean David Montgomery, Caleb Johnson, but for me, knowing this is full PPR. If I can get RJ Harvey as my running back three, I'm super excited to see what he can do in a Sean Payton offense.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's a really fun pick man man and I love he makes me nervous as your RB2 and I've done that strategy and I've had it. But and if you do that, you got to come right back and get somebody just to be safe. But as you're running back three, you're all upside baby. You can sit there and play him when you want to, when you know you can, and it's going to be a great thing. So I highly recommend grabbing him as your three or four for sure, all right. Then CJ Stroud, david Montgomery Qu for sure. All right, then CJ Stroud, david Montgomery Quinshawn, judkins. Now that's eighth round in a 10-team league. We're going to see him climbing up Travis Kelsey, jj McCarthy and Caleb Johnson right in front of me. I'm back on the clock. All right, this is round eight. I waited until round six and I grabbed two quarterbacks guys Jordan Love, justin Fields. I think it could have gone worse for sure and could have gone better. I think it could have gone worse for sure and could have gone better. I'm not in love with those, but I was able to grab number one receiver, number one or two tight end and some good running backs in there. So we'll see how this plays out. I'm not sure I'm a hundred percent in yet, but we'll see how things go.

Speaker 2:

So right now, running back wise, I've got two running backs. I'd love to look at receiver, if I can. I know we've got a bit of a drop off here. We're in the range now with Jamison Williams, george Pickens, roma Dunzey, jalen Waddell, addison. We're in the receiver two category here.

Speaker 2:

Guys, I'm going to have to go down a little bit deeper. This is a guy, this is a starting flex for me. So I want to lock that down and I think the best option I see of these guys. This is not a receiver two, this is still a receiver one. It's a guy that I kind of reach for often. But it's Calvin Ridley guys. He is going to be the number one target easily on this offense With Cam Ward. I know it's a rookie, we're not sure. We haven't seen him. It's going to be better than it was last year. Can we all agree on that at least? So better than it was last year, can we all agree on that At least? So I'll take the Calvin Ridley uh, with a little better quarterback option here. All right, then TJ Hawkinson, jalen Waddle, coming into the ninth round and I'm back on the clock Want to take a peek at quarterback guys, since I waited, a couple of guys on here I could look at with a Trevor Lawrence or a Michael Penix Could look at the Cam Ward stack there.

Speaker 2:

Potentially, too, could also look at a Tua Tungavailoa stack here. Man, that's a possibility. You talked about that a little bit with your love for Tyreek Running backs, pacheco, aaron Jones, receivers let's take another peek here. You know what, guys? I do want a little bit more running back depth of somebody who is a starting running back, because Amari and Hampton, as much as I love him, it's not a sure bet, absolutely not a sure thing here, guys. So I need some more running back depth. This guy's climbing up my board a lot. It's Tony Pollard. We've got Tajay Spears injured at the moment. He's going to be out a couple of weeks with a high ankle sprain. Tony Pollard may start this backfield for week one and two alone, and if that's the case, I'm all in. Baby, let's go. So let's get him on there. Case Amari and Hampton starts off slow. All right. Then we had Isaiah Pacheco, george Pickens, roma Dunzey, jamison Williams, aaron Jones, Jerry Judy, frank, round nine coming into the turn. Where are you going here, buddy?

Speaker 1:

Guys. So I have a really good, balanced team right now Jalen Hurts, dak Prescott, pairing them with CeeDee Lamb, aj Brown, dk Metcalf and then, from a running back perspective, alvin Kamara, chase Brown and RJ Harvey. I mean wide open. I'm not even going to worry about tight end because I know how depleted they are. I mean you're looking at Tyler Warren, mark Andrews, Evan Ingram, david Njoku. I mean those could potentially be streamers. Some of them could absolutely outperform their ADP. I think Evan Ingram absolutely could, potentially David Njoku, et cetera. But there's still too much talent on the board and I still need more receiver depth. So from my standpoint, I'm going to look at receiver and I'm going to lock in a guy, jacoby Myers. For me, getting a safe floor for a guy like Jacoby just really makes my high flyers like, if AJ Brown's a little bit banged up, I'm not freaking out. I can plug and play Jacoby and, knowing he's a receiver, one on the Raiders really good.

Speaker 2:

Call man coming in. Uh ninth round. Uh on the turn. Jordan Addison and DeAndre Swift Frankie are on the clock at 10.2 All right guys.

Speaker 1:

So now is where things start getting interesting, because I'm not gonna do tight end yet again. I want to wait to see what happens when it comes back. I could go and continue to bolster the receiver room. There's ricky pierce, all, who's super interesting. Uh, debo samuel, in my opinion, who's super interesting. Um, you know, but from a running back standpoint, I, you know, I, I do want to kind of check out. I'm actually going to change on the fly. I'm going to stay in the flames with receiver guys. I just want to continue to get more and more receiver depth with the amount of injuries that receivers have had in training camp and for me it's going to be Ricky Pearsall, I think to be able to get a guy that's going to be locked and loaded as the receiver one on the team, with juan jennings banged up and with that of brandon iuk not coming back to, potentially, week six. I like the potential upside of ricky piersall and could be great trade bait yeah, love that call.

Speaker 2:

He was one of my uh value picks, man. I just think he's an excellent value, especially with the landscape of what's going on in san francisco with their receivers. Man, it's bananas out there right now. It's crazy. All right, then we had Chris Godwin, tyler Warren, love that pick, by the way, right there in round 10. Yeah, trevor Lawrence, debo Samuel, brian Robinson, mark Andrews, right in front of me. I'm on the clock in round 10 here.

Speaker 2:

Want to take a look at some of the options? I'm thinking about some more receiver depth here. Tyree Kill does scare the shit out of me, frank, I'm not going to lie. I know you love him and I'm with you. I'm going to walk down this road with you and it might be painful. I'm not delusional. On the Tyree Kill pick, I do see a guy that gives me a little stack also gives me a rookie that's high, flying some upside. I'm gonna go with matthew golden here. Man, this is jordan loves receiver, currently his only healthy receiver at the moment. So so I'm gonna go with that and see if I can catch some gold here. Guys, all right, matthew golden and tyrone tracy, evan, ingram, and I am back on the clock. Take a look at some running back depth here. Travis, etn, cam scataboo uh, jaylen warren, charbonnet do like those guys. I think there's a lot of good value there.

Speaker 2:

I'm looking at quarterbacks because I cannot not have another quarterback, let's put it that way. I mean possibly even two guys. I'm not gonna lie, you know, I'm at that place right now. I am going to take this is one of those crazy teams. It's not what I typically do. I'm going to take a shot at Cam Ward here, guys, and the reason why is because I've got Tony Pollard. I've got Calvin Ridley. If Cam Ward comes out, maybe he's this year's Jaden Daniels. I don't know. I didn't know Jaden Daniels was going to do what he did last year. I loved him but didn't expect that. Maybe Cam Ward comes out, really shows out, and all of a sudden Calvin Ridley goes up. I've got a huge boost in a stack, in a super flex. I'm going to give it a shot, guys. If it doesn't work out, then Jawan Jennings, david Njoku, travis, etienne, colston, loveland, jonu Smith, jalen Warren, frankie. You're on the clock Three picks left here in round 11.

Speaker 1:

Guys, there is a running back on this board that I cannot believe he's still on the board and, looking at the running backs, it's Cam Scadaboo, jordan Mason, javante, williams, zach Charbonnet. If you guys looked at the first preseason game, he went out there with his first team offense because Kenneth Walker was hurt. He had five touches, 45 yards and a touchdown. The dude is ready to explode and I'm locking in Zach Charbonnet. I just think there's too much value there. I don't even know if he's yes, he's a handcuff, but, guys, he's going to have standalone value as well and God forbid something happens to Kenneth Walker. I'm trading Alvin Kamara. I might trade Zach Charbonnet. I might trade one of these guys and literally look to upgrade one of my other spots to where I get a top tier. Maybe it is a Bijan Robinson, maybe it is a Jameer Gibbs, because somebody else gets hurt.

Speaker 2:

Now, why would anything ever happen to Kenneth Walker? I don't know. I mean, when does that ever happen.

Speaker 1:

He's the pillar of hell.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, come on, man, I just don't believe you. I think you're being paranoid here. Oh, you mean, considering the last three years, kenneth Walker played 15 games, 15 games and 11 games last year. Yeah, yeah, that's Charbonnet starting. Five games, six games there, man. You know, five games, six games there, man. So yeah, he's got total standalone value and he's not even a handcuff, he's. He's a guy that must be drafted, no question about it. All right, frank, you're back on the clock here. Two picks to go at number 12. Where are you going?

Speaker 1:

Guys, I'm got to go tight end. I don't have a tight end. Some of the guys have already been taking. Some of the already players here have been already taking multiple tight ends. I'm feeling a little bit of fomo, but it's okay because you know I'm streaming and there is somebody on the board that I am willing to go into the flames with and be miserable all year, but I think I think this is his year. This is his year. I'm locking in kyle pitts in round what is this?

Speaker 1:

what round are we on? 12, round, 12, round, 12, and you going to be streaming anyways. Take a shot, see what happens. You know what I mean Because if he, I mean again he's listed as tight end 17. Even if he goes tight end 13, tight end 12, the value is beautiful. Take a shot.

Speaker 2:

I'd love that Great pick, matt, of course. Yeah, if you guys gonna watch our uh, our sleeper episode here a little teaser possibly on it we'll get brutalized for that one. I can't wait, man. All right, two picks to go. I am on the clock.

Speaker 2:

Um, I will want to potentially look at a quarterback, but right now I just see so much value here. Guys, you want to talk about sleepers? This is one of both of our favorite sleepers, a guy I cannot pass up right now. It's jayden higgins, rookie receiver for the houston texans. He's going to be opposite nico collins. I think this dude's going to be a stud. So much upside with this guy. I gotta take a chance here. All right, my last pick here. Let's just take a peek. I could take a flyer or I can take a quarterback. Um, you know what? Frankie, screw it. This is. I'll take my last pick of the draft.

Speaker 2:

I don't love my quarterbacks. I think they're fine. There's potential for upside there, but there's also potential for absolute misery, and I know that. Yeah, so I am going to take another quarterback here. It's a 10 team league. Guys, there's going to be things on the waiver wire. Yeah, if the tua tyreek stack can come back and be a thing again. I'm going to take a chance, but you know what? I'm going to know immediately. I'm going to know week one, week two, whether this is going to work or whether it's not. If either of them are not completely healthy, I'm dropping Tua. I'm going to make other decisions. But let's give it a shot. I mean, why not? This was the top stack for like three years in a row, or something crazy, you know, up until last year. So I'm going to give it a shot. You got nothing to lose. All right, frank. After your flyer, pick your sleeper. Love for Kyle.

Speaker 2:

Pitts where are you?

Speaker 1:

going now. So typically, guys, I would definitely want to do, you know, I would want to sure up my running back room, just in case a little bit more. And there's JK Dobbins on the board. That is probably who I would take to pair with RJ Harvey, knowing that if one of those guys go down, I got another in the hopper. But from a receiver perspective, you could also look at Michael Pittman Jr, darnell Mooney, keon Coleman Again tight end Goddard, et cetera. But I'm not going to do that In a two-quarterback league, super flex league, I want another quarterback.

Speaker 1:

And here is a brilliant move. Pay attention, I'm going to lock in Aaron Rodgers, and I'll tell you why. Because I now have a stack with every single quarterback on my team. So you look at Aaron Rodgers with DK Metcalf, jalen Hurts with AJ Brown and Dak Prescott with CD Lamb. God forbid, if something happens to one of the quarterbacks, it's okay, because then again I have the double dip capability. So for me, guys, if you're at the back half of this draft, knowing that what we've just seen, it is completely viable in a 10-team league Again 12-team it's more than likely going to be way more difficult because right by the end of the second round, there's already going to be eight additional players off the board. So, but, guys, for a 10, or it would be four additional players off the board by at that point in time. But in a 10 team league you have the ability to make a move like this.

Speaker 2:

So for me, man, this is the chef's kiss to a great team. What are we going to call that? A triple stack? I mean, have you ever a triple super flex stack? It's crazy, man, you ever triple stamp a double stamp.

Speaker 1:

Huh, a triple stack, a double stack, that's right, baby Trace stack is.

Speaker 2:

You know, that's what we're looking at here. Yeah, dude, that's crazy. Okay, all right, frankie, let's take a look at our teams here. Let's break them down. Let's break my team down.

Speaker 2:

So my strategy going into this is a 10 team full PPR. I wanted to go in not taking a quarterback and see how far I could wait. I waited till round six to grab my quarterbacks in a super flex to quarterback league. So I went with Jamar Chase, went with Trey McBride. I mean, these are two of the creme de la creme when it comes to those positions and that's what you have to do. You've got to hit if you're not going to take quarterbacks. Then I came back with Josh Jacobs, amarian Hampton, tony Pollard as my running backs. Again, jamar Chase, tyreek Hill, calvin Ridley, matthew Golden and Jaden Higgins as my receivers. I love my receiver room right now with Trey McBride as the tight end.

Speaker 2:

Now quarterbacks got a little tricky. Waited till round six and seven. This is what it's going to look like. Guys in a 10-team league Could even be worse. Yeah, definitely yeah, but you got Jordan Love and Justin Fields. Now you know, I like the both of them. I really do. They're not guys that I love to start, but I think they're going to give me a nice floor. A little bit of rushing there out of Justin Fields as well, but Cam Ward and Tua Tungavailoa then to back them up.

Speaker 2:

I will never take four quarterbacks, guys, when I draft, but in this particular situation I did only because it's a 10-team league and I know there's a lot going to be on the waiver wire there. 12-team leagues this isn't going to work out for you guys. I mean you can wait a bit to take a quarterback, but you need to know when it's happening and it's probably going to be fourth or fifth round. Most likely. You're going to have to jump on somebody you guys to lock that in. But you can wait in a 10-team league because I love the solid talent around what I've got going on at quarterback. I have enough quarterbacks to play with Frankie. I don't hate this team. I think this is a team I'd roll out there with and feel pretty good about.

Speaker 1:

John, the one thing for me and I'd love thank you again for showing the viewers, the listeners, what this looks like in a super flex league to not go quarterback right off the get, go and actually wait until round six.

Speaker 1:

For me, man, I'm not going to do that Like after seeing this. This is super helpful because for me I just think that there was, there were some moves that could be made that I would have done slightly differently. Like Omari and Hampton, I probably would have gone Kyler Murray there and then I would have come back and gone Tyreek Hill, right, and then I would have done kind of that hero RB anchor on Josh Jacobs. And then I love the rest of the draft because then you could have got Tony Pollard, et cetera, and then you don't need to go crazy on a cam ward or a tongue to a tug of Iowa. You could have just done one of those guys and then continue to add depth from a running back perspective. But I really appreciate. And then what that does too is it elevates the Trey McBride even further. So now you have a stack there and you're looking really sexy. But for me, man, I appreciate it because, holy shit, I'm not doing that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, I'm with you and that's exactly what I would have done. Differently would have been the Kyler Murray, cause I think that would have made this team look really, really nice. Then I could have had a Kyler Murray paired up with a Justin Fields and a Cam Ward.

Speaker 1:

Then it's different.

Speaker 2:

Then it's a whole different scenario. Then we're talking different ball game. I've got two quarterbacks. Then, with rushing floors, I've got the stack with Trey McBride and Kyler. You're right. Yep, great call, man. That's exactly why we do this. All right, let's get to your team. Take a look at it. What do you think about this buddy?

Speaker 1:

John, I got to be honest, guys, and I'm not just saying this because I drafted this team. This might be the best draft I've ever drafted. Then again, it's because it's a 10-team league.

Speaker 2:

I don't want to toot my own horn here.

Speaker 1:

But if you look at it, if you look at it again, and I'll be fully transparent, I'm not taking Jalen Hurts over Jameer Gibbs, I'm not doing it. I'm taking Jameer Gibbs over Jalen Hurts, which again the guy behind me then is taking Jalen Hurts, and it completely changes the entirety of this dynamic. However, the way that the chips kind of fall, or fell when I did take Jalen Hurts guys, I love this to be able to come back and get CeeDee Lamb and then pair AJ Brown with him to have that stack and then to have the ability to have Dak Prescott. Yeah, I reached for him, but I was okay to reach for him because I had already filled out the rest of my team outside of tight end. Knowing that I already had CeeDee Lamb, aj Brown, chase Brown, alvin Kamara, I was really, really happy. And one thing that I was nervous about was actually taking Chase Brown over Garrett Wilson. I would normally have gone. Garrett wilson filled out all of the receivers, but then what? But then I'm so happy looking back, I didn't, because then I'm looking at alvin kamara as my rb1. I can't then take dak prescott right as that particular, uh other stack. So then I got to look at my running back situation. Now my RB2 is Chuba, hubbard, trevion, henderson, so on and so forth, which then the value drops for me and the point differential drops for me. So really I'm very, very happy how this panned out.

Speaker 1:

And then again you have the depth with RJ Harvey and Zach Charbonnet, and then you get a flyer on Kyle Pitts Guys. If Kyle Pitts doesn't work out, it's no risk. You get a flyer on Kyle Pitts Guys. If Kyle Pitts doesn't work out, it's no risk. Literally, you're dropping him and you have additional players left on the board. I'm going to list off the other tight ends Guys. As I mentioned, dallas Goddard is still available. That's a stack for me. You still have Zach Ertz, you have Brendan Strange, hunter, henry. There is going to be plenty of tight ends in a 10-team league, so why not go ahead and take a flyer on Kyle Pitts? Overall, man, I thought this was a stellar, stellar drafted team and I think this gives a lot of people an overview as to what it would look like if you're at the back half of a 10-team draft.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you did. You drafted a great team there and it's not what you normally would do, but it worked out great for you.

Speaker 1:

It totally you.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, now it might be something you will actually do at this point, frank. Yeah, could be. Yeah, absolutely could be. All right, great, all right, guys. That is the mock draft for the day.
